domestickler · 07/09/2006 19:50

HELP ME flyers

It is DS 3rd birthday today.

This is a three pronged problem

a) He got a HUGE amount of stuff so masses more to store and tidy

b) I had a party for him and the house is DESTROYED

c) Ive been run ragged and now have seriously sore throat, swollen glands and shattered

Could seriously cry, this is my first slip up since we started day 1 on babysteps

AmandaP · 07/09/2006 19:58

Large cup of tea, a good dose of TV, a quick sink shining, then early to bed. Tomorrow will be another day and you'll feel better and more able to cope with it then!

hazelnuts · 07/09/2006 20:12

Sorry to ask, but where di I find the babysteps thingy. Sounds really great and I could do with something to keep me going.

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 07/09/2006 20:14

Dome It can wait until the morning.
You had a busy day and need to sit and rest.
Toy wise are there any of the old ones which can now go away to make room for new stuff?
Im slowly doing this with dd's toys before xmas!

20 items added to Ebay now!!!

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 07/09/2006 20:15

hazelnuts Look on FLY lady web site(link at the start of thread) there is a section there saying about baby steps.

tamsino · 07/09/2006 20:22

dome - leave it until the morning.

I am so proud. I just sorted my plasticky thingy drawer in the kitchen. hurrah. should i have done one of kelly's missions if i'm only on day 8?

hazelnuts · 07/09/2006 20:47

Thanks tortoise. I have not look from the start of this thread, busy reading the others. Some good bits in here in MN.

hazelnuts · 07/09/2006 21:15

calebsmummy · 07/09/2006 21:24

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 07/09/2006 21:24

Congratulations!
I hope you enjoy FLYing!
Im bored with adding to Ebay now!! 24 done today. Was taking ages, expect it was busy today.
House has suffered though!

shazronnieWEARINGSHOES · 07/09/2006 21:29

tamsino - we all got carried away and did missions too soon; the most important thing is not to try and do too much and get burn out.

tamsino · 07/09/2006 21:36

thanks shazronnie,

unfortunately i opened a kitchen cupboard 1/2 hour ago and a whole open bag of rice fell out. it went everywhere. all over the floor, hob, sink, (my basket hotspot in the kitchen

i cant believe it. dh is out and my pregnant hormones got the better of me. i've just managed to get it all cleared up....

calebsmummy · 07/09/2006 22:00

I hot spotted the landing tonight

It's all nice and clear now. I was going to sort the little ones clothes, but they decided they needed mummy, so who was I to complain.

I have had a few set back days when I have come downstairs in the mroning to an unFLYed kitchen. I don't know if anyone else feels like this, but when my kitchen is clean in the morning, it spurs me into doing other things.

I did 15 minutes in the playroom this morning too, but I need so much more time in there.

Does anyone find it hard to stick to the 15 minute rule. I do like to finish something once I've started. I'm going to have to list my hotspots and deal with them one by one.

  1. Wardrobes need decluttering and then I know they will be neat and tidy.

  2. Shoe cupboard....arrggghhh...need I say more.

  3. Playroom, which has been started, but I need to go through the boys toys and sort out what they don't play with anymore.

  4. Need bookshelves desperately (but that problem is partly to do with having not long moved here so sorting storage thingys out.

  5. Garage...hmmm, I try not to go in there too much..DH's domain so he can sort it

  6. Need to buy even more storage boxes etc, so I can sort the utility room.

Oh there are loads more, but I will start with these.

I think everyone here has done so well.
I especially like the before and after piccies, I become very proud of you all when I see them [shame]

Flame I am determined that when you next come to my house you WILL be allowed to inspect my cupboards...just don't come tomorrow

Keep going ladies, each and every one of you is doing great. Even if you don't feel like you have done a lot, you have done something, so thats fantastic.

hazelnuts · 07/09/2006 22:41

tortoise Its sound like you have been busy anyway as you should be get some things out of the way. I just had a hot bath. DD is having her last milk then bed again, then I am off to bed myself. Up at 7am to get ready for the school run. See you all again tomorrow FLYers.

SusiS · 08/09/2006 06:46

morning ladies! had a bad night; dd kept me up with her teeth 'sigh' - br
oh well, new day - and it IS nice coming down to a shiny sink

partly dressed only and not hair or face done - but i had to grab dd and take her down; didn't want her to wake ds with her shouting! (hope that's excuse enough?!?!?!?)
will get dressed and made up properly once ds is up and fed - promised!

SusiS · 08/09/2006 06:48

calebsmum i like your list of 'desperate hotspots'!! but i do like lists in general

hmmmm shouldn't take me too long to get it together ...

basically every room needs doing something. they all look tidyish but don't look any closer - have to list the details; maybe that'll help me!

DontlookatmyfeetImshoeless · 08/09/2006 07:16

Morning ladies.
Welcome to the newbies.

SusiS - I think theres a couple more of us suffering with teething nightmares at the moment.

I am upand dressed to but not sorted face or hair.I am dying it later and apparently your supposed to it on unwashed hair so thats my excuse lol.

I must be doing something right in the kitchen zone this week cos dh came in from work and said "Ooo sparkley and clean kitchen"

It's not even finished yet but i feel all extra inspired now to keep going and get it done.

mummyhill · 08/09/2006 07:20

Don't talk to me about teething!

DontlookatmyfeetImshoeless · 08/09/2006 07:25

Has it been a bad night mummyhill?

shazronnieWEARINGSHOES · 08/09/2006 07:26

Good morning! i'm not dressed yet, waiting for DH to finish in the shower.

I was doing so well, but all of a sudden my ironing pile is back to monstrous proportions, so I guess that's my job for this pm when DS2 is having a nap.

today's mission is sort out cupboard under sink. i did that last month so mine is still quite good [smug]

Good list calebsmummy; might have to do one myself...

How are you doing TrinityRhino? Just 10 minutes remember...

trinityrhino · 08/09/2006 07:31

yay I did my kitchen sink a cvouple weeks back because dd2 would not stop getting the stuff out (there are no doors, they're broken) so I sifted through all the suff, chucked the junk and rehomed in a cupboard WITH doors

yay I've done a mission

trinityrhino · 08/09/2006 07:33

thanks for asking shaz, still got this stinking cold but I'm determined to beat the laundry little chunk by little chunk and the sorting of old, unloved stuff for charity is also a must and is going to happen right alongside the laundry so I have drawers to put thye clean stuff in

Flamesparrow · 08/09/2006 08:06

pmsl @ being able to go through CM's cupboards... Can I just assure everyone that this is HER mad desire, and that I haven't been hassling her to let me see in every corner of her house

No FLYing yet - most of the main bits (kitchen/lounge) are fairly straight... can't put on washing because I don't know when I'll be home to sort it out, and I'd rather not do it, than have it soggy in the machine all day iyswim.

Anyone else now completely paranoid that if they DON't shine their sink (or at least clear it) before bed one night, that the whole system will fall apart beyond all repair?!?! Or am I just insane???

Out most of the day.

Yay to Rhino getting more sorted, and hugs for the cold.
