WTP = Winnie The Pooh

Scout19075 · 13/04/2012 22:50

Ahh, thanks! Pooh (and Paddington) rocks!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 14/04/2012 05:39

AAArrrrggghhh!!! bessie Men are a PITA when it comes to snoring! That is why I am up too early (4.00am). If it's not him waking me up it's DD. Sad
They will have to put up with me being grumpy if they wont let me get enough sleep! Grrrrrrrr Angry Sad

I can't remember the last time I slept all night without someone waking me up.

bessie26 · 14/04/2012 07:14

Have you tried punching him cats?! If it doesn't shut him up, it might make you feel better! Grin

Thankfully, DH only really snores when he has been drinking, which isn't often, and if he wakes me up, then I wake him up to tell him [evil].

Seriously though, could you wear earplugs?

carrotsandcelery · 14/04/2012 08:30

I think I am the most likely snorer in our house Blush I only do it if I have a cold though I think. Dh and I sleep in separate rooms though so hopefully I don't disturb him.

Only wear earplugs if you are sure that dh will get up if the dcs have a problem. The first time I went out and left dd with dh, when she was just over a year old, I came home about 1ish to find her screaming her head off and covered in sick in her cot while dh slept soundly in the room next door with earplugs in.

I very nearly left him.

He has grown up a bit since then fortunately but still has his very entirely selfish moments.

eg today he is golfing while I run around the countryside like a lunatic dropping dcs off and taking them places. Hmm

carrotsandcelery · 14/04/2012 08:31

Morning all!

Scout19075 · 14/04/2012 08:59

Apparently I'm a teeth grinder. [blurgh] MrScout and Toddler snore if they have colds/are stuffed up.

carrots, if it makes you feel any better, I've been up with a sneezing/wheezing/trantrumy ToddlerScout since 6 a.m. while MrScout's still in bed. Envy We more-or-less keep the same hours during the week. Angry I am NOT happy.

carrotsandcelery · 14/04/2012 09:27

Oh dear Scout. Sympathies. I have a grumpy 11 yo to ferry about the countryside for a couple of hours but then she is going for sleepover. However this afternoon we receive my 7 yo niece for a sleepover here with ds. He is VERY excited and she is generally VERY loud. Brace yourselves!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 14/04/2012 09:56

Sorry to start the morning off with such a grumpy post. Blush
I fell asleep on the sofa at around 6 but was then woken by DH and DD getting up at 7. I snapped at him and I went back to bed and slept till 9.00 so I feel a bit better now.

bessie I usually kick him or nudge him when he starts snoring like a train but he just turns over and starts again.

We often end up with one of us asleep on the sofa.
I often say if we win the lottery, I want a house with a spare bedroom. Grin

I don't mind waking around 6.00am on a school morning but any earlier than that is just too early especially at the weekend.

she played on that while i built the playmobile holiday home and then had pizza and salad, birthday cake and fruit and then went to bedSmile
i hadd a call 20mins late from her best friends mum offering to take her to woburn safari park with them today!Shock

carrotsandcelery · 14/04/2012 13:05

zoo that sounds a fabulous birthday and today sounds like it will be really special for her as well. Lucky dd! Smile

My dd is now with her friend and my ds is now eagerly awaiting the arrival of his cousin for their sleepover.

I asked dh to clean up before he sloped off golfing and he hoovered but that was all. I hope it is my dbro who brings her over Grin

bessie26 · 14/04/2012 14:49

zoo that sounds like a wonderful birthday Grin

DD2 still has a temp, but seems to have perked up a bit. I am still feeling very tired & drained, and DH isn't feeling too bright after getting in sometime after 1am! He has taken DD1 to the shop to get some easy food for tea as well as something for tomorrow's lunch (we were supposed to be going to visit a farm with friends, but there is no way I am going wandering around fields so far away from a toilet! Blush)

Hope the sleepover goes well carrots

cats my ex used to continue snoring even when he rolled over onto his front!

We had a spare room before DD2 arrived & I do miss it - DH used to go straight in there when he had been out drinking so he didn't disturb me! Grin

carrotsandcelery · 14/04/2012 14:55

The sleepover hasn't got off to a great start as they are an hour and a half late. They have phoned and let me know and we aren't going anywhere so that side of it is fine. I am just worried that ds might burst waiting Grin

I have played on the wii with him for a long time but he was getting too wound up so we did some relaxation and now he is trying to calm down watching some tv.

FX they arrive soon.

Scout19075 · 14/04/2012 19:14

I have a poorly Toddler. He's watching his last episode of Ben & Holly then MrScout's going to do bedtime so I can make dinner for us. He's so full of snot and oozing out of every facial hole. He keeps projectile sneezing. [blurgh]

zoo, it sounds like DD had a wonderful birthday and the sort I'd have liked as a kid.

carrots, I hope your DN arrived by now?

cats, how are you feeling now?

bessie, I hope you feel better soon.

bessie26 · 14/04/2012 20:29

Oh bollocks. After spending the last few days thinking that DD2 was recovering from a D&V bug, I decided that high temp just wasn't quite right so phoned the OOD & took her up to the local clinic. Turns out she has a ENT infection. Glands raised, tonsils angry, ears infected, nose runny. ABs administered. Bad Mother placard raised.

Scout19075 · 14/04/2012 20:31

Oh, poor little bessie. (Though not sure what an ENT infection is....)

bessie26 · 14/04/2012 20:33

ENT = Ear Nose & Throat

Scout19075 · 14/04/2012 20:36

D'oh, I knew that. Blush Poor little bessie. Sad

Scout19075 · 14/04/2012 21:41

Does anyone have a pointy stick? I've asked MrScout a couple of times over the past week to sort out the printer/copier so I can copy some things and he still hasn't. I want to tick the copying bit off my to do list!

carrotsandcelery · 14/04/2012 21:44

Oh no bessie! Don't beat yourself up as it is so difficult to tell, especially when they are that small. I hope the meds kick in fast and she is much improved by the morning.

Our sleepover was a bit of a damp squib. Sad Dniece finally arrived, ds and dn played happily for the afternoon. Dn started to complain she felt cold. Heating is on (we have oil again) and everyone else was fine. Ate tea enthusiastically. Dn starts to pour with snot. Dn shivering. Dn grey with dark circles under her eyes. Dn feels roasting to touch. Sad Poor kid.

I had to phone dsil and then drive dn home. She was asleep in the car within 10 mins and fell asleep on the sofa again at home once I got her there.

I am just back to find out ds has cried himself to sleep he is so disappointed.

Dh or myself are going to have to sleep on the extra bed in his room tonight to ease the disappointment.

Poor dn and poor ds Sad

The best laid schemes and all that...

I hope everyone else is having a better evening.

carrotsandcelery · 14/04/2012 21:45

-> MrScout into action so Scout can do copying.

carrotsandcelery · 14/04/2012 21:45

Now... I seem to remember dn brought me some choccies. Anyone?

Scout19075 · 14/04/2012 21:59

I have craft/kid books that I want to copy pictures so Toddler can color them then I can cut them out and he can glue. Toddler has always liked drawing and painting and is now actively asking to do it. He does a lot of free draw (until recently would only mark on blank sheets of paper) but now he likes telling me what the picture is of (for example, he painted in a picture of a train so every morning points at the picture and says "Train, choo-choo, clackity-clack!").

Scout19075 · 14/04/2012 22:01

Poor DN, carrots. And poor DS. Sad
