Carrots

Hope you have a great holiday

We have a bank holiday weekend here, today a friend has invited DDs to a shiny new kids place in the capitol. Friend's mum has offered to pay too, so I'm accepting this time as OH hasn't been paid and will return the favor ASAP. Just need to give them a little spending money.

This bleedin' virus is still going strong, according to OH the authorities have set up field hospitals around the capital to deal with it. Loads of people here simply can't afford to see a Dr, however sick they getSad

Bessie, hope you get our lists and shopping sorted. I've been working on a "what do I have in the freezer, and what to do with it" list. Now I'm off to interact with my DDsGrin

CatsSleepAnywhere · 01/07/2012 18:02

Hi all, Just thought I'd pop in. Have been quite busy this week so not had much time to MNet. 3 weeks left before the DC break up for summer hols, still have lots to do!

Carrots hope you have a lovely holiday! Smile

to Scout

Adora That doesn't sound good about that virus. Sad

carrotsandcelery · 01/07/2012 20:03

Hi cats. I am sitting by the pool with a cheeky lemon fanta watching the kids swim. I went in last night and this morning but thought i would be brave and trial them going in themselves. Eeek!
They have been great though and really looked after each other.
This afteroon we went to kincraig wildlife park and saw two young male polar bears playing which was fab. Last year there was just one and he hid. The kids loved it (so did we)

carrotsandcelery · 02/07/2012 07:34

Morning all. I am trying to make myself get out of bed. We are heading off to landmark today if it is dry enough. Dd will be dangling from trees and diving off them. Eeeek!
How is everyone? It is very quiet around here.

Scout19075 · 02/07/2012 09:11

I can't decide if it's been a good start to the morning or not. I'm exhausted already!

Morning all.
Carrots - have a great time!
Scout - I know that feeling! I think I've been tossing and turning since about 3.00am ( no real idea why!) so I feel decidedly unrefreshed! It is really annoying since I had a long lie-in yesterday and was feeling more energetic for once!

Scout19075 · 02/07/2012 10:01

I woke up mostly refreshed. It's just Toddler and I have been go-Go-GO! since he woke up this morning.

We've had breakfast, I've cleared up the remains of last night and breakfast, washed up paintbrushes I found that hadn't been washed, we've painted a butterfly & a caterpillar, we've colored another 4th of July picture, I've taken pictures of it all and posted them. We've also played with our counting & sorting Teddies and played an Orchard Toys game (we're starting to try to "play" them/take turns -- so far so good), read stories, played trains.

Still not dressed yet, though. Blush

Trip to the playground postponed due to inclement weather.

I'm so tired. Toddler's worn me out and it's only noon.

Hi!

carrots enjoy your holiday!

DD2 came down with D&V bug on Friday night (v.good timing, just as DH got home!), then I got it Saturday night (when DH was out at the pub). I spent Sunday in bed & DH spent his hangover running round the garden with the kids!

I have managed to keep on top of the laundry, but everything else has gone to pot. I usually clean on a Monday afternoon while they sleep, but today I am napping! Grin

educatingarti · 02/07/2012 14:35

Scout - will he still have a nap? Can you nap when he does?
Bessie - sorry to hear you and DD2 have not been well but I hope you are starting to feel a bit better now.

I've just had a 40 min "power nap" to try and keep me going a bit. Now it is back to work!

bessie26 · 02/07/2012 15:12

Hope you had a more successful nap than I did scout - I only managed a 40min snooze power nap & couldn't get back to sleep!

I have managed to buy myself a lovely pair of new slippers from moshulu though Grin

Scout19075 · 02/07/2012 15:16

Yes, Toddler still naps. He's three hours in Shock and when I kissed him he didn't even flinch. He had a very busy/active weekend without naps/much night time sleep so I'm just letting him go for a bit longer.

I've been sitting here watching bad television and emailing/chatting with MrScout, MomScout and BestFriendScout.

Bessie - those slippers look lovely - which type did you get?

Scout - sounds wise to let TS sleep a little longer (particularly when it means you get a bit of peace Grin )

carrotsandcelery · 02/07/2012 16:36

Sounds like everyone has had a snoozy day. Sorry to hear about the d&v bug bessie. I hope that is the end of it.
Ds was sick in the bamboozeleum this afternoon. I am hoping it was a combo of excitement, too much food and all the optical illusions. Fx.
He has amazed me today doing an aerial obstacle course for the first time. He did it three times in the end Shock not so timid anymore! Grin
Dd did the adult one. She was 2cm too small but the man had watched her on the kids one and was quite happy she would cope. I am so proud of them both.
Dd and i did a water slide and dd went on the roller coaster.
They still want to swim.

AdoraBell · 02/07/2012 16:52

Sounds like you're having a fab time Carrots, so glad that DS was enjoyed the ariel obstacle course, that should help boost his confidence and I hope he stays well for the duration.

My two are taking this earning money by doing chores to extremes, they just dusted meShock

Bessie hope that D&V bug is over now.

carrotsandcelery · 02/07/2012 19:50

Adora i am grinning at the idea of you being dusted. We are having a good time but i have never been more aware of how much my parents argue and the daft stuff they argue about. It is unbelievable and really horrible. My kids just arent used to it at all.

bessie26 · 02/07/2012 22:57

Think the D&V is all gone now Smile

Glad the DC are enjoying their chores so much adora!!! DD1 (3.8) keeps asking to wash up & who am I to stop her?! Grin

arti I got the Leona ones. I currently have the cow dog print ones, but my new ones will be zebra. They really are VERY comfy. I've had them a year & no signs of wear except being grubby & they don't recommend you machine wash them... The old pair will be going straight in the machine as soon as the new ones arrive to see what happens!

Obstacle course sounds great carrots, not sure about the bamboozeleum though!

Hope TS has gone to bed ok after that lovely long nap scout Envy

carrotsandcelery · 02/07/2012 23:31

Good grief! My mum is now not speaking to my dad because i took a key with me that i should have left behind. It would be childish and unhelpful not to speak to me because of it. To not speak to my dad because of it is just twisted! You can imagine how joyous our evening was.

Bessie, great to hear dd is getting enthusiastic. Dd is enjoying helping here. I had to make my parents let ds help. He is not a baby and wants to be part of things and make a contribution.

AdoraBell · 03/07/2012 00:12

Carrots sounds like the last holiday I took with my parents. I was 21 and I still can't figure out how I was coerced persuaded to go with them. They'd been divorced for 8 years by then, ffs

carrotsandcelery · 03/07/2012 07:52

I knew it would be like this because it always is. How do people live like this? Growing up i just thought it was normal but now i can see it is bizarre. Dh and i have our moments but honestly!
Anyway, i am taking dd to a stable today where she should get a long trek on a highland pony (my favourites). They have put her in the advanced ride which i am a bit dubious about but they will test her before she goes out.
Ds is chilling out with mum and dad is golfing. I dont know if they are speaking or not yet. Dd and i will just run away!!!!

carrotsandcelery · 03/07/2012 10:29

I have been left in a yard on my own with ten ponies Shock
