its a 9 in 1 steam mop and it is the most fun ive had cleaning in ages! my home is now hygienically steamed....no mean feat with dogs, cats, rats, kids....

its this one

its fab.
its got emulsion of window frames, the cupboard fronts were so easy it was a joy, the hob, the stainless steel splashback, the fridge, the floors, the tiles, the shower door.....all sparkling and done in seconds.

it was a cleaning revelation.
im now addicted to steaming stuff....including my thumb...which is dont recommend cos that hurts.

the reviews are not wrong on this one....
(morphy richards - commission please!)

Thanks Mrswibble - I think if I had to wait 25mins I'd never start again. My enthusiasm for cleaning runs out very quickly! Grin

mswibble · 01/06/2014 23:39

To be fair I do get a fair bit of steaming done in one tank. I cleaned an entire (filthy) shower cubicle, toilet, sink and tiles on one tankfull. Depends how big your jobs are I suppose. Im hoping that a mahoosive deep clean will eventually lead to just needing a quick steam every week to keep everything sparkling so I'll be able to speed through the house. One tankfull for upstairs - bathroom and bedroom. Then another for kitchen and freshening the living room curtains and sofa.

Coughle · 02/06/2014 06:02

I've ordered it.

I'm so excited. I haven't felt like this since the day the Roomba came home.

I don't even live in the UK. It'll take 2 weeks to get here!!

millimat · 02/06/2014 08:12

I want one, I want one, I want one!! Only problem is that as another post said, I already have 2! Yes but cheap, buy twice! The floor one is quite good but prob takes longer to mop than with a traditional mop and bucket. Don't think it leaves it as dry as this one.
The handheld one was from aldi and a waste of time. V heavy. Steam isn't hot when it comes out and it just pushes dirt from one place to somewhere else. I really want to whiten the grouting between the tiles.

Chocolateporridge · 02/06/2014 14:14

I've ordered one! I'm going into hospital for an op tomorrow so this will be something to look forward to when I get out! How sad am I? Blush

BeetRooster · 02/06/2014 15:14

chocolate - we understand Wink

EBearhug · 02/06/2014 20:06

You are all welcome to come to mine to test one out, if you're not sure before you buy.

You can start by testing it in the bathroom, then the kitchen, including inside the oven, and all the windows...

(If you could do it before I have a guest staying over at the weekend... I mean, I don't want you all to delay the enthusiasm in this thread.)

< hopeful look >

Actually, I'd rather be doing the cleaning than be as bored as I was at work today. So if someone wants to do my work, I can do the steam-cleaning.

PocketFluff · 02/06/2014 23:56

Gah! Mine still hasn't arrived and I ordered it back on page three.

I've got floors that have been dirty since Thursday April that I've been putting off cleaning.

wannaBe · 03/06/2014 14:10

well, I ordered one and it arrived today.

But I have to say that I cannot get the cloth to stay on the floor attachment even though it cleans well when it's on it stays on for maybe a minute or two before coming off and as such I am thus not overly impressed.

I bought the mop because am constantly having to clean my kitchen floor and I spend a ridiculous amount on detergents.

fedupdownhere · 03/06/2014 15:05

if you have a condenser dryer my repair man assures me the water that collects in the container is Ionised so would be good for the steam mops and also free :) I love my steam mop but would like to upgrade to one with hand held bits but not sure which one to get

Triathlonwannabe · 03/06/2014 18:02

Finally gave into the peer pressure after lurking on this thread for ages and have ordered mine! I have two Labradors (who are shedding), two children and am always battling a sea of mud and fur. Really hoping this will be my saviour.

millimat · 03/06/2014 18:29

Well inspired by this thread, I got out my cheap also steam cleaner and cleaned the oven. Its now sparkling! I wouldn't say it was any easier / quicker than using oven cleaner, but the novelty factor works for me.
Couldn't get the metal racks clean that way though?

CompanionCube · 03/06/2014 20:25

Well I just used lots of 1001 carpet stain remover and the steam cleaner on a horrible dark patch of carpet and it is looking so much better. Not completely gone but I will have another go with it. I wasn't expecting it to be so effective.

NCISaddict · 03/06/2014 21:19

I am expecting my steam cleaner tomorrow and am so looking forward to it. We've just moved to a house with laminate flooring throughout plus ceramic tiles in kitchen and bathroom. Actually looking forward to cleaning.

ThatVikRinA22 · 04/06/2014 01:26

well i have tried mine again today. i did the entire kitchen, cupboards, work tops, tiles, window, splash backs, hob, floor and then did the living room and hall floors, patio doors, followed by a deep clean in the bathroom which consisted of tiles, floors, taps, windows and window sill, shower door, grout, sealant, along the bath panels (the grime!!! )

im still impressed.

its the only thing ive found that gets grime out of nooks and crannies and the stuff that comes off the toilet seat hinges is worth it alone.....

i love this machine. i really do, and i shall start saving my condenser dryer water!
i did all of this with one tank of water and some still to spare....
i love it. the satisfaction of deep cleaning is worth it alone....

Can I use it on hairy dogs and teenaged sons? Grin

ThisIsNotMyHat · 04/06/2014 17:52

It arrived! I've been a bit short of time today so I've just tried it out on the wooden floors, the downstairs bathroom and a couple of windows but so far so good. I do find it a bit heavy and I don't think the lead is long enough - I resorted to an extension lead. I also find it doesn't work too well on the kitchen floor tiles because they're bumpy. WIll try again at the weekend when I have more time!

Vicar, what attachment did you use for the toilet hinges? I tried the straight nozzle just to blast them and then the small, straight brush attachment but I think I could do better! :)

eosmum · 04/06/2014 17:54

Mine just arrived off to test in the bathroom, I may be gone some time:)

LIZS · 04/06/2014 17:58

yes I find the lead a bit short too.

Greenrememberedhills · 04/06/2014 18:10

Wannabe, you see the round nozzle/button in the corner. When you have it on the mop, pull the elastic through it to tighten it
Personally it's the attachments I struggle with.

HesterShaw · 04/06/2014 18:15

Mine still hasn't come. They keep trying to deliver while I'm out, then coming back the next day, on a working day, when would you believe it, I'm STILL out! Now they want me to drive 30 miles to get it.

This mop had better be good.

Doingakatereddy · 04/06/2014 18:19

Mines arrived but been too busy to use it Sad

That will all change tomorrow when I have precious hold free morning and I will clean. I'm so bloody excited!!

PocketFluff · 04/06/2014 18:35

Mine's arrived! Unfortunately I'm now snowed under with school report writing so it may be a while before I do more than the (very) bare essential cleaning. Should be a lovely lot of grot to shift by then Smile

NCISaddict · 04/06/2014 18:50

Mine's arrived and I've done the kitchen floor so far, the filth Blush and we've only been in the house just over a week. Will have a go at the bathrooms tomorrow. I have used an extension lead too but then I'd have to use that for the hoover unless I was to plug/unplug it.

ThatVikRinA22 · 04/06/2014 23:15

I.have loads of plug points so.i.just move it with me from room to room. I use the angled nozzle for the loo and toilet seat hinges. it concentrates the steam and really blasts them, my loo is quite new but the stuff that comes off the hinges! !Envy clearly the men in my house aren't a good aim......I really love using it. I had one but if tiled floor under the washing machine that was discoloured after a leak.....got it as new within seconds using the hand held bit and a brush attachment. also did round the very edges if the kitchen between the tiled floor and the kick boards. ....the satisfaction of watching the grime disappear is fab!
