I've just put away loads of washed holiday clothes, including my dreaded sock-sorting, but have a massive pile of ironing scaring me.

Tried to do 5-minutes of rescuing in our office/loft but the mess is so big and so deep and so tall, I can not clear it up, there is no way at all.

Downstairs is good though. DH has mown the lawn and we will get there.

Trinity, I think you are expecting too much of yourself. Having an 'off' day, or two, or even week is no reason to berate yourself...don't panic about having too many clothes. Spend 15 minutes, clear a drawer at a time. Do you need to keep them, as hand-me-downs for younger children? If so, get an underbed storage bag/box, or even just a cardboard box, or a bin bag. Shove stuff to keep in there and shove under a bed...

If you don't need to keep the, shove in bin bag, put in car, drop off in nearest charity shop when you get the chance.

Baby steps, you are not behind...etc etc etc

JessaJam · 03/09/2006 13:12

Bear in Big Blue House is very cool!
Also saw the DoodleBops...which ds was entranced by...but I found a little retro-freaky!

shazronnie · 03/09/2006 17:07

only basic flying in my house today; looking forward to tomorrow and going back to kitchen zone!! Mine is still tidy so will be able to tackle inside the cupboards and detailed cleaning.

Think i will have to stop the uk emails though - they are too boring (no exciting testimonials and attempts to sell you office in bag) and just make my inbox huge!

tortoise · 03/09/2006 17:41

Ive just been pottering around picking bits up etc.
But I have cooked a roast!Roast spuds, carrots, roast parsnips and pork.
I normally only do roast on xmas day!
Im thinking of doing it weekly now(even though DD1 and DD2 probably won't eat it!)

Hi all had an hectic weekend here.

SIL came round and helped us to get rid of knackered sofa and chair, we now have a three and a two seater sofa instead. Whislt she was hewre we blitzed the living room and the kitchen. She phoned this morning regarding some bed room furniture that was going begging. Then turned up half an hour later to help blitz my room. We threw out all the broken units and loads of junk that had accumulated. Filled a vewry large trailer three time!!! I now have to put everything away in the new wardrobe unit etc.

sheepgomeep · 03/09/2006 19:36

your all doing so well

wish I could say the same about myself. I just found out that I'm pregnant and I've lost my handbag

It's got all my cards in it. My house is a tip again and I just can't get sorted.

Help!!!

JessaJam · 03/09/2006 19:39

I took a bag of bottles to the bottle bank today (that counted as my hot spot work) and I spent 15 minutes rescuing my dining room table (a bit) from all the accumulated paperwork. Obviously it isn't finished, or clear, but i have done something with it and that is enough. I will not give in to my 'perfectionism' and be put off by the fact the table is still covered in paper...at least it is in neat piles according to what it refers to...that is progress...

tortoise · 03/09/2006 19:43

Congrats sheepgomeep.Hope you find you bag though.

My first post on here. Have organised all paperwork today and bought one of those home organiser box files; so everything is now filed in a sensible order. Dp was very impressed as that's not at all like me! I've also managed to keep my wardrobe beautifully arranged for a whole week - next stop - the "bits and bobs" drawer!

tortoise · 03/09/2006 20:07

Hi janeite. Well done on your hard work.Keep it now!
