I joined yesterday, will read lots later, but quickie... is there any way to change the email timezones?? I had one at about 4am telling me to go to bed, and I was in bed before I got my sink shiney one (which is gleaming nicely and DH is scared to touch it!!!)

OK I've finally joined Flylady. I've been watching these threads with interest, and have finally taken the plunge. As I speak, my printer is spitting out my cleaning lists. I hope with these threads to encourage me I won't fail miserably after my first burst of enthusiasm.

I only joines saturday and I was wondering if we could change the time zone thing. I will read answers with interest.

I'm up, swished and swipes (both loos/sinks), dresses and just having breakfast at PC.

Only doing day 4 but will probably add 15 mins of decluttering in bedroom

she has her lunch money, gym kit, snack, pencil case and was excited,
got dd2 to nursery on time, with lunch so doing ok,
haven't brushed my hair yet and I;m still being stupid about the control journal(haven't got any nice papaer, wheres a pen, what if I get it wrtong agggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)

TR don't panic about the control journal; it's not supposed to be a work of art!!
Well done for getting school and nursery sorted!

I've only done basics today; get dressed, shoes, washing, dishwasher, swish and swipe - although it sounds quite impressive listed like that!

My control journal is a notebook.

Not really sure what I'm supposed to write in it so I have just written the baby steps each day (which isn't necessary to do cos some of them aren't relevant!!) and the morning & evening routine so far.

This is what I've done:

Page 1......
Morning Routine
~Get up and dressed to lace up shoes, fix your face and hair.
~Read 2 minutes of reminders.
~Change the negative voices and FLY!
~Put out your HotSpots for 2 minutes.
~Do a 5 minute Room Rescue.
~Have a 15 minute declutter each day.
~Make your bed

Page 2....
Before Bed Routine
~Shine your sink.
~Lay out your clothes for tomorrow.
~Put out another Hot Spot for 2 minutes.

When you look at it written down (control journal) it is actually a relief.....no need to do all the extras yet....all we need to be doing is basically....make the bed and do 24 minutes of housework and then shine the sink!!!

Put like that....it's totally do-able!!

Im a serial messy person and hate it. Im now coming up to my third week of clean and tidy(ish) house which is a record for me!

Since starting I have kept my kitchen tidy for 3 weeks - because I don't like mess around my shiny sink!

I find it easy to concentrate on 1 room at a time instead of getting bogged down in the entire house.

My bathroom is still sparkly because I swish and swipe for 1 minute every morning.

Try it and see....

Well I've got a shiny sink everything else is still a mess but it's odd how much better it makes you feel. Haven't got as far as joining yet, partly because dh will think I've gone mad if I start getting loads of emails and partly I think due to my fear of failing, if I don't try i can't fail but sitting here isn't making the house tidy or me feel better is it?

damewashalot - I joined Saturday. My DP thinks I'm made and worries that the PC is going to run my life. LOL. I have a shiny sink and am taking things one step at a time but have done loads of washing and ironing today so feeling a bit more organised.

The emails come to a new yahoo address and even if he knew how to use the PC properly he wouldnt' be able to find them so I am trying to look up these things when he is out.

I am not sure about starting a control journal though or sticking notes around - he will think I've defo gone mad!!
