New thread for a new zone, morning all

lets all do profiles

I have been married 6 years, I have 2 dd's, one is 6 and the other is 16 months and a dd or ds on the way!
I have always been domestically challenged and I think Flylady has the answer.
I have known about flylady for about 2 years but never really got going, I hope that doing it together will change that.
Good Luck to all on a fresh zone

I like only doing one room at a time. Its a managable thing in a week plus once a rooms tidy and you start the next room, the one you tidied first can be kept up with easily.I can't believe a week in and i still have a tidy kitchen.
if i find something in the wrong place i put it away whereas before i would of left it!

mummy2ashton · 15/08/2006 09:41

tortoise · 15/08/2006 09:56

Boys will be here in a min.
I will pop in and say hi later.

LucyJu · 15/08/2006 09:56

Just wanted to ask if everyone does the getting dressed to the shoes bit?
I got dressed, hair done and make-up on before I went downstairs today, and it's true, I did feel a lot more in control and organised than I usually do, wandering around in a dressing gown with unwashed face and unkempt hair. But shoes? We are a shoe-free household, due to the brave (or foolish, more like!) decision to have cream carpets/light stone-coloured tiles on the floors. Anyone ignore this bit, but manage the rest? Or does it become a bit of a slippery slope, IYKWIM?

tortoise · 15/08/2006 09:58

No shoes here. Most of us don't do the shoes bit!

cori · 15/08/2006 09:59

We are also a shoe free household because of the mistake of cream carpets. So I am going to skip that bit.
Have checked emails dont seem to have any thing specific to do, yesterdays mission was decluttering bathroom toiletires, should I do that first?

Quootiepie · 15/08/2006 10:00

no shoes here i put cream carpets down too

tortoise · 15/08/2006 10:01

Ive posted the on here mission this morning. Its also on the website.

tortoise · 15/08/2006 10:02

That made sence didn't it!!
Ive posted the mission on here this morning.(thats better)

LucyJu · 15/08/2006 10:02

Phew! I feel better now!

MommyUpNorth · 15/08/2006 10:08

I feel the same Lemon, but this time I'm trying not to notice everything else and just stay focused on what I'm supposed to be doing. Must of done something right yesterday and DH came to bed and gave me a kiss and said how lovely and tidy the house was looking! Very encouraging!

Must make a start today. Tuesday is kid's room day here, so off I go...

domestickler · 15/08/2006 10:18

I want to start my control journal/notebook

Quotiepie, think you have one?

What do you put in yours

shazronnie · 15/08/2006 10:27

done 15 mins in ds1 room; i think the solution to toy storage is less toys, but each time i unearth something which hasn't been played with for ages DS1 acts like it's his fave!

my control journal just has my am and pm routines written down , and the weekly blessing list. You can put what you want.

Quootiepie · 15/08/2006 10:30

erm, so far it has.... morning routine, before bed routine, monday-sunday routines (weekly home blessing hour on Monday etc.) Thats it so far. Her website tells you how to build it.

AmandaP · 15/08/2006 10:37

Morning all - sorry I'm a bit late! Well I shined the sink last night (ignoring the rest of the kitchen tho'). Day 2 seems to be just the getting dressed to the shoes (although I've ignored the shoes bit - I don't have any shoes with laces other than scruffy running shoes and I'm not sure that's what she means!) Can I clean the kitchen as well as shining the sink today? The babysteps guidance seems to suggest that I mustn't 'run before I can walk'. Any advice would be appreciated!

Also, does everyone lay out their clothes at night? We've not got a lot of room in our bedroom although I guess I could put things on the floor. To be honest, most mornings I just throw on jodhpurs and an old t-shirt because I do the horses straight away. I'll make sure that I put on my lipstick tho' - the horses will appreciate it I'm sure

Quootiepie · 15/08/2006 10:41

amanda... just roughly clean your kitchen, and do the bathroom zone with us this week oh, I wish i had my horse still!

AmandaP · 15/08/2006 10:47

Poor you QP - I wouldn't be without mine - I'd go without food rather than sell them (well, perhaps not the chocolate and red wine, but you know what I mean!) Why don't you have yours any more?

Quootiepie · 15/08/2006 10:52

i still own her, but loan her out as im too big for her now, and with DS and new house, we cant afford another yet!

coggy · 15/08/2006 11:24

I'm signing in....up, showered, made-up, emails checked, washing done etc. etc....
