Woo hoo! It's the second Bullet Journal thread! For the benefit of newbies - Bullet Journal is a brilliant way to organise your whole life in a lovely notebook. Perfect for anyone who has tried every app and every scheduling system but just can't seem to get on top of things. Also perfect for lovers of beautiful stationery and especially for people who like lists!

Sooo - get out your fineliners and your washi tape! Stroke your Leuchtturms! And get all that stuff that's whizzing round in your head out onto paper instead!

Fuck - I'm not that old!

(and we will gloss over the fact that my purple crate is being used as clothes storage in my own bedroom right now...)

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 01/03/2016 12:09

Oh dear, I didn't mean that you were old enough to be my mother!!! Sorry! Blush

mercifulTehlu · 01/03/2016 12:27

I need to get the dc a bit better trained. The trouble is that I'm at home most of the time, so I have time to do stuff. But when I go back to work, they are not just going to magically start helping out if I don't get them in the habit!

Lolol... Don't worry about it, I was joking :)

For my laundry - they each have one of those trugs to put their dirty stuff in. When it's full I wash it and then it gets folded back into the same trug and taken to their room.
The advantage of this is I have to put away immediately or there's nowhere for the newly dirty stuff to go or I put it on top of the chest of drawers and it stays there for days

MissingPanda · 01/03/2016 18:50

Grin at time travel. I really wish I could time travel especially to one specific date

Today I've set up a double page for books I want to read and started making a list. I've also done two double pages for decorating that needs doing. The whole house needs doing tbh but so far I've started a general one, for all the stuff that will be needed for all rooms and I've also set up a page each for my bedroom and two downstairs rooms, hence the two double pages. On these I can list what needs doing, what I need, eg need to find new bedding for bedroom and anything else that's room specific.

I only put one thing down on my todo list for today and that's being done, intermittently (can't do it all in one go). It's also my day off so I've been able to relax and know that everything that has needed to be done is/has been done.

Vistaverde · 02/03/2016 08:53

Panda That must have felt really good having only one thing on your to do list. I am finding that my daily lists are also getting shorter as I am getting on top of things.

Just as I was falling asleep last night I thought of something that I needed to Bujo and I thought that's fine I will remember in the morning. Not surprisingly Today I have no idea what it was except that it is something I need to put on my Future Log for April. Hopefully, it will come back to me.

mercifulTehlu · 02/03/2016 12:03

Yes, I am beginning to learn that RIGHT NOW is the time to write things in, otherwise I forget!

Do you guys have your BuJo with you at all times?

Things come into my head during the day but then I forget them by the time I've got to my BuJo later on! Do u think it's best to write it on my phone or something else?

StillSmallVoiceOfQualms · 02/03/2016 18:56

Zing - how does the text widget work? It sounds really useful!

Babieseverywhere · 02/03/2016 22:18

I have been panicking today, between book day tomorrow and DD1's after school activities etc. I had so much to do but between my BuJo and mini BuJo I have done a lot today and just a short list for tomorrow.

Roll on Friday.

SoupDragon · 03/03/2016 07:03

Christina mine is usually with me if I have a bag as its a small A6 book. I don't really have a method for noting things if I've not got it.- appointments go in my phone calendar with an alert I guess but that's it.

Babieseverywhere · 03/03/2016 07:42

Christina My Bujo stays in the house at all times. I also have a small notebook or mini Bujo which I copy things into and carry with me but it is mainly a to do list which I tear out by throw away when complete.

I also text myself a message if I have no paper or pen on me. Of course it comes back again, so you end up with two copies of the message but it works and is very quick to do.

Vistaverde · 03/03/2016 10:00

Christina I have separate Bujos for home and work and they are both kept in their respective locations. I used to take my home Bujo around with me but like Babies I now use a small notebook to jot down my to do list and jot things I think about when out and about. I worry about losing or damaging my Bujo and hence why it stays at home.

DoreenLethal · 03/03/2016 10:24

I leave my BuJo at home unless going to a meeting or something. If I make notes when I haven't got it - then I take them home and stick them into a page of their own. Like a scrapbook.

ChristinaRosetti · 03/03/2016 11:28

Thank you, I think i will keep a little notepad and pen when i go out or text myself as i usually have my phone with me most of the time.

mercifulTehlu · 03/03/2016 12:56

My BuJo stays at home atm, but when I eventually find a job I'll definitely take it to work with me.

I have evolved into having a kinda work station in my hall. It is a shelving unit I put there to store shoes, wellies and school bags but it is soooo helpful.

Things like stapler, stamps and sticky tape has moved to it with no planning or thought !

So now when the kids come in, put their shoes and bags away in the work station and leave letters and water bottles on the top for me to deal with. So every night I stand there sorted through the letters adding them to my BuJo and calendar.

I am starting to feel like I am planning my life not firefighting all the time.

Plus when my online shopping arrived today (using my meal planner and freezer lists to decide what to buy) not only did I order everything I needed but I took time to check my meal planner and make sure I only froze what we weren't eating in the next three days.

My DH is cooking tonight, as I am going out with DD1. I had to leave him a note saying don't eat a, b or c...it is meal planned. Try y or z. LOL, poor DH, can't eat the food in his own cupboards. Well he can but I will cry !

BuJo's rock :)

Hello! Have just started my journal today. I am feeling completely inspired and have ticked off an astonishing amount of stuff. Have been lurking while I've been off work sick and mulling over stuff. Feel fractionally better today so had a lovely time writing stuff in coloured pens.

Have gone for A4 soft touch notebook from tesco as I usually have a rucksack or large handbag with me. Was delighted to discover it has a little pocket in the back for stuff. I feel really important and organised...

I have recently instigated a new laundry system btw and it is really working. It's a bit contraversial though...

One basket. I may write a book about it. Although I only have 3 kids and a DH so appreciate it wouldn't work for everyone.

After years of multiple baskets, dressing from the drier and mad rules I have come to the conclusion that you can only be taking one load out of the machine or drier at a time.

Kewcumber · 03/03/2016 20:38

wherethat does your laundry system involve disposable paper clothing becuase I feel its the only system that will work for me

Kewcumber · 03/03/2016 20:40

Do you guys have your BuJo with you at all times?

of course! Shock

Can;t beleive some of you would be separated. I went to a client today without it by mistake I had to guess what I was doing (fingers are still crossed)

Wheresthattomoibabber · 03/03/2016 20:42

Honestly it really works. It was a bit of a leap of faith. Dirty clothes go in hamper, as soon as there's a load it goes on then straight to dryer and straight away. Sometimes I fuck it up but it has been way better like this.
