p.s little zoo ALWAYS draws me giraffe pictures at nursery...today scout was in the picture too...his legs were done as a zigzag x4 and made me smile

i wore wellies to pick her up as was pouring and we splashed our way home with her gigglin glike ive not heard in a whileSmile

i nearly had kittens when i went to make a sarnie for lunch...as i opened the fridge door to retrieve the cheese a large balck furry head loomed over the top and peered in..how the blazes scout got on top fridge freezer i will never knowConfused

carrotsandcelery · 18/04/2012 13:17

I have heard that tip before zoo and failed to put it into action. A tidy up of the airing cupboard is brewing so that is a great plan to put into action then. I am planning to move the bedding for each room into that room somehow (which will work in every room except the master bedroom I think). Having a set in a pillow case will mean that even dh everyone can find a matching set when required. These things are especially handy if someone has a mishap in the night eg nosebleed as ds recently demonstrated.

liveinazoo · 18/04/2012 13:18

that book looks good bessie

carrotsandcelery · 18/04/2012 13:18

I have also invested in specific towels that will just be the dcs. Dd has two bright pink ones and ds has two lime green ones. This will be an attempt to stop dd having 3 towels in her room and one in each bathroom. Now she can have one to use and one to wash iykwim.

liveinazoo · 18/04/2012 13:19

ds has themoften

amazes me how they always occur on fresh bedlinenHmm

carrotsandcelery · 18/04/2012 13:20

Nearly every time! I am Hmm about that too.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 18/04/2012 13:21

I remember when I had younger cats, they used to get up to all sorts. one used to climb the curtain. Shock

liveinazoo · 18/04/2012 13:24

oh my goodness cats!
i had a friend as a child with no curtains in her bedroom..she said when their cats were kittens they used run up curtains along top and down other side chase each other and dad got fed up pulling down curtain poles...

we have towels for each of us carrots it also makes easier to see whos leaving them on the bathroom floor/not putting in the laundry basketWink

liveinazoo · 18/04/2012 13:27

on the toilet humour theme i think i will dig out smelly peter he great pea eater and the mole who knew it was none of his business to read withthe zoolets later

little zoo has climbed on my lap for a cuddle.i had to wake her at 7,along with dd2

liveinazoo · 18/04/2012 13:30

its gone all dark and pouring down
i knew once we had a drought warning/hosepipe ban the sun would be a distant memory...i suspect summer will be a wash out and am hoping for an indian summer late septemberwhen the kids are all in big school and i can wander aimlessly soaking up the rays on our local nature reserves

CatsSleepAnywhere · 18/04/2012 13:31

I must get back to my paperwork.
I am trying to do a little, as and when I feel like it and although I still have drawers full of the stuff. The pile on the side has got a bit smaller since I started so It is making me feel like I want to carry on. Smile

carrotsandcelery · 18/04/2012 13:35

zoo goes littlest zoo start big school this year?

Cats well done! It doesn't take long to make a dent and that motivates you to keep going.

The getting organised thread is great. It has motivated me to go and do the airing cupboard.

I think I should hoover the hallway first though as Twilight is cultivating a black Twilight rug there just now.

It is pouring here as well with the odd blast of sunshine in between. What will it be at 3.15 when I am standing outside school I wonder? Hmm

carrotsandcelery · 18/04/2012 13:36

zoo we probably all have little tips like that we should share with each other. I wish I had thought of the towel thing sooner and you had it figured out all along.

Scout19075 · 18/04/2012 13:39

I'm so cold and tired. I don't want to go out tonight.

liveinazoo · 18/04/2012 13:43

well donecats every little helps

carrotsi can all but guarentee rain at pick up.am contemplating taking the zoolets wellies so we can all splash home!

the towel thing started by accident when dp got them some character towels-peppa and roary

liveinazoo · 18/04/2012 13:44

you ok scout

carrotsandcelery · 18/04/2012 14:10

What's up Scout? Are you tired or not well?

carrotsandcelery · 18/04/2012 14:17

Ok, so I hoovered thoroughly and then emptied the airing cupboard.

I am Shock

I thought I needed to buy hand towels and found about 4 buried under a whole lot of "spare" bedding (ie the sets from previous eras of decor). RESULT!

I have sorted the bedding into dd's, ds's and the big beds.

I have realised that to fold it all neatly I will need a hand [shoulder issues]

I have also realised that the bedding for the spare room is too similar to the bedding for the master bedroom but the beds are different sizes so it does matter that I get it right

It is a bigger job than I anticipated but it needs to be done as we are in chaos every time I change the sheets.

I am feeling a bit overwhelmed.

So I decided to have a look on here Grin

CamperWidow · 18/04/2012 14:21

Well we're back!!!! Thanks for the Brew and the towels, I'll put them in the wash. Aww, how did you know I like Disney Princesses?! Wink

That was an utter waste of time and money. :( It's a fiver on the bus, 10 minute walk up to the bus stop, hour each way, and the bloody library was closed! Yeah, I know I should have checked but I thought we were living in the 21st Century!!! Biscuit At least we got out of the house and Lol and I both had our wellies on and just went puddle mad on the way home|! Grin I think she was quite impressed with me!! She's got a great all-in-one waterproof suit so that goes over her wellies and she dry from head to toe. Me on the other hand........:)

Zoo maybe things like painting? Don't know what age yours are, but Lol had such a great time yesterday pinting her egg box as a pirate treasure chest. I asked her if she wanted it to be a treasure chest or a princess 'sparklies' box. These guys send out a weekly email with a new idea to do each day, it's fab!!!

That website looks great Camper. Thank you. I have added it to favourites as it will be particularly handy during the summer for me (mine are both school age).

I am having a proud mum moment. Grin I am forever moaning about the issues we have with ds (and I thank you all for putting up with me) but yesterday I was told that he has to go through to another class to be with older dcs who do maths at his level (still his year group - he is no Einstein). The headteacher today also told me how capable he was when they can get him focussed. At his music last night he did so well that his teacher told me he deserved a reward. He is now playing along to a (slowed down) backing track. He also moved up a class at swimming too. Grin

It's been in my head all day and I wanted to share something he had done right, not just the hiccups. Grin

CamperWidow · 18/04/2012 15:00

Yay CarrotsJnr!!!! It's so easy to focus on the hiccups and problems that we sometimes lose sight of just how fab the kids can be. What does he play at music? I'm guessing guitar?? Grin

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 18/04/2012 15:03

He plays the drums Camper. His dad plays guitar badly Grin

carrotsandcelery · 18/04/2012 15:04

Thanks Camper. After I posted I was a bit Blush but I guess it is good to celebrate them, not just think about the tricky bits.

sarahfreck · 18/04/2012 16:10

Really great to celebrate successes carrots. No need to be Blush ! and many congrats to your DS!

Does he have special needs?

It is just that you talked about having lots of issues with him!

liveinazoo · 18/04/2012 16:12

oh carrots thats wonderful

sharing the good bits is lovely and we should do it as much as possible.they are little such a short while
