Come on in and enjoy the company!

Scout we often have daily screaming/tantrums about one thing or another. I think you just eventually think "the neighbours can put up with it or move!"
--they must think something terrible is going on it's just DD and her not so-- funny moods.

carrotsandcelery · 21/08/2012 22:29

Oh dear! Sad Twilight has just wet herself and been lying in it oblivious Sad

The vet said her back end would eventually give out after her stroke. Sad

I have showered her and cleaned and mopped the floor.

Scout19075 · 22/08/2012 01:43

I swear if he doesn't go to sleep soon I am going to lose my marbles! He's been at it again since midnight. MrScout manages to fall asleep through it and stay asleep. Angry I have Calpoled Toddler in case it's teeth. He won't tell me and he's not screaming/crying (though he didn't with any of the others, either). Because he was awake when MrScout came to bed I didn't get to ask him what the deal with tomorrow is (hard to have a conversation when you're telling small people to "ssshhhh, go to sleep" and demonstrating a little too well going to sleep.

SECONDARY NOTE TO HUSBANDS

If, after being shown the error of your ways you still insist on roaming around like a bloody tyrant, yes, You OH listen carefully for creaking noises. It's the ice cracking.

Carrots hope DS wasn't too upset.

That's rotten for Twighlight, poor thing.

Scout hope you get enough sleep and enjoy your holiday

Not much going on at Casa Adora, tomorrow I need to look for birthday presents between other errands. DDs finish school late on Wednrsdays so I have more browsing time.

carrotsandcelery · 22/08/2012 10:48

Morning all!

I am beginning to feel a bit more normal. I do feel a bit lost on the school run now though as I no longer have to wait until a teacher comes and takes the class in. He could walk to and from school on his own if I let him now. I am becoming redundant! Shock

Twilight seems fine today but I have booked her in to see the vet just to get checked over incase it is a urinary infection or similar that is troubling her. I have also booked her in to have her hair cut really short so that if it is going to be a regular thing then it is easier to keep her clean. It is a bit of a shame as she is a stunning big hairy beastie but I doubt she is interested in what she looks like.

Scout I hope you got some sleep. It is very trying when they start behaving like that.

Adora I hope dh is behaving himself. scoffs banana cake Smile

CatsInChaos · 22/08/2012 10:59

I am having a Brew trying to calm myself. DD threw another HUGE tantrum this morning. Sad I tried putting her on the "naughty step" but she wouldn't stay --and my arm hurts too much too keep trying to put her on it twenty times-- So I carried her up to her room and we sat there till she calmed down.
She has been warned and banned from the computer this morning --and maybe all day-- will see how things progress!

Please send calming vibes this way.

I may have to go and loose myself in a flurry of washing up bubbles!
Sad

I so can't wait till September --when they are back to school/nursery--

liveinazoo · 22/08/2012 11:07

hi everyone

we have a pidgeon who has a death wish that for the 2nd night/day running has woke me squawking down my chimney before 5Hmm and im left awake and annoyed...on a plus side i got up at 5.30 yesterday and got quite a bit done before the dcs were up at 6
today im already on 3rd load washing
i have unearthed another drift of balls under teh sofa the dcs dominate as their own.i suspect when the pillow popped they may have "encouraged" some fillingg out then panicked and tried to hide the evidence!it explains where they keep appering from as when you pass by the sofea the draft seems to swirl more out

my mobile died at the the beginning of the school holiday and i lost all the dcs mates parents numbers, despite them meant to be stored to simHmm.i have walked them up to dd2 best friends and put a note throught teh door and then as the sun is shining we headed for the local nature reserve for a strolll and a gambl in the play area.the sun is warm but we have a nice cool breeze and twas most pleasant, almost chillyShock
they are now maurauding on the trampoline outside while i tidy up MN

carrots i hope twilight is ok

liveinazoo · 22/08/2012 11:09

immersing yourself in bubble bath more pleasurableWink

CatsInChaos · 22/08/2012 11:21

The calming vibes and tea seem to be doing the trick!!

I think hope DD has got the message that mummy will not take nonsense! Wink
She has sat quietly watching telly while I had my Brew . Now feeling calmer!

What do you do with your DC when you need to go hang the washing out or other jobs that may be not in the same room as them? --does that make sense DS isn't a problem, it's just DD cause she is still young, I'm not sure if I can trust her to be o.k. when alone. not get up to mischief--

carrotsandcelery · 22/08/2012 11:26

Will she come with you and pass you pegs Cats? Can you give her a wet paintbrush to "paint" slabs while you do it?

