New thread for a new zone, morning all

lets all do profiles

I have been married 6 years, I have 2 dd's, one is 6 and the other is 16 months and a dd or ds on the way!
I have always been domestically challenged and I think Flylady has the answer.
I have known about flylady for about 2 years but never really got going, I hope that doing it together will change that.
Good Luck to all on a fresh zone

amanda p - I am one of the few who wear shoes, and it deffo helps me become more motivated; you could choose a pair of house shoes which are clean, and don't wear them outside if you are worried about dirtying the carpets.

I have also started choosing my clothes the night before - I just hang them on the rowing machine (the thing needs a use LOL!)

Quootiepie · 15/08/2006 11:43

im OK, ill only have to buy for DH, DS, sister and mum this Xmas. The joys of family fueds!

AmandaP · 15/08/2006 11:45

Can't we ban all mention of Christmas until the summer hols are over??!!!! I'm far too disorganised but I must admit, RubyRioja, that your plan sounds very appealing. I'll give it some thought....!

I am in flip-flops now so do they count? We don't have carpets on the ground floor (too many animals and that includes the dcs and the dh!)

Am taking a (short) break from cleaning the hob. I can't find my timer - i think it must be in my ds' room - it gets used to apportion playstation time!! I'll have to brave the mess to retrieve it - wish me luck, I may be sometime....

Quootiepie · 15/08/2006 11:46

Good Luck!!! take your mobile!

AmandaP · 15/08/2006 11:49

QP - how sad for you - is she on loan nearby? Can you go and have a cuddle at all? I'm quite lucky in that I've got a few friends with horses around so when I've not had horses, I've at least still been able to ride other peoples.

But the expense is shocking isn't it? TBH, having the two is a complete luxury that we can ill-afford. I'm contemplating selling one (the youngster that I've not done much with yet) and getting a sharer for the other to help spread the cost. But then it's finding someone that you would trust! How did you find your loan person?

coggy · 15/08/2006 11:52

very impressive Ruby...I remember one year having everything bought and wrapped by Octoiber half term - I felt very pleased with myself and decided to do it every year......however......!!

Bathroom polished with windolene....never had a shiny loo before!!!!!
I had 2 minutes to spare so felt the urge to get on my knees and dust the floor!!!!

Hmmm......now I know i am getting obssessed!!!

Quootiepie · 15/08/2006 11:58

about 40 miles away. I just advertised her for loan in the paper... shes a popular type, pony club pony type I went to college to do equine studies when she was first loaned out, so was weaned off her onto other horses, but had to quit that. I do go see her and have a ride (poor thing!) Hopefully when DS is older ill find a field to rent and get myself and DS another horse... its the stabling cost of having more than 1 horse thats awful! Im gonna buy DS a little pony and hopefully take him out hacking on a leadrope

AmandaP · 15/08/2006 12:29

Okay - clean kitchen (a lot longer than 15 minutes or is the 15 mins just for the zones? I'm getting confused!)

Off to lunch now then sister and 4 kids coming round, so I probably won't get the bathroom done until later. But.... I've shined my sink before I go out!

(BTW, I never did find the timer! At least I got out okay...)

QP - seeing your children ride is just the best thing ever!

domestickler · 15/08/2006 12:30

Babysteps are helping me with one of my jobs too. I am an ironing lady and have 60 items to do for tomorrow. Ive just been getting 5 at a time out regularly and finding it MUCH better than getting it all out and stressing my way through it into the night.

Well kithcen sink is still shinning, and bathroom is mostly done. Threw away a whole bag of unused toiletry items.
What else to do today?

Quootiepie · 15/08/2006 12:51

you done another room Cori?

Quootiepie · 15/08/2006 12:52

Ruby!

shazronnie · 15/08/2006 12:53

Today's mission was to wipe bathroom counters and shine the bathroom sink cori.

shazronnie · 15/08/2006 12:54

RR - re cat; I think he/she has had a good life and you would not be a bad person if you decided to end it.

(ok animal lovers - shoot me now!)

cori · 15/08/2006 12:58

I know, but I only joined up yesterday, and didntget yesterdays mission until today. I have also shinned sink . I dont really know what shinning bathroom counters means. I had to throw away half the stuff on it too be able to clean what I imagine it to be.

Ruby... cats home?

tortoise · 15/08/2006 13:22

I think if you feel its the right time to end it before she does suffer than thats ok.
Don't think it would be fair to put her in a home.
Ive done a bit of cleaning in the front room inbetween being jumped on by kids!

h/v didn't turn up so i phoned her.She couldn't find the house. She will be here in about 1/2 hour now! Least its fairly tidy!

coggy · 15/08/2006 13:36

I hope the H/V is impressed Tortoise.

What were wqe supposed to be reminding to you??
To phone someone????

See....I kindof rememebered!!!!

RR...our old dog poohed and weed everywhere for nearly a year but seemed okay & happy...unexplained illness.
Over two/three days she went really downhill and we had to have her put down. Turned out to be a brain tumour (my porr little doogy!).....

....I wouldn't put an animal down unless it was uncormafortable or unhappy BUT.....at the end of the day...babies and people are more important.

Don't know if that's any help or not (probably not!!)

tortoise · 15/08/2006 13:38

Phone about bathroom floor.
I did it earlier but thanks for half remembering!
Have to wait for someone to phone back.If no call by thursday i will be phoning them again!!

coggy · 15/08/2006 13:40

Oh yes....your tiles!!!

I am useless at remembering whole details!!!!

I will, however, try my hardest to rememebr to remind you on Thursday if nothing has happened.

I don't think I would put her in a home at that age......I think it's pretty much you or nothing.

It's a horrible decision to make isn't it?
