Come inside for a Brew and a Biscuit and maybe even a Wine if the mood takes you.

A thread for chatter and nonsense Grin

zoo the head doesn't sound very professional. Is he part of the ofstead problem? It is amazing the difference a good head can make to a school.

Cats dh is watching a really gory film about the crusades. The sound effects alone are enough to give you nightmares. BGT would be a lot less stressful.

aw lovely stories
sorry cats not got tv on at the mo

dp is definately fondest of ds.he suffers from a bad case wanting the dcs to love him and not wanting to be "the bad guy" when he doesnt see them that often so they wrap him round their fingers and override mums rules.he is learning to be a bit firmer but i still feel like the evil one sometimes when hes getting them all giggly and sillly just before bed and i know it will take ages to settle them when id spent a while bringing them down already

Scout19075 · 05/05/2012 21:24

Just saw my MRI appointment's come through for two weeks time. It took nearly twelve months for my ECHO appointment to come through, with six weeks of those months badgering the clinic & department, and my MRI comes through in three days.

Scout19075 · 05/05/2012 21:27

MrScout can wind Toddler up but he's good at unwinding him, too. I think because he knows what hard work bedtime can be (even when he wasn't in a big bed we had the occasional rough night) he knows now to get him too excited.

Cats, I haven't watched BGT this year for some reason. We've just put on the recorded The Voice.

I need to restock the diaper bag, including snacks, for tomorrow's adventures. Also need to gather all of results of this week's nappy fails & drink spills -- we seem to have a lot of those this week.

carrotsandcelery · 05/05/2012 21:28

Often once you are in the system things go much more quickly Scout. Will someone watch TS while you are there?

carrotsandcelery · 05/05/2012 21:31

Dd is in a show at the stables tomorrow so it will be chaos here in the morning and then I will spend hours hanging around up there. Hopefully there will be lots of other parents spending hours hanging around so I can hang around with them. I am charging my phone so I can attempt to mn.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 05/05/2012 21:34

I'm going to have to go and watch telly as the white screen is starting to get to my eyes (must be getting tired).

Hope tomorrow goes better zoo. I might be lurking on here not sure what we are doing yet.

Night all. x

carrotsandcelery · 05/05/2012 21:35

I wore a suit to work (long straight skirts or wide legged trousers when I was thinner), with round necked tops (am ampley blessed in that dept). Teenage boys will oggle anyone!

Ds's teacher is very professional but dd's teacher dresses head to toe in Hollister - jeans and checked shirt or is in sports gear. Hmm

I am stunned that he thinks a gas leak is less scary than rats. Hmm Hmm

Scout19075 · 05/05/2012 21:35

Maybe, carrots, but I've been seeing the cardiology department for five or six years now.

My original MRI appointment took a month to come through, but that was a couple of years ago and I ended up not being able to have the test because I was pregnant.

It does make me wonder if things are perhaps a bit more disconcerting/concerning than the doctor wanted to tell me before having this test to confirm or deny.

carrotsandcelery · 05/05/2012 21:36

Sleep well Cats and zoo. xx

Scout19075 · 05/05/2012 21:36

Goodnight, Cats!

Goodnight, zoo!

carrotsandcelery · 05/05/2012 21:39

What is it looking at? (sorry if that is very private) I am assuming it is the heart?

It could just be a cancellation Scout. I don't think the docs are allowed to withold information and they have to dish it out bad news regularly so just get on with it iykwim. I don't mean they don't care but they know what they have to do. I know you must worry about these things though. I think if they are concerned they tell you their concerns straight up.

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 05/05/2012 21:41

Yes, the heart. They want to do some more accurate measurements of my various not-right valves, the hole (which is patched but as I grew the patch didn't, plus the patch is put under a lot of stress), the back-flow, etc.

The MRI will give them a clearer picture than an ECHO.

Scout19075 · 05/05/2012 21:45

Doctor did say there seemed to be some changes, not in the "danger zone" colors, but changes so he wanted to get a clearer image.

educatingarti · 05/05/2012 21:46

Zoo - I love your ds's method for dealing with a bossy sister

Just been making a badge for one of my students. It is my last lesson with her nest week ( She's 11) The badge says Well Done "Arti!" is proud of you and also says "Hard working student" And "Clever student"

She is always saying she is not clever, but she is, she's just having to cope with dyslexia!

Carrots that bridge does look very familiar! It was such a shame we didn't have wet suits or we could have joine d in with jumping in!!

Off to laminate badge!

carrotsandcelery · 05/05/2012 21:46

It sounds like it will be very helpful for them to get a good clear picture of your uniqueness!

Is the MRI the tunnel one where you lie still?

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 05/05/2012 21:50

Yes, MRI is when you're in a tube still. It's loud and thumping, too.

carrotsandcelery · 05/05/2012 21:52

Arti I am glad you didn't join in. Sadly dcs die doing it. They do it from all the bridges along the river. That is the starter and they go for shallower and shallower water as they get more daring. I live in dread of my dcs thinking it is a good idea.

We love going there are there is a little beach and the dogs can go in the river and the dcs paddle too (with croc style shoes on). In the summer lots of people swim there but there are undercurrents and little whirlpools so I don't let mine.

It is one of my favourite places along the river.

The railway line you mentioned is where we often go for a cycle (dh and I or dd and I). I have taken ds but he is not a great cyclist yet and gets very frustrated. Hopefully this summer he will be able to come too and to cope with it. The cycle path runs for miles and miles and they have added another path uphill from it now. Dh drops dd and I at the top with our bikes when we are feeling lazy and it is nearly downhill all the way for about 2 miles. It is scary but great fun Grin

I have seen them on tv and read about them Scout. I have heard they are very noisy.

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 05/05/2012 21:57

I had an MRI on my knee when I was in my early 20s. I wasn't put all the way in the tube. This time I will be all the way in. Confused

carrotsandcelery · 05/05/2012 22:04

I can understand your Confused Scout. Are you allowed to take an ipod in or does that interfere with the machine?

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 05/05/2012 22:18

I'm not sure, carrots. When I had my scan in the States they had headphones and I told them what station I wanted and they piped it through. But I was only in up to my waist.

carrotsandcelery · 05/05/2012 22:19

Scout does anything here help?
