Hi all, Welcome to the new thread.

Oiii!,*Carrots, bessie, Zoo, Scout, Dlamis, and anyone I've missed - Over here!!!

[Brew] anyone?

carrotsandcelery · 21/02/2012 10:37

Oh no! Sympathies to all with nasty bugs. It sounds horrid.

bessie sounds like good advice for Scout and Scout that is a compromise. He gets to keep the stuff but it is out of your way and labelled. Well done!

Then you only need to manage what comes into the house.

Moan away about dh. If you can't moan about a hoarder on a flylady thread then where can you? I don't think we can solve it for you but we can listen and sympathise at least.

I am snuggled up with Pup just now who is jealous because I have walked Twilight but not him. He is going with a friend for a monster romp as Ds and I have the community paediatrician soon. Obviously he doesn't know that yet so he is feeling hard done by.

I was up early this morning so I have done loads of the little bits and bobs eg dw, wm, folding some laundry, doing some ironing, cleaning worktops, decluttering vestibule, hoovering and shake and vacking vestibule, hoovering vestibule again, hoovering hallway, shake and vacking hallway, making a heap more phonecalls and appts and now having a decaff Brew Phew! Oh and walking Twilight of course.

I will have to hoover the hallway again soon before the dogs get shake and vac on their paws and get itchy.

I am very much hoping to get to the missions today or upstairs but the day is filling up with silly little tasks that might get in the way and I obviously don't know how long the com paed will take.

Have lazy, curled up on the sofa, watching cbeebies mornings everyone - that is an order!!! I will return with lucozade and (vegetarian) chicken soup for all in need.

carrotsandcelery · 21/02/2012 10:45

Hallway rehoovered and I have returned to my Brew which I had forgotten about.

I am finding it hard to get into anything when I only have 15 mins, despite knowing how much I could get done in 15 mins.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 21/02/2012 11:21

Just popping in to say a quick "hello" be fore I go and pick up DD.

I have been shopping so bought myself some chocolate and macaroons as a reward! Hoping to fit in a Brew now.

I am seriously considering cancelling Seniors. Not so much because I feel blurgh but because I suspect TS might be starting. It's not fair to make him go out past his bedtime if he's not right. I'll give it until after his nap and see how we are.

He's just gone down and I'm in bed with my laptop. Last time I felt like this was last year (probably March time, when we had that nice bout of lovely weather) and the doctor suspected flu (which was interesting considering I was anti-viral medication). The problem was the medicine was anti-viral so it was difficult for me to catch anything but when I did it took 3-4x as long to shake it (especially since I was very limited in what I could take). I'm not on anything now so hopefully should kick it soon enough.

I have managed to clear up yesterday's dishes and pots and the slow cooker. I still have a frying pan to do but can't be bothered. The trash is by the door to go out but I'm still in my PJs. TS and I have spent much of the morning on my bed watching Peppa Cochon/Peppa Pig (he's facinated by the French version) on YouTube.

I had high hopes for today.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 21/02/2012 12:36

Scout you should take it easy if you don't feel well. Please don't do what I did yesterday.
I was on the edge of exhaustion last night and ended up going to bed at 8.00.
I think If I had stayed up I would have collapsed in a heap! I couldn't think straight at all!
I still woke up fairly early today 5.00am but cause I got some decent sleep I am feeling better.Smile

I need to get some lunch then I will need to tackle the kitchen. Anyone around for buddying?

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 21/02/2012 12:46

Who knew there was was The Apprentice Ireland?! Ahhhh, I love YouTube.

bessie26 · 21/02/2012 12:51

I failed to sleep earlier, but have just been for a walk in the sunshine with DD2 & feel a bit better. Alternating ibruprofen & paracetamol seems to be working well too, oh and the wasabi coated peas and the bottle of full fat fanta!

I did find a coat for DD2 to wear in the bag of baby clothes, so I guess I have made some (tiny) progress. Will try to sleep again this arvo as I'm worried the girls are going to get sick & have me up in the night.

Hope you get some rest scout

carrotsandcelery · 21/02/2012 13:19

Oooh! I have just got home and the house smells lovely and fresh with the carpets freshened up.

I have had lunch and I am having a little wind down before the next round.

I hope everyone who needs it manages a snooze.

Scout it does sound like Seniors should be cancelled. Dealing with a sick TS when you don't feel great yourself is not a great plan.

carrotsandcelery · 21/02/2012 13:23

I forgot my other Ta Das:

Ds bag packed for activities this pm.
Rest of washing folded.
Wet washing hung.
Another load in wm.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 21/02/2012 13:27

I still haven't got to the kitchen yet. Have had lunch and just built a train track for DD. I think I will have a Brew next then I really should do the kitchen.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 21/02/2012 13:29

I think my next stop should be a mission in the bedrooms. I will take a duster in there with me. I am still having a break just now though Grin

BlackCatTryingToFly · 21/02/2012 13:37

Blush Oh well! I feel the need to treat myself. There will be cake at the end of the week.Wink Too many candles though so won't be doing them!

