to hoover.mop house in 10 minute sthat is, not fo rbaby in a bumbo (although, how much fun woudl that be!!)

Jasnem · 04/09/2006 14:37

My poor baby spends too much time in that bumbo on the worktop (is it educational watching me wash up?) At least its a clean work top.

I can hoover in ten mins (middle of floor only as per flylady - its a very small house) Mopping takes longer though.

Jasnem · 04/09/2006 14:39

Thankyou for cute baby comments.
I'm off yo hoover and mop as I'm unexpectedly daughter free for a couple of hours.

JessaJam · 04/09/2006 14:40

10 mins hoovering - middle of room only- does the hallway, living room and stairs and maybe dining room. That leaves the kitchen (major project) and all of upstairs. I may have to convert the magazine sorting time to hoovering time.

tortoise · 04/09/2006 14:40

We are off to park. Not that i feel like it but i did promise!

misdee · 04/09/2006 14:43

will do blessing after school run, the young uns are going to do their own bedroom. properly. not all shoved under the bed this time.

SKYTVADICT · 04/09/2006 14:48

I need to get off the computer now and go and make the DDs beds and do 15 mins decluttering in the kitchen but feel I've done so much already today I can't seem to find the motivation!!

mummy2ashton · 04/09/2006 14:48

oh bugger, kitchen is now full of half unpacked suit cases. will take me ages to sort out!

SKYTVADICT · 04/09/2006 14:51

Holidays are great aren't they m2A?

But coming home and washing not so good. DDs due back tonight from a long weekend away and I think they will have loads of washing.

Going to go now and get on !!

mummy2ashton · 04/09/2006 15:08

wish i never bloody went now! its just been such a hassle! note to self, no more holidays while ds is a toddler!

Flamesparrow · 04/09/2006 15:21

Well she's back......... with a potato bag

Got hooks to hang the thing up (and DD's toy hammocks), but can't get at the drill cos of said cupboard of mayhem...

The hoovering takes me more than 10 mins (by the time you include stairs)... .my mum is going with the theory of there being less carpetting in the US, so it takes em less time.

DH gave my mum very concerned looks yesterday... she came in, went to put DD's stuff down on the table and said "Oooh, is that a hot spot?" and moved it away

Wisp - Urgh is about all I can say to your last few weeks!!!

The blessing... I have divided it up across the week.

shazronnie · 04/09/2006 15:59

i think you lot are all trying to bless your house too perfectly.
Flylady says 10 minutes, then STOP! I can only vac downstairs, and maybe my bedroom in 10 mins, so that is all I do.

Blessing is a quick going over to tackle the worst of the mess on a weekly basis, and I seem to get quicker each week!

As for magazines, i do those in the same 10 mins as take out trash.

Cute baby in Bumbo BTW jasnem, complimented by tidy kitchen!

But shazronnie when will FLYlady let me hoover the parts of my house i can't get to in the 10 minutes? I can't not hoover them until they are the zone!!!

We have pets, and a crawling ds, hoovering is important!

shazronnie · 04/09/2006 16:06

And Cod - you are not entering into the spirit at all!
I think you are only on this thread as part of a master plan to usurp Flylady and crown yourself queen fairy!!

OP posts:
shazronnie · 04/09/2006 16:08

JJ i think flylady would say build 15 mins of hoovering into your routines - eg Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
She would not want you to vac the whole house at once in case you couldn't be bothered to start!

Thank you FLYlady-by-proxy!!

Aha! The voice of reason Shazronnie!

I have done most of my home blessing.

Have emptied bins, hoovered all of downstairs and polished and dusted. Gonna do sheets just before bed.

Flamesparrow · 04/09/2006 16:36

My fridge and freezer are a work of art. My hoovering still needs doing, but DS is once again asleep (methinks he is coming down with something... he is sleeping too much today )

shazronnie · 04/09/2006 16:39

Oh dear Flamesparrow; hope he isn't charging his batteries for a full night's misery

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 04/09/2006 16:44

Silly not to the night before school runs start

tortoise · 04/09/2006 17:16

We are back from town and park.
I have a new pillow and we also have 2 new toy tubs.

Am about to lose it with dd's.The fighting and arguing is getting to me as it results in crying fits from dd2.AAAARRRRGGGGGHHYHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

sorkycake · 04/09/2006 17:18

I reckon I will keep it up

I like the idea that I only have to do one thing at once rather than panic about getting the whole house sorted

I'm definitely a lot less harassed; I like someone else telling me what to do and then I don't have to think about it. There are more exciting things to carry round in your head than whether or not the top of your fridge should be next, or if you should start on the skirting boards...
