Morning,

No missions, but I'm planning on doing the weekly clear up this morning to kick start me next week.

I've decided baby is actually ill, rather than just teething (up most of the night again, and wheezing )

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 07/10/2006 08:30

Morning all

Well I didnt do much yesterday, so thought i would make it up today.... until DH got home last night, set me up making cards and then went and totally fly'ed the kitchen, and cleared upstairs!!!

One less thing for me to do!

Off out today, so wont get a lot done, and not sure if im staying out overnight or not, so we may not get flying properly again until monday!!!

IvortheEngine · 07/10/2006 08:35

jasnetc - Sorry to hear your baby isn't well. Can you get a docs appointment today or not until Monday?

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 07/10/2006 08:35

Morning all I am back in at 13.15 today and will be finishing at 22.15 so I will try and get a bit of flying done with the children whilst dh is at work. Not sure why I am bothering as it will probably be a tip when I get in.

Not only was the livingroom a mess when I got home from work last night but when I went up to bed I found dd (4) asleep in her school uniform. When I checked her she was wet through so I had to get her up and sorted out without waking the baby. Baby for once was in a clean nappy and pj's before bed. It would appear that dd fell asleep on the sofa whilst he was sorting ds out. He didn't want to wake her up. So I had to at gone 1 in the morning to sort the poor little soggy princess out..

squatchette · 07/10/2006 10:46

Morning Flybabes,
Got up at 7am so didn't get the lie in i'd hoped for but hey that's todlers for you.Felt a bit ill after too much wine last night.I woke up on sofa still dressed .
Remember putting girls to bed about 10 o clock then i must have nodded off about 1am after saying night to MummySHOH who'd just finished work ,sorry to hear you're back in for a long shiftagain Mummy.
Not got going yet this morning made DDs scrambled eggs then porridge and DD2s just asked for her lunch already! She's having a bananna instead.
Wanted to go to a MN meet up a few miles away but it's at 12 and i'm having a kitchen table delivered around then so i'll have to stay in.Too tired anyway TBH.
Really need to tackle playroom today it just seems so pointless when i know what a tip it will be again by the next day.Going to do some crafts with DDS if they're good whilst we do playroom, resorting to bribes again!
Best go now need to get to post office before it closes to pay for table .Catch you all later

dislexicicecream · 07/10/2006 10:58

think i need some motervation today
been doing the fly lady thing for about 4 weeks , house looked grate even the kids room was keeping good !
i had my dp stay with me for a week (he lives in italy) and house slowly came un stuck ! scince he left on tuesday i have been knocked back with a lovely cold from hell, anyway today i have woken up and the house looks like i felt! i dont know where to start but i no i need to get it looking better,
my friend is early stages of labour today and wants to come round later and her ds is going to be staying with me for the next few nights!
god where do i start? the only tidy rooms i have right now is my bed room and the bath room.
isnt it amazing how fast a house can turn up sidedown?

mummyscaryhouseonthehill · 07/10/2006 11:22

dislexicicecream - baby step it sweetheart 15 mins at a time it's amazing how quick you can make a room look better. Try rescuing the rooms you know she will go into.

I am trying to cook a shepards pie for when I get in from work tonight can any one tell me if I need to put the mash on top whilst it's cooking in the slow cooker or should I keep it seperate and add before serving? Putting it on top of the base in the slow cooker would be easier for me as dh has to feed the kids tonight but I don't wan to ruin it iyswim.

Bucketsofbloodydinosaurs · 07/10/2006 11:53

I took DS to get his picture taken at DD's playschool this morning and we played in the park while I worked out a meal plan and shopping list. DH & DD have gone to town, not sure what for, nothing helpful to me.
Am now trying to keep him awake until after lunch so DH can get on with some painting and then I'll take DD to do the shopping, bank and library which DH won't have done.
Have also half-assedly cleaned my 8 hobs (I know!) but think they're going to need proper oven cleaner so I'll have to do them 2 at a time. Also making one final attempt at nice tasting bread in borrowed breadmaker.
At least neither of us are out tonight so maybe we can have a good date night like last Saturday (bottle of wine and watched Anchorman, so funny!).

Bucketsofbloodydinosaurs · 07/10/2006 11:56

Dys.ice.- just concentrate on making a nice sleeping place for the little boy, that's all his mum will be thinking about. Quick hoover etc.

shazdisembodiedronnie · 07/10/2006 12:16

mummyhill; I think you could put the mash on top in the slow cooker but it might sink and go too mushy.
I would make the mash, then tell DH to microwave it when it's time to dish up.

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 07/10/2006 13:54

Afternoon FLYers, The normaly Saturday here in the nutty house.

Sorry that baby is not well Jasnem. My DD seems to be ok now after her night of being sick the other night.

I went to have my date night here in MN but I lost internet and it would not connect up again. Sky was also messing about as well. I hate it when it keeps getting those stupid squares all over the picture or freezing up! I had my date night in the end with a DVD in bed!

Going out to the park soon with DC. Wellies and coats. The winter months are nearly here DS2 loves it though, he can now go out to get wet and covered in mud. He seems to love that!

Hope everyone have a good weekend.

Pennies · 07/10/2006 17:30

We move house on Friday afterwhich I will start to FLY!! Do I need a hallowe'en name to do it tho?!

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 07/10/2006 17:35

Hi Pennies. You dont have too have a hallowe'en name. Its just something that happens on MN this time of year. I found out a week or so ago. Its FUN to do .

