New thread for a new zone, morning all

lets all do profiles

I have been married 6 years, I have 2 dd's, one is 6 and the other is 16 months and a dd or ds on the way!
I have always been domestically challenged and I think Flylady has the answer.
I have known about flylady for about 2 years but never really got going, I hope that doing it together will change that.
Good Luck to all on a fresh zone

here is a question: if you were staying in your MILs house for 2 weeks, would you keep up with fly lady and shine her sink? bearing in mind that MIL is a complete monster and evil bitch from hell (thankfully she is going to france the day after we get there so don't have to see much of her).

KATGOD · 19/08/2006 23:01

wow you do all chat a lot - takes ages to read through it all. Yes the book is good, but I think it explains the philosophy rather than giving the actual instructions etc. I think it will work ok for me, coz I can't really have loads of emails whizzing about because I am at work some days and 2 year old tries to find diggers on the PC as soon as I switch it on. Sadly the mad claeaning may have to take a back seat as I have been diagnosed with SPD which is some sort of pelvic disfunction caused by pelvic bone moving and baby being too heavy - it's v painful and moving is getting a bit tricky. But the theory is there, and I sat in bed and read the book this afternoon before having a nap - FLY lady is all into loving yourself and making time for yourself, and that was my time today!! Going away for a few days tomorrow so will start doing 15 minute blitzes and hotspots etc when get back. there will also be a lot of 27 step boogying of whatever it's called as I do need to get rid of a lot of the crap accumulating around the house and be much less sentimental. I am blaming the interest in cleaning on my hormones and nesting so people don't know I've joined a cult. PS Tortoise court tips - if you don't understand the question ask for it to be repeated. Make sure you answer the question you have been asked, not the question you wish you had been asked. Always think first if you are unsure and ask for clarification if you are not sure still. Good luck

domestickler · 19/08/2006 23:02

my msn is rebeccaroll at hotmail.com if you want to add me too

Torti (((hugs))), I cant imagine what the feeling of dread must be like. I know its easy to say but try hard not to worry. HE is the one at fault. Any judge or jury will know that a woman living in an abusive atmosphere will not be able sometimes to fight for what is right. You sound like a really lovely Mum xxxx

tortoise · 19/08/2006 23:02

Ive bought a 4 person tent from ebay so should all fit in!

OOOh yes shine her sink especially if its mankey, will really show her up!

tortoise · 19/08/2006 23:05

mummy2ashton · 19/08/2006 23:06

i'd love to go camping!!! last time i went, trudged up a mountain in the dark, set up tent, slightly pissed, woke up and a sheep was trying to head butt the way into the tent. set up camp in a poo covered sheep pen!

DontlookatmeImshy · 20/08/2006 08:47

Morning ladies. Anyone else up yet.

{{Hugs}} for Tortoise. Have only just realise you're having a worrying time at the moment.

Well it's only day 3 of babysteps for me but I am still quite pleased with myself for getting my hair done first thing, instead of waiting till I realise I need to go out and then 'omg need to wash hair first!!!!'

Glad to see I'm not the only one not putting shoes on, although I did think of investing in a nice pair of slippers?
Oh deqr I'm turning into a granny

trinityrhino · 20/08/2006 08:49

morning, I'm up , I have had breakfast ande put the washing on and the sink is shiny but I have no motivation

Morning Flyers!

I have got up, showered, dressed (to socks )

Put a load in washer.

Emptied dishwasher.

Shined sink.

Swished and Swiped bathroom :D

Its working .......

SKYTVADICT · 20/08/2006 09:24

Morning - I'm up and dressed but thats about it. Didn't realise the shoes were an option and have them on at the mo. Just going to wash up, hang some washing out, shine my sink and take my shoes off (only day 2 you see and the babysteps say thats all I need to do!). Although I have a child free day (they are at their dads) so I think I will do other things too. DP a bit impressed that I'm actually dressed before 2pm on a lazy sunday but not too impressed that I've been sitting at PC for half an hour!

Must get on

oh, ps I am 38, have two DDS age 10 and 6, a DP who is 40 in October and an ex H. DP and I are ttc at the mo after a mc in April.

shazronnie · 20/08/2006 09:53

Morning sunday flyers!!

I have little motivation today, although i have got dressed properly and put my washing on, and shined my sink of course.

Glad to hear you sounding happier Q, and I am thinking of you Tortoise , especially next week.

can't believe we have been flying for 2 weeks; that must be the longest period of sustained housework i have ever done!!

The Refresh website looks good domestickler BTW! Come and practice at my house if you like - I'm in Redditch, near Brum.

tortoise · 20/08/2006 11:57

Morning all(just!!).
Ive done the normal morning basics.
Have the boys today so we have been playing jnr monopoly! Looks like our planned sleep out in the tent tonight has been rained off!
Watching the incredibles at the moment!
