Scout19075 · 20/02/2012 16:32

My day has been alright but standing/playing with TS at the group this afternoon I realized "I don't feel well." Did, however, take some old clothes of mine to the donation and took two carrier bags of stuff (baby toys and things like unused/unopened sterilized disposable bottles) to the group as well since it it was a Sure Start activity we went to. The group leader, who I've known for two years and knows the medical situation, was very grateful as they have a case at the moment that's desparate. I feel good for it.

bessie26 · 20/02/2012 19:02

Well done scout!

I had assumed that DH had caught his man-flu off me last week (and he was just being a wuss), but it seems it is a whole new set of germs I am still bf DD2, so just hot water, lemon, honey & ginger for me, with brufen/paracetamol when necessary,

Today's exciting news is that DD2 has a tooth! She will be 10 months old tomorrow.

That laundry thread was funny carrots, I can't imagine having 4 weeks worth of clothes, let alone having the space to store it in baskets!

I'd better get on, need to read stories Grin then clear up Sad and declutter some chocolate brownie Grin

Scout19075 · 20/02/2012 19:04

I must not be well -- I completely lost it on Toddler. Sad I feel like a horrible mommy.

Scout19075 · 20/02/2012 19:12

liveinazoo · 20/02/2012 19:13

oh and bessie hurrah for the tooth!Grin

carrotsandcelery · 20/02/2012 19:49

Get thee to bed Scout as soon as TS is in his. You are not a horrible Mum, you are just not well. He will forget about it and forgive you without even knowing it.

Yay for a baby bessie's tooth. They are so cute when that tooth comes in. Watch out on the feeds now bessie Shock Ds used to like a nibble Shock so I had to stop feeding him at about 11/12 months. I have to admit I had had enough by then anyway but a lot of my friends carried on until their dcs were well over 2.

We have been all over the place and finally managed to get one piece of kit. Yay! but still can't find a hat that fits properly so I now have to do a search for stockists. My ddad has gifted the kit we managed to get to her though so that is one less bill we have to pay. He is a very kind dgrandad and she is a very lucky little girl. Fortunately she knows it and it properly grateful. Smile

carrotsandcelery · 20/02/2012 19:51

zoo well done with the CBT and for making another appointment too. I know how we feel about the hospital appts we have for ds (and so do you lot as I moan about them so much Blush) but we will all be glad we have done it in the end.

Scout that is the best sort of donating, when you know your stuff is going to someone who really, really needs it.

Scout19075 · 20/02/2012 20:17

ARGH! MrScout is going to drive me to drink.

carrotsandcelery · 20/02/2012 20:32

Oh no Scout what has he done this time?

Scout19075 · 20/02/2012 20:36

Wine is definitely the answer. I'm going to do the grocery shopping in peace then I'll come back and tell you. I love him, I do. He's a wonderful man/husband/father. But this hoarding business is going to drive me to drink.

carrotsandcelery · 20/02/2012 21:19

There must be something that could be done to help him with this Scout. It is probably making him miserable too on some sort of level. Sad

Poor you! How frustrating.

Scout19075 · 20/02/2012 21:50

I think it must be. I remember him once telling me, before I moved here/we got married, that he didn't have any reason to come home (to this house) and it made him feel claustrophobic. I knew this about him when we got married however I don't think I realized the extent.

carrotsandcelery · 20/02/2012 22:09

Now and again he probably has insight into his behaviour but generally he will feel blind panic about things he thinks will be useful being taken away from him. The thing is, he would probably never find the things even if he wanted them like my loft.

Do you think he would entertain seeking professional help or do you think his head is firmly in the sand?

Scout19075 · 20/02/2012 22:16

Head is firmly in the sand. Firmly.

I know the things I've gotten rid of he'll never notice/miss. I just need to be careful how I do things. And I learned my lesson the other week. However, he's not opposed to things going in the loft (I am, but that's another story). He seems to be relying on me boxing the stuff up and he'll loft it. So that does give me some room.

carrotsandcelery · 20/02/2012 22:24

Do you both go to the same doctor Scout? Maybe you could speak to your doctor and explain that you are worried about him. I really feel for you Scout.

bessie26 · 20/02/2012 22:31

argh! DH tries to does the loft thing too.

scout do you think we could try to think of a way that we can 'spin' the decluttering idea so that it becomes a win for MrScout? Like if he reduced those 3 boxes down to 1, it would be easier to find that really important tray & coffee tin?

zoo have you only just started the CBT? Like carrots says, it will be worth it in the end

carrots DD1 gave me a few nibbles too, but I'm trying not to think about that! I fed her until she was a year old when she decided she'd had enough of me, & I'm hoping DD2 will do the same.

I've done the sink, cleared the kitchen, laundry washed & ready to go in TD in the morning, DW done, bags packed for tomorrow, DC's clothes laid out, vacuumed downstairs.

Just had another look at this week's missions - there is loads of stuff in my bedroom that doesn't belong in here, but I don't know where to put it!

My first bedroom related task will be to sort out some of the bags of baby clothes to see what can be worn & what can go back in the loft.

I'd better go to sleep now, I reckon I need to get up at 6am so I can have a couple of Brew before feeding DD2 at 630 & waking DD1 at 7

Scout19075 · 20/02/2012 22:52

Well, I seem to have a win that all of the stuff can be boxed and put in the loft. It's a small victory but a victory. I think if I box things up I can do a bit of weeding in the process so it's not as much going into the loft. We talk about moving now and again and do look I dread the thought of moving all of this cr@p-- stuff/paperwork/magazines. I'm afraid the longer it hangs around the greater the chance for stuff to get lost/stolen and identity theft/fraud. I can't get that through to MrScout, thought.

bessie26 · 20/02/2012 22:55

can you write the date on the boxes? Then when it does come to moving you can at least point out how long it's been since anyone (you) looked at it?

Scout19075 · 20/02/2012 23:01

Oh, good idea bessie. When I was an office manager (back in the day) I was the most organized file-er ever. Everything was alphabetical, dated, filed, boxed, etc. It was lovely.

Yes, I think if I label every box with the contents (including years!) and when it was lofted....

I'm sorry I've been so moany about MrScout again. I'm just at my wits end and not feeling well isn't helping.

We've changed our swimming day from Tuesday to Thursday and I think when TS goes for his nap tomorrow I might have one, too. I'll just make sure I have the Seniors bag packed up before TS goes for a rest.

Scout19075 · 21/02/2012 07:01

I've been mostly awake since about 4-ish. I feel grim. Today is going to be a long day and I don't see much flying happening.

Good luck to everyone else for today.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 21/02/2012 09:17

Morning all, Sorry you're not feeling great Scout.

I need to:
Hang wet washing
go shopping for essentials, (milk, bread etc)
wash up
That's probably enough for this morning.

Hows everyone else?

OP posts:
bessie26 · 21/02/2012 10:15

Urgh. Feel awful today. The girls are both coughing, and DD1 was looking a little peaky this morning, so I dosed her up with Calpol before sending her off with GPs, they're going to the zoo so fx the fresh air does her some good. Poor DH is sick in his hotel!

Lunch (falafel) is in the slow cooker, DD2 has just gone down for a nap, so I'm going to sleep too. Don't think there will be any flying here today