I dont know about anyone else but I am having trouble with the net My line keeps droping and then I cant load pages (ish)

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 07/10/2006 17:46

We had a great time at the park. Ds2 did not want to come home. He knew it was going to be in and have a bath.
I have not done anything today. I will have the D/W going after tea and I will clean the work tops and sink. I am hoping that DC will help with packing away the toys/books that are all over the lounge floor. I cant see what colour my carpet is at the mo. DD has been playing in the toy tubs. I think I will just get her a big pink tub for christmas lol.

TortUREoiseChamber · 07/10/2006 17:47

Hello all.
Did you miss me? LOL!
Finally, after many attempts, managed to get internet connection last night about 7pm.Then the f*ing electric went off! I played card games with ds's then red stories to them in my bed.Luckily DD's were already asleep. DS's didn't want to go in their beds in the dark so had them both in with me until 3am! Electric came on at about 1am.
Busy day with Childrens carnival this afternoon. Was good fun and enjoyed by the dc.
So no FLYing done today!!
Sorry your baby is ill jas.

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 07/10/2006 18:32

Hi tortoise. I had problems lastnight with the net I gave up in the end. Sorry you had a power cut. We still don't know why we had one the other night.
The children's carnival sounds a fun idea. We don't get nothing like that here. I did go to the Bridgewater one when I was very heavily pg with DD. If was great!! A very long afternoon/night but it was well worth it

TortUREoiseChamber · 07/10/2006 19:14

They had a great time!
here they are!!
Maybe a Tiscali problem last night if you had net problems too. I would of been ok if elec hadn't gone off.Missed 2 items on Ebay that i needed for ds's as well!

batinshoes · 07/10/2006 19:14

hi everyone,

sorry dd is poorly Jas.

i got my haircut this morning. v pleased. dh had dd which was nice but my planned shopping trip was cut short as i felt feint so dh has let me sleep and rest this afternoon

dh cleaned the last 2 rooms with the carpet cleaner today so that can go away for 3 months now. its really made a difference to the carpets.

i have inlaws coming tomorrow so have just picked up all the toys and i think, thanks to flying, for the first time ever!!!! all i need to do is a quick hoover downstairs before they come and the place will look fine. how cool is that.

have a good evening all.

squatchette · 07/10/2006 19:29

Evening everybody,
Glad you enjoyed the carnival Tort sounded fun.Hazelnut we don't get anything like that either .There used to be a carribean carnival here(Preston,Lancs) but it's gone a bit hit and miss in recent years.

Went for a short walk with DD earlier, weather crap but we were conker hunting so now the living room is conker central i'll be finding them everywhere now for weeks.

New dining table came (second hand £20 out of local paper). It's a pine one with little benches iykwim,it could have been made to measure.Man dropped it off for free as well so total bargain so is my kitchen now a kitchen /diner?

Maybe the girls can learn some table manners now. It's like feeding time at the zoo here sometimes. We made mini kebabs with salad stuff cheese ham sausages etc earlier, and fruit ones with whippy cream for pud.Used coctail sticks and let DDs attempt self assembly but got a bit messy and dangerous so i did it in the end.

Fly wise been a bit lax but done some washing and quick pick ups so don't care as it is weekend and there's always tomorrow.Playroom still NOT donesomeone give me a kick up the rear and make me do it.Spent a while on Kays website choosing a cooker for kitchen too anything basicaly to avoid doing that bloody playroom.

TortUREoiseChamber · 07/10/2006 19:38

What a bargain squatchette!
We have a big illuminated carnival next saturday night that goes round the town.Big floats with lots of lights and music and mad people dancing dressed up!

TortUREoiseChamber · 07/10/2006 19:39

Oh and apparently(sp) spiders don't like conkers so having them around is better to me than spiders.

squatchette · 07/10/2006 19:46

Hi Tort, kids look fab is that the fluffy outfit off ebay?
Glad to hear that about the spiders as have a real problem with giant tarantula types at mo.
Was emptying bin this afternoon and guess what crawled out on me it looked like the same one that sat on my knee in the loo the other day. DP keeps putting them outside but.... they come back-cue twilight zone music derderderderderderderder!

TortUREoiseChamber · 07/10/2006 19:51

Yes thats the fluffy outfit of Ebay! She only just fits in it! Might end up back on Ebay soon!
We had a big spider yesterday.I moved my coat and it ran across the floor.I was jumping around shrieking I need something to hit it with!!
I don't release them!Don't want them back in.

Beccarolloveragain · 07/10/2006 19:53

Hi everyone

I am so excited!!

After being sick of my bathroom for ages we have made some little changes to it that are going to be much, much better.

Have swapped old gold taps, plugs and toilet flush for chrome. New sparkly toilet seat. New silver shower rather than old gold one and new shiny sparkly shower screen and bath panel.

Also putting new black tile floor down.

It hasnt cost much (much less than if we were going to do a full refit) but starting to look a lot better.

Its not finished yet - DH is up there boxing in the pipes that always get really fluffy so they are easier to clean.

Its so SAD but I cant WAIT to swish and swipe my new room!

Going to give it a really, really thorough clean when its done then get back to the once a day quick once over.

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 07/10/2006 19:55

They look really cute Tortoise. Maybe you are right about Tiscali. I have had some problems tonight too

Well done batinshoes. My FLY has stopped for the weekend.

squatchette, there are people that are trying there best to get the Bridgewater carnival stopped. They have not done so yet but they try every year. I would love to go there again.

I just Had a hot bath. DC all in bed before 7PM tonight. DD went to sleep on me and DS1 went to sleep on the sofa and DS2 was not far off from falling asleep, so I put them to bed.