CatsInChaos · 22/08/2012 12:11

Right, going to try and get her to go outside with me. she can pass pegs or something.
I think maybe I am being a bit anxious today. Sad

carrotsandcelery · 22/08/2012 12:57

Well, after a massive tantrum they don't fill you with trust. You can tell her that. She is old enough to hear it (said calmly and simply).

liveinazoo · 22/08/2012 15:57

hope you got the washingout ok cats
i got 3 loads drythen i was busy sneaking in a chapter of a book i didnt spot the rain cloud scoot over until it was too late and it threw it down and the summer duvet and fleece blankets were dripping
i dont have anywhere indoors to dry dripping things so left them out and hoping that it will dry off today/tomorpw
the zoolets have got the playmobil pirate lighthouse out and from the noise levels and snickering/squeals they are having a splendid time.sadly im feeling old and the noise seems very loud, ive been hit by 4 cannon balls and ive managed to step on a crab,a hat and a sword!!!!!
ive also had a nasty case of CBA since lunchtme.maybe the pidgeon wake ups are starting to get to me.i think we shall have pasta for dinner with chickpeas, carrots and cheeseperfect for lazyday i think!

CatsInChaos · 22/08/2012 16:06

Got the washing hanged out earlier while DD played with bubbles --she then accidently tipped some on my trouser leg-- Hmm

We then had lunch after which I fell asleep on the sofa --cause I'd had enough of today by then-- I have just woke up at around 4.00 Blush
In my defence I think I have a cold so not feeling great.

Better try and sort out the kitchen!

liveinazoo · 22/08/2012 16:14

itl still be a pickle if you leav it til tomorrowWink
maybe a comfort dinner and an early night will give you the strength to attack it tomorrow

AdoraBell · 22/08/2012 16:41

Cats glad you got DD to help hanging the washing. In light of the fact that probably have a cold coming onWink I'd say a bubble bath is in order.

Zoo re your wet washing, if the air round your way is clean I'd say it'll be okay. I always re-wash anything that gets rained on here because the air is positively grubby.

I'm having breakfastGrin I decided to get some non urgent medical tests done and they include a glucose blood test, so 12 hr fast was needed.
OH on best behaviour today, he doesn't like my cold shoulder, or the pointy sticks. I have a few hours to kill between appts so I'll look for birthday presents.

Scout19075 · 22/08/2012 17:33

We decided not to go today after all MrScout wouldn't make the decision so I did. He has too much "geek stuff" to get done/pack up to take that by the time he'd have gotten to do it I'd be herding Toddler and we'd all be on edge and very late going. Nothing had been booked so no money/plans lost. Room already booked for Bath tomorrow night so will leave in the morning. When Toddler's in bed I will sort out the car's boot (we're not taking the stroller) and will load up what I can (plastic boxes of trains and other toys, big bag of our clothes, my projects, bag of books, etc) so that tomorrow we just have to toss in our camera bags (they do NOT get left outside in the car and definitely not overnight we have thousands of pounds & dollars worth of kit and the cameras have their own insurance policy) and MrScout's geek-stuff (don't know what he's planning on taking but have a feeling it's not leave-in-the-car-boot stuff) and head off.

Instead today we had a nice afternoon at a local miniature railway attraction. Take-away for dinner tonight since the refrigerator is bare and all of the pots/pans are washed & away and I can't be bothered have too much else to do to shop/cook/wash-up.

Scout

I hope you enjoy your holiday and have a good journey tomorrow.

Well, my day was going well until I missed 4 calls from the school nurse while having my tests done. DD1 had hurt her leg and couldn't bear weight so I had to zip back and take her to the clinic, they did X-rays but nothing's broken.

Because I rushed back I used the new road that goes up and over the hills, so I drove through the clouds. Actually through the actual clouds, which were heavy as the rain was torrential. Visibility must have been 4, maybe 5 CM. I narrowly missed a hovering hawk. Luckily it's not a busy road because it's bleedin' expensive by local standards, so I was able to drive slower. Any other road is dangerous to try and stick to speed limits, it's like Whacky Races.

Good news is my tests were all okay, I was worried about the way my heart seems to be reacting to stress lately, but now I know that it's okay I can relax.

There ain't been much housework done today, I haven't even emptied the DW, but I did do a load of washing this evening. DD1 may be at home tomorrow, I'll assess her ankle in the morning, and I'm hoping to get a lt of things done.

Scout19075 · 23/08/2012 10:18

ARGH at MrScout.

Oh no Scout - what's up?!

AdoraBell · 24/08/2012 01:54

Oh Scout do you need to borrow the pointy sticks?

I feel exhausted, think I didn't realise just how tense I was, despite all my efforts, and now that I've relaxed I'm worn out. Never mind, at least I slept properly last night.

This morning as I was prepping breakfast OH said " the dogs are in next door's gardenShock" so we threw some clothes on and went to retrieve them, all 4 grubby individuals. They were caked in mud from the tips of their noses to the tips of their tails. The big ones got hosed down and the puppies I washed using a bucket of warm water and a pastic jug, then towell dried them. Somehow the gate got opened, which is how they escaped.

DD1 is hobbling around, still can't put her foot down so was at home today. I had planned to go out tomorrow but DD may still be home and carpet fitters are returning to rectify damage.
