morning, I've been up since 7 but I feel asamed to say that I have been avpiding the flying threads cause I'm failing

AmandaP · 21/08/2006 09:05

I'm here! Actually, I'm feeling a bit smug this morning having seen the zone this week .... I spent two hours yesterday sorting out our bedroom and it's already looking so much better! Having said that, there is still a lot to do so I'll stop being smug and go and get dressed!

Good luck tortoise - we'll be thinking of you

shazronnie · 21/08/2006 09:06

Ok I am about to bless my home, as soon as I've had a cuppa!

For anyone who who like to join us here is the flylady website

This week we are in the master bedroom zone, so set your timers...off we go!

shazronnie · 21/08/2006 09:07

trinity, you are not failing, you are setting your standards too high; just babysteps remember!

OP posts:
AmandaP · 21/08/2006 09:08

trinityrhino - don't avoid the thread - we can re-motivate you!! Try and see it that you are not failing, you have just had a difficult day when you didn't achieve what you wanted (or several difficult days!)

Today is the start of a new week - how about just going back to the babysteps (sorry but I can't remember who long you've been doing this so you might still be on them) - just do the getting dressed, swish & swipe or whatever its called, and shine your sink? And if that's all you do all day, then well done - let's face it, it's more than some people will achieve today!

Keep smiling

trinityrhino · 21/08/2006 09:09

thanks shaz, right my sink will be shining by lunchtime and i will be dressed to the shoes

AmandaP · 21/08/2006 09:09

shazronnie - what is the home blessing thing? I know I should look it up, I'm being lazy! Sorry!

trinityrhino · 21/08/2006 09:15

I reaaly don't want to avoid the threads, I think Flylady is great and if I could get it together I think it wouold really work. At the mo all I seem to do is make sure the kids have food and sit on mumsnet, My head hurts, my back aches, I feel sick all the time, I'm scared of no3 coming along, dd2 doesn't sleep, I feel like I havdn't slept in weeks.
Literally I crawled down the stairs at 7 this morning and put dd2 in her highchair , reclined in front of the telly and gave her milk, dd1 got herself some cereal and I made toast for myself to try and stop feeling sick. then I switched on the laptop and have been here ever since. dd2 is now playing on the floot, tv is still on, noone dressed. the kitchen probably needs a health warning, the kids haven't had a bath for 2 days, I smell, my hair is in knots but \i just keep putting it ion a ponytail and ignoring it, the house is covered in dirty and clean clothes, i can't find anytghing, I'm not organised for dd1 to go back to school, I haven't5 changed dd1's bum since she got up. she has only had milk and not breakfast, I AM SHIT AND I HATE MYSELF

MeAndMyBoy · 21/08/2006 09:16

Morning FLYladies - can I join pls. I have just started maternity leave and am running a home based business full time now, but have been watching this thread all last week with interest. My house definately needs some TLC.

I have managed to get dressed and take DS to nursery so far this morning as well as repling to 10 emails - but in FLYing terms don't think this counts lol.

longwaytogo · 21/08/2006 09:16

I want to join but my bedroom has to be the worst room of the house right now - typical. As I read the declutter bit i thought 'oh thats a shame I haven't got three boxes' but then remembered I just unpacked the Avon order so yes I have and have no excuse. So do I sit here or go tackle it and if so for how long? Because I think its going to take a while.

AmandaP · 21/08/2006 09:19

trinityrhino - I wish I could come and give you a big hug!

Sorry if I'm missing out on anything, but when you say you are feeling sick, is that morning sickness?

MeAndMyBoy · 21/08/2006 09:20

Oh trinity I wish I could come round and just give you half an hour to go and lie in the bath {{hugs}}.

trinityrhino · 21/08/2006 09:21

yup morning sickness

trinityrhino · 21/08/2006 09:22

sorry, I didn't mean to dump my crap on you

AmandaP · 21/08/2006 09:27

Hey, we've got broad shoulders!

Don't beat yourself up too much. Morning sickness is hideous.

If you can manage it, how about just setting some really small targets such as ... brush hair, get dressed (even if it is into a tracksuit, or clean pj's), and get the children dressed and fed. Then I'm sure you will feel a bit better. If the sickness passes at all, then you can do a little bit more later in the day. And if it doesn't, don't worry.

(just for the record, I'm still in my pj's as are the children, the dogs are unwalked and unfed, the guinea pig unfed, and the horses are being fed by a friend this morning, so I don't exactly feel like I'm flying!!)

Do you have anyone around you who can help with the kids at all while you feeling so sick?

trinityrhino · 21/08/2006 09:30

hubby is tryong to help as much as he can but he's suffering from depression too, worried about money, just about to leave the navy, has insmnia badly, is trying to work on his boiler business to get it up and running, has tinnitus, really has trouble sleeping. takes the kids quite a bit but then I just sleep which doesn't help the house or my cleanliness ugh sorry, I should just get a grip but I don't know how
gonna try and find a harbrush and drag it through my hair

AvaLou · 21/08/2006 09:35

I used to find it really difficult to declutter so started packing things into boxes and storing them at the back of the airing cupboard. Then after two months when I hadn't wanted anything out of them I just got DH to take it to the charity shop.
It's amazing what a decluttered house can do for your mood, and it makes cleaning so much easier too.

MeAndMyBoy · 21/08/2006 09:36

You're not dumping your crap on us - just having a rant and we all do it . Morning sickness is pants and I was exhausted the whole time as well so did precisely nothing and that was without having 2 children to look after so don't beat yourself up.

SKYTVADICT · 21/08/2006 09:48

Good morning all and a hug for trinityrhino, I hated morning sickness and as I am ttc was wondering how I would be able to fly feeling like that! We will see!

I am up and dressed to shoes which I shall take off shortly as DD2 has been quite loudly telling me "no shoes in the house mummy". Just going to shine my sink and get ready to go out.

I am only on day 3, can I take part in the zone as well or would that be jumping ahead?

Anyway going out for the day so may fit 15 mins in the bedroom later.

Quootiepie · 21/08/2006 09:50

mummy2ashton · 21/08/2006 09:51

trinity dont feel bad, morning sickness is a real bitch. when i had it, i used to come home from work, go to bed, get dp to wake me up for tea and go back to bed again, i never did a single thing in the house for months! and i never had children to look after either.

just take baby steps. do one thing at a time, dont bother looking at the big picture cos then it seems overwhelming. even if you do one thing today its more than alot of people!

(((hugs)))

Quootiepie · 21/08/2006 09:53

I had to say that twice! lol. Im not FLYing today... but I changed my sheets yesterday, so I guess im ahead Tortoise, good luck for today, hope it goes well xxx

mummy2ashton · 21/08/2006 09:53

i am dressed to shoes, but im about to leave the house, got my boob group this morning (aka breastfeeding support group), then i gotta get some things for going away. sink is shiney and hoovering done. when i come home gotta de clutter bedroom (omg what a job that will be!) and mop kitchen floor. im knackered just thinking about it!
