Woo hoo! It's the second Bullet Journal thread! For the benefit of newbies - Bullet Journal is a brilliant way to organise your whole life in a lovely notebook. Perfect for anyone who has tried every app and every scheduling system but just can't seem to get on top of things. Also perfect for lovers of beautiful stationery and especially for people who like lists!

Sooo - get out your fineliners and your washi tape! Stroke your Leuchtturms! And get all that stuff that's whizzing round in your head out onto paper instead!

yay for scooter man!

Vistaverde · 29/02/2016 13:10

Kew I like the layout of your weekly tracker. I think I am going to do something similar.

Zing I like how colourful your pages are, I may be tempted by those highlighters as well.

I made my first bujo related purchase at the weekend of some page tabs to mark my most used pages. Glad I did as it has made things so much easier to find. It has also injected some much needed colour to my notebook. After seeing Zing's posts though I think I need some more.

AuntyMary · 29/02/2016 16:49

shameless page marking

TheVeryThing · 29/02/2016 17:15

I was in Lidl at the weekend, greedily eyeing up all the stationery stuff. I managed to restrict myself to a packet of stickers but keep thinking of the mini-highlighters. May have to stop off on the way home.

I'm very happy with the weekly planner approach, so far, and also pleased with my notebook cover.

It allows me to work on the journal while lounging around, and I can keep all my pens etc together (instead of losing them down the side of the sofa).

It also looks fairly professional for work. I'm just afraid I'll get bored with the colour and won't be able to justify a new one.

My ds1 mentioned yesterday that he would love a beanbag for his room, and then told me I need to put it in my journal!

mercifulTehlu · 29/02/2016 17:20

Wow - 280 post already! Bit of a busy day chez Tehlu but will catch up on the thread later when I have time for some BuJoWa activity. Loving the BuJoWa abbreviation btw! It sounds kind of ninja-like Grin.

I'm hoping the next BuJo thread will be one I can read at work

Clicking on the word "wanker" on the work PC doesn't strike me as a great idea!

It's the stationery recs I enjoy looking at really so I could just browse stationery and pretend it's for work Grin

Kewcumber · 29/02/2016 18:18

I might have succumbed to a mechanical pencil with a self sharpening mechanismin Rymans today... mebbe...

JeepersMcoy · 29/02/2016 20:09

ooo.. self sharpening mechanism you say...

I have just ordered some washi tape on amazon while I was buying some other stuff. Now I just have to wait ages for it to arrive before I can add prettiness to my BuJo. Humph!

Kewcumber · 29/02/2016 20:26

my "day" stamps arrived but no ink or stamping block so I'm just stroking looking at them

mercifulTehlu · 29/02/2016 20:29

lorelai9 I did wonder about the wisdom of having 'wankers' in the title Grin. Mind you, now we have the excellent BuJoWa abbreviation we need not worry!

Thanks to this BuJoWa threads, I got DH to buy boxes so I can tackle the memory boxes which need to go into the attic. Plus I went to Ikea and ONLY got the things I went in for...which is unheard of. So I now have new toy storage unit to build too.

So now I have two new jobs , sort memory boxes and do a complete toy and game declutter...wish me luck :)

MissingPanda · 29/02/2016 21:36

Liking BuJoWa Grin

I set up my BuJo to start in March and listed some tasks in the March Monthly to do list thingy. I got some of them done today so I'm ahead of myself Grin

mercifulTehlu · 29/02/2016 22:15

Good luck Babies!
MissingPanda - that's like some kind of mystic BuJoWa time wormhole anomaly thingy you've got going on there. Doing tasks, like, before they even exist as tasks... whoa Grin.

I'm glad you like my system!
I find colour coding essential.

I bought different coloured laundry baskets for each of us last year (plus 1 for socks & 1 for cleaning cloths) and it made laundry sorting sooo much easier!
Especially because this way I can nag encourage the kids to sort clothes - eldest 5 have ALL their uniforms & other clothes labelled, so they have no excuse not to get it right.
(DH, DD, MiniZing & my stuff are obvious too)
The 4 oldest are also responsible then for putting their own clothes away, I help DS5 & DD.
Shall I post photo of Laundry Basket Galore?

TheVeryThing

Would you mind showing your weekly set up please? A mock up will do, with no identifying details - just so I can see layout, if you don't mind.

Panda

Sounds like you have finally invented time travel! Brilliant!
Grin
I have to admit, yesterday I managed to do a few tasks before my pencil even hit the paper! [very smug]
Today I wasn't far off finishing stuff, but poor MIL fell ill and as we are staying at PILs' my planning for the whole day just blew up.
Doesn't matter though, I got the urgent stuff done.

Shetland · 01/03/2016 08:10

I do my laundry like that too zing It really does make life so much easier and my 3 year old knows which is which so can do her bit. I have one for each of us and a seperate one for school uniform.

I took great pleasure in setting up my BuJo for March - no colours yet but it starting to look tidier and the layouts working better so far.
I blatantly stole grey's reminders list which is fab so thank you for that grey 😄StarChocolate

I am definitely more efficient with this - hope it lasts! And colouring the 'done' box on my habit tracker is very motivating too :)

Greymalkin · 01/03/2016 08:48

Lol! That's ok Shetland! Help yourself

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 01/03/2016 09:07

The last 2 things DH asked me to do I replied "yep,on my list already"

Score!

Grin
Vistaverde · 01/03/2016 10:00

Zing and Shetland great tip re laundry. I have trained my 5 year old to put his washing in the basket but it would make life easier if he had his own basket.

I meant to sort clean clothes from the ever growing Mountain of Clothes (aka Mount Washmore).
but I guess it would work with dirty washing too, good idea to get your DS his own. Amazing what a 5 year old can do and they get so proud, feeling like big boys and girls Smile

Tesco, Wilko and other places have these big trugs, cost about a fiver. Sorry about airing my dirty laundry... Grin

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 01/03/2016 11:34

Tea

I've actually got a small pocket notebook for that exact reason, because my BuJo does not leave the house or the car! (My precious!)

Also I have just set up a text widget with my own phone number, so I can text myself when I need to jot something down, but can't write (raining or only one hand free etc).

SoupDragon · 01/03/2016 11:38

We each have a coloured collapsible crate for clean laundry. In theory the SmallDragons take their crate, put away the clean clothes and bring it back empty. What actually happens is that they dress out of the crate for a week before the backlog of clean laundry drives me mad and I shout at them to bring it back. sigh.

unlucky83 · 01/03/2016 11:39

I have dirty laundry bins in all bedrooms and one downstairs - good for stray socks you find under the sofa (or is that just my house?) gym kits as well as tea towels etc

I have a laundry day (Sunday) and get the majority done on that day - then aired/dried in tumble as nec and all put away by the end of the next (Mon) ....
I use those £1 pop up baskets for sorting laundry into colours for washing...so you don't have piles on the floor and then they store away easily until the next week...

Vistaverde · 01/03/2016 11:42

Zing Thinking about it that makes more sense. Currently I put all the washing away but you're right I need to train DS to do his own. I use a purple trug similar to that for our dirty washing. I find it a really good size as it doesn't allow the washing to pile up too much.

Tea I also have a little notebook that I carry about with me to note things. I also have a post it in the inside cover of my work Bujo in which I note personal things on as a reminder if I am in a meeting etc and therefore cannot access my notebook.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 01/03/2016 11:43

Soupy

I'm your daughter then, I do that..I've been known to dress straight from the tumble drier too