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 21/02/2012 13:56

Ooh! Did you say cake BC?

Is it your birthday BC? How are you celebrating? (apart from cake obviously)

I have just been organising dd's birthday party. She would like to have a craft party and there is place near us that thinks it can organise something. I suspect it will then be back to ours for an invasion and mass sleepover. I might ask my dparents to have ds and the dogs for the night in fact. Yikes!!

She would also like a family party on the actual day of her birthday, which will mean having the house spotless two weekends in a row.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 21/02/2012 14:22

It's not today, I will send you a PM as I want to keep my identity secret and if I say when it is on here it might give me away (You never know who is reading our thread Wink). We might get a takeaway so I don't have to cook. Is your DD birthday this week? You could PM me if you like.

I have done 1 x wash up.

carrotsandcelery · 21/02/2012 14:23

I am scared to mention it after last year's debacle but... it is DEFINITELY pancake day today. Have everyone made batter/bought pancakes?

And what about Lent? I don't even know what religion, if any, all of us are, but is anyone doing Lent? I wondered if, instead of giving something up, I would make myself do something instead. It seems more positive Grin

BlackCatTryingToFly · 21/02/2012 14:30

I have bought pancake mix but had forgotten it was pancake day. Shock

That means I really need to get some more tidying done in the kitchen.

I don't do lent.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 21/02/2012 14:40

I have never done Lent before either BC. I am undecided about it. Dh was raised strict Catholic and at one point wanted to be a priest (although now doesn't even go to mass) so he usually does something.

Pancake batter is made and "resting" in the fridge. The batter is really quick to make. It's the standing at the cooker for ages over each pancake that is time consuming.

Even pup gets excited about pancakes though so I am excited too Grin

liveinazoo · 21/02/2012 14:45

hi all

illness in the zoo house tooSad-ds tonsils up AGAIN plus fever.
as he generally "shares "his germs i thought id best crack on with a dash clean in case we all especially me come down with it...
due to illness in the thread i wont bore you all with the ta das

i hate pancakes with a passion but as the kids have them at school and had scotch pancakes(yum yum) for breakfast thatl do.i dont understand why something as delicious as yorkshire pudding batter can go from light and crispy deliciousness to slimy greasy vileness of a pancakeConfused

as for lent i really should give up chocolate.i did just after xmas and was dong fabtil depression bit and now ive got a shocking habit again.i know i feel soo much better without it.will have to see

hugs to all poorly flyers and flybabys.x

carrotsandcelery · 21/02/2012 14:55

Oh no! Not the zoos as well!

I have vastly reduced my choc consumption after making myself feel so ill eating all those thorntons millionaires shortbread things last week. Blush I just need to think about it to not want any more. I think I have had wee bits and pieces but not much. Dh is doing a distance challenge with a team at work so he is cycling on the exercise bike at night instead of munching and it seems I am happy not to munch as long as he doesn't.

I won't ban it though as that is guaranteed to make me want some. I will just leave it happily occasional. Grin

bessie26 · 21/02/2012 15:00

But carrots it's not pancake day until next month Wink

I reckon DD1 will have pancakes at GPs today, so I will make some at the weekend

Every time I lay down I start coughing so I have emptied DW & TD (put some away) and sorted through bag of clothes for things that might fit DD2 soon & put them in WM.

Have also had all windows open to blow germs away & everywhere now smells of tea tree oil to try to kill any remaining ones! .Am going to try again to get my head down now.

Dlamis · 21/02/2012 15:04

Afternoon all.

Parents gone actually went sunday but have been procrasinating, normality will resume tomorrow :o

zoo you are not alone in your pancake hatred. I don't can't do them, if dh wants them he has to make his own.

blackcat happy birthday for whenever it is, (even if it's not for months and the cake is actually for someone else) :o

Sending lots of get well wishes to all poorly flyers and mini-flyers. Dh has a nasty cold bug over the weekend but is getting better now.

Off to pick ds1 from school and pick up some chocolate biscuits on the way home ignoring all talk of Lent

carrotsandcelery · 21/02/2012 15:06

Happy snoozing everyone.

I am off to get ds and take him to his various things he does tonight.

bessie Arrrrgggghhhh! Don't mess with my head Wink

Scout19075 · 21/02/2012 16:16

Seniors cancelled. Nap had. Snacks are now being consumed with another dose of Peppa.

Scout19075 · 21/02/2012 16:18

Oh, and I have yet to have a proper pancake here -- everyone insists on giving me crepes on pancake day. I want thick pancakes smothered in maple syrup, with a knife & fork and served for breakfast.

(Get me, all controversial. Grin)

carrotsandcelery · 21/02/2012 18:33

The nicest pancakes I ever had were in Lombok, and had whole bananas in them (not mashed but sliced length ways through the pancake. I put on half a stone in a week Blush Yum!
