Don't say everything. It doesn't have to be particularly gruelling, or time consuming, or disgusting, but I bet you have one household task that you hate out of all proportion.

For me, it's putting away washing. I don't much like hanging it out to dry, but putting it away in drawers and wardrobes, when the coat hangers are tangling with each other, and there's only one of each sock... Shudder.

Filing/post

I hate doing it and we seem to get more and more every week! Eventually it all piles up until I have do deal with it as it overtakes the kitchen. Or hope that dh does it!

I quite like all other jobs around the house but hate post with a passion

Judybluey · 03/12/2013 19:23

Hoovering the stairs! Hate it! I've suffered many injuries whilst doing it including a broken nose...I'd rather get down on my hands and knees and brush up the bits with an old toothbrush!

Swannykazoo · 03/12/2013 19:32

Please please please can I do the pulling the hair out of the drain for you all then? I looooove it (obviously with a special tool not my hands oculdn't possibly touch it oh no)

BadgerBumBag · 03/12/2013 19:37

Hoovering stairs

SquidgyMummy · 03/12/2013 19:52

Emptying the dishwasher.
I like laundry though. Not ironing thought, we don't even have an iron

cinnamongreyhound · 03/12/2013 19:59

Mine is lunch boxes too! Rationally it's much easier than cleaning, washing ironing, picking up dog poo, making dinner, loading/ unloading dishwasher but it's my most hated job. Friday nights I breathe a sigh of relief that I don't need to do them Grin

Mintyy · 03/12/2013 20:20

I simply cannot put clean laundry away. Our cleaner always does a bit of ironing for us at the end of her 3 hour stint. She puts the ironed things on hangers or folds into a lovely neat pile. I put these away in the cupboards/drawers approx 5 minutes before she appears the following week Xmas Blush. It is like a mental block.

cerealqueen · 03/12/2013 20:42

Tidying up after the DDs. All those little 'things' Bloody Sylvanain Families. The same humdrum task every single day.

Tidying up after little children is like shovelling snow when it is still snowing.

ecofreckle · 03/12/2013 20:44

cleaning the nappy buckets!

madmomma · 03/12/2013 21:04

Fucking tidying bastard papers and toys and assorted crap that my 2 and 3 yr olds will spray everywhere again the second I've tidied it. And everything to do with food; buying it, planning and preparing it, scraping it into the bin because no fucker will eat it

NearTheWindmill · 03/12/2013 21:06

Scrubbing/cleaning the big grill pan from the big oven that doesn't go in the dishwasher. Waiting in for the man who comes to clean the oven a couple of times a year because I'm always so embarrassed that it's so messy.

Pairing socks, gently vacuuming dusty lampshades occasionally.

Cleaning up cat sick.

Locking cat flap, catching and holding cats down to deflea. With three they get the gist of what's going on. 'Tis difficult.

flowerygirl · 03/12/2013 21:41

You don't like hovering?!! You're all mad! It's the best job, so satisfying

Love

Planning what to make for dinner every SINGLE day. I ask DH what he wants and he says whatever I want, then he moans about what I make Hmm
Cleaning the toilet...grim
Washing out jars for the recycling...bleurgh. Makes me feel funny

JewelFairies · 03/12/2013 21:49

Seriously now, who wipes skirting boards????? Why oh why would you do that? Is there something I have missed? Shock

NearTheWindmill · 03/12/2013 21:51

Because it keeps them clean and removes the dust Confused. Why wouldn't you clean them?

flowerygirl · 03/12/2013 21:54

Yeah I never cleaned skirting boards until the landlord insisted we cleaned them before moving out. They were filthy when we saw the bucket of water after Blush

smornintime · 03/12/2013 21:58

Getting hair out of plug holes makes me physically sick. DH has to do it even though all the hair is mine. Bleurgh

Another vote for ironing and cleaning the oven. Love ironed clothes and bedclothes, but hate doing it. Love roasts, but hate cleaning the mess in the oven.

parques · 03/12/2013 22:21

Thank God it's not just me - get the complete rage with Henry falling over too - bloody pissed hoover!

BertieBowtiesAreCool · 03/12/2013 22:22

Immac your plug holes people!

BertieBowtiesAreCool · 03/12/2013 22:23

Grin we used to have a Henry at work, people would leave him in compromising positions overnight.

FairyPenguin · 03/12/2013 22:23

Doing the weekly meal plan. Working out when DH and I are in so do i eat with him or with the DC, when each DC has activities on so which days need quick meals, what we have in and when it needs to be eaten by, then ensuring the whole week is balanced and has enough variety, knowing which days i can do an experimental meal on DC as they will have eaten well at lunch (they need to eat better), then writing the shopping list (and usually ordering as much as possible online and working out what I then still need to buy because I've left the online order too late and have no ingredients for full meals before it arrives).

FairyPenguin · 03/12/2013 22:26

madmomma - are you me? I am with you on the tidying of paper and crap. I have banned scissors now after having to tidy up teeny tiny bits of paper as they were trying to cut the smallest piece ever. There were hundreds of them, I swear. The Hoover wouldn't even pick them up.

parques · 03/12/2013 22:27

Bertie - that made me smile!

AngryBuddha · 03/12/2013 22:41

Yes, putting clothes away. Also making packed lunches, I do 5 every day, then get moaned at individually by all the kids on what they do and don't like....it not fair so and so gets... Etc.
