Come inside for a Brew and a Biscuit and maybe even a Wine if the mood takes you.

A thread for chatter and nonsense Grin

Not sure what happened to it, but they can't redeliver until wed eve so I'm going to have to go get a few things today. Angry

The girls have gone to GPs today, but I have a checkup at the dentist this morning & a facial this arvo, so will have to fit some flying around them.

This time next week I will be back at work

educatingarti · 08/05/2012 09:43

Morning all! How is everyone?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 08/05/2012 09:51

I am finding it hard to get going so far. I have got the DC up, ready and to school but am now behind (late breakfast etc.)

educatingarti · 08/05/2012 09:52

I slept somewhat better last night. Asleep before 11pm but woke up at 12.00. From then on I only woke up every 2-3 hours, so not so bad but I think I did a lot of tossing and turning and still feel tired (but not as bad as yesterday).

Scout19075 · 08/05/2012 10:47

I have a bit of a headache. Sad

educatingarti · 08/05/2012 10:52

Sorry to hear that scout! In my tossing and turning and having weird dreams last night, I woke with a headache too, but it has gone now! Does fresh air help you?

Scout19075 · 08/05/2012 11:02

It depends on the type of headache, arti. This one feels migraine-y which means a dark, quiet room and sleep would be good but it's not going to happen today!

I did go outside to take trash and recycling to the bins and TS & used his new magnifying glass to look at snails. Unfortunately we have rainclouds overhead so anticipate the heavens opening any time.

I am here briefly. Hello everyone. Sorry about the head Scout. Can you numb it a bit with drugs? Most of my friends know the right "cocktails" of meds to be able to function if they can't go and hide.

I put the light off at midnight and slept solid until 6.30 and feel loads better for it. I will ease into the earlier nights much more gradually from now on as it was not working for me.

It is my friend's birthday today and a crowd of us are going out for lunch to celebrate Grin I get picked up in ten minutes.

I have packed up the paid for ebay parcels and posted them though and done some beading Blush I needed to wind down after yesterday's relentless mania from ds. I have also done a massive pile of paperwork so not all is lost.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Usually I just have a bit of caffeine (sounds crazy but the prescription I used to have when I was in uni was mostly caffeine) and ride them out. My stomach was upset earlier (which, for me, is a sign that I woke up with a migraine) so taking pills would have caused me to gag/vomit (sorry for the TMI). I'd love to nap with Toddler but I've worked out I can't let him sleep his usual length of 2+ hours or bedtime's a nightmare and if I went to lay down I'd sleep all afternoon.

MrScout was supposed to not come home until Thursday but he forgot his wash kit (despite having a toothbrush, contacts & pills at his parents he needs his shaver Hmm and can't make due with a razor for two days) so is coming home. I told him I'm going to bed when TS is settled and he can sort dinner himself since I wasn't planning on him being home.

TS went down for a nap without getting up once (yay!). I'm giving myself until 12:30 to veg then am going to crack on with jobs for the last half an hour of Toddler's nap.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 08/05/2012 12:44

Just checking in for lunch. Smile

educatingarti · 08/05/2012 12:56

Checking in for lunch too!
Scout - my friend who has migrainish headaches says that caffeine helps too!

liveinazoo · 08/05/2012 12:58

also popping in for 5minsSmile

educatingarti · 08/05/2012 13:00

I've been experimenting with different ways of cooking the quinoa bergers.

I've taken two that I cooked in the oven yesterday and re-heated by frying. Still v nice!

I've got 4 more in oven cooking, but this time I put oil in tin and heated in oven before putting mix in ( like you do with Yorkshires) in the hope that it sticks less ( I haven't got any greeseproof paper!)

A thought. If I make a Yorkshire pudding in Lancashire, does that make it a Lancashire pudding?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 08/05/2012 13:04

I'm just lurking while eating cake and drinking a Brew

Need to kick self up bum soon and get on with it!

educatingarti · 08/05/2012 13:24

Drat! burgers still stuck to pan! I've put greaseproof paper on my shopping list!

5 more mins and I must do some more work!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 08/05/2012 13:49

1 x washing up done. Still have CBA feeling today.

educatingarti · 08/05/2012 14:23

Keep going Cats!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 08/05/2012 14:26

I feel really tired and useless! If I didn't have to do the school run I would try and have a nap. Sad

educatingarti · 08/05/2012 15:03

((cats)) Try not to get too stressed about it. You are bound to go up and down a bit. Give it a bit more time and you will have more days like yesterday energy -wise

carrotsandcelery · 08/05/2012 16:27

Hello again. Arti i am glad it is noy just me who finds these things dont always hold together well. Cats just take little tiny steps. 5 mins washing up then chill etc.
Hi zoo!
My friend seemed to like her gifts. Yay! I also have a proper paid commission from one of my mums friends. I wont let her pay as she is very good to the kids. She admired one mum was wearing not knowing i made it. Am chuffed!

New-to-us Toddler group good fun for a small boy but perhaps not so good for my head. Didn't bother me too much while I was there but the post group/noise come down has been a killer on the head.
