New thread for a new zone, morning all

lets all do profiles

I have been married 6 years, I have 2 dd's, one is 6 and the other is 16 months and a dd or ds on the way!
I have always been domestically challenged and I think Flylady has the answer.
I have known about flylady for about 2 years but never really got going, I hope that doing it together will change that.
Good Luck to all on a fresh zone

Todays mission is Spend 15 minutes decluttering health and beauty aids! This means toss the old medicines, hair sprays, gels, shampoos, conditioners, old razors, old dried up nail polish, old cosmetics and anything else that is hanging around in your bathroom that you have not used in the past year!

Grab a trash bag and start tossing. Don't hold onto something because you "might" use it, or because you might need it, this is how clutter breeds! Be brutal and toss, toss, toss.

shazronnie · 14/08/2006 12:20

hello medulla!

Sending you a hug coggy; perhaps by decluttering your nursery you will be more at peace and ready to try again.

My bathroom is gorgeous now, will try and do some photos later.

tortoise · 14/08/2006 12:21

That won't take me long.I did it not too long ago [smug grin]

Quootiepie · 14/08/2006 12:22

afternoon all! this is the first chance i've had to come online.

i'll do a wee profile.

i am sarah, 22 years old, mum to the bestest wee boy in the world called ashton who is 18 months old. i live in northern ireland with my fiance, we have been together almost 4 years. we're gonna get married soon, maybe even before the end of the year! exciting!

i have always been so undomesticated, im crap at housework and keeping things clean and tidy. but im such a perfectionist (im a virgo if anyone believes in that astrology stuff) and HATE HATE things being a mess, but i never know where to start cos there is so much to do! thats why flylady is perfect for me. im on day 5 of being a flybaby and my house is looking improved already! and i love having a shiny sink! it makes a difference from it being swamped with dirty dishes and tea bags!

haven't looked at the fly lady site today yet but i will be in a second!

xxx

Quootiepie · 14/08/2006 12:37

Where we are now

Babysteps: Most of us are on Day 9- todays babystep is "Declutter a few minutes at a time".
Add "5 minute room rescue" to your morning routines. Declutter an area for 5 minutes.

Monday: Weekly Home Blessing Hour.
-cull/toss magazines
-change sheets
-empty all bins
-vacuum all rooms
-mop kitchen and bathroom
-clean mirrors and doors
-dust furniture

This Week: Zone 3- Bathroom and one other room.

DaysMission: I think its tidy up cosmetics.

By now we should have a Morning routine of:
-Get up, get dressed to lace up shoes, fix hair and face
-look at posted reminders in kitchen and bathroom
-read 2 mins. of reminders
-Recognise the negative voices and change them
-put out a Hotspot for 2 mins
-5 min. room rescue (declutter)

Before bed routine of:
-keep sink shining
-lay out clothes for tomorrow
-put out Hotspot for 2 mins

Quootiepie · 14/08/2006 12:57

im doing the baby step, the Mondays "job", this weeks Zone's mission. Not doing the email reminders of doing other things yet... im keeping it simple

AmandaP · 14/08/2006 12:58

Hi - I've just joined FlyLady - inspired by looking at piles of clutter in children's bedrooms (and mine too if I'm honest!).

I'm 42, living in Milford, Surrey, mother to ds 9, and dd 7 (going on 13), married to dh for 18 years (gulp), have spent last three plus years in severe depression, in and out of hospital, and am now recovering. Used to be high-flying exec, but now unable to work - broke but definitely less stressed, and around more for the family. Animals - two horses, two dogs, two cats, and one guinea pig.

Used to have a cleaner while I was working - not any more tho!! So I need a boot up the proverbial and this looks great.

When can I expect my first email?

Nice to 'meet' you all.

mummy2ashton · 14/08/2006 13:00

i live in portadown Q, in co. armagh. you know the place with those marches that make the news every year lol.

i can't do my zone work just yet today. my sister is coming round so im gonna do 15 minutes tidying the livingroom, 15 minutes tidying the kitchen and brushing the floor and the hall floor and 15 minutes tidying the spare room where the computer is cos she wants to use my computer. then that gives me a 15 minute break. i'll do the zone work later when ds wakes up cos me chucking hairspray cans into a bag will just wake him up! and i'll do the house blessing thing when dp gets home so he can take ds away from the hoover as he's scared of it. thats my plan for today!

mummy2ashton · 14/08/2006 13:03

my goodness, just realised i've done actual housework every day for 5 days in a row! got to be a first! and i actually feel motivated aswell! i tell ya, its all down to my sink, now its shiny i think it has magical powers

Quootiepie · 14/08/2006 13:07

Quootiepie · 14/08/2006 13:10

This all sounds very confusing! This is day 1 for me so all I've done is shine my sink. It does look nice though!
