Congratulations bessie! Am really pleased DD2 arrived safe and sound.

I have a confession to make....I have been missing in action as I decided to get a cleaner who started 3 weeks ago. Feel like I can't come back on the thread as I have failed but just really struggling to cope with working full time and getting the cleaning done too. However she is a bit rubbish and I want to get rid of her and do it all myself now.

Looks like everyone else is doing well - we are away at the mo but going to join the gardening thread when we get back.

Carrots we are up in your neck of the woods at the mo!

I made a huge mess of the house today, emptying the car and then making a massive picnic and running out the door without tidying any of it up.

I have driven for about 3 hours, run around all over the woods, etc and just can't face dealing with the mess just now. Dh seems similarly glued to the sofa. I suspect it will be a big FAIL on the flylady tonight and we will start again tomorrow.

It is amazing how a day off means chaos. Flylady clearly makes an enormous difference.

Morning all - I have begun to reclaim my house this morning. Worktops are scrubbed and the first load is in the dishwasher. At least one more load needs to go on though - there seem to be click lock tubs multiplying beside the sink.

Next step is the bags in the middle of the kitchen floor and then it will be the kitchen table and the stuff all over the hallway - one day - ONE DAY - with my eyes off the ball and we are in chaos! Shock

hi carrots I know what you mean when you have a day off the routines and stuff, it just goes to show that flylady does work. We have had a day at home today and the house and garden looks like a bomb site. My two can certainly make a big mess. They have both played so nicely today though so I am just reminding myself I can clear it up once they are in bed. Deep breathes seem to work.

Sharon welcome back, its good to post whether you have a cleaner or not. I work partime and struggle with all the cleaning and stuff. Keep posting and we can keep each other motivated.

Sharon your post didn't show on my screen yesterday. That is happening a lot at the mo and with fb too.

Where are you Sharon? I am intrigued now. I might walk past you and never know!!

My dmum would know exactly what you meant about the cleaner. She got one when she went back to work after having my dbrother and me. She was actually a very good cleaner but mum was relieved when she had to stop. She just preferred to do it herself. My ddad does most of it now he has retired and mum cooks and irons.

I think you can post even with a cleaner Sharon - sadly they don't solve everything. Sinks still need shined, clothes still need washed and cleaners don't declutter [bushock] so there are still things that make it worth dipping in for motivation.

Dosey the dishwasher has been on 3 times today and there is still a load to go. It is all cake boxes and picnic boxes as well as the usual dishes, pots etc.

I have decluttered the table, hallway and little pile that was developing on the work top. I have also put on 2 loads of washing so I am regaining control - yet again.

Hi am visiting my parents who live in a town which has an RAF base in NE Scotland - aren't you nearby?

Thanks all - I have felt like a failure for having to have a cleaner. As you say a cleaner doesn't shine my sink every night or do my hotspots for me.

Well done everyone and lets get motivated as its bac to reality on Tuesday

Sharon you are near me but still a couple of hours away

Have a fabulous weekend.

Afternoon flyers. I hope everyone is suitably stuffed with chocolate now. I don't imagine many of you are doing your housework today but for whatever bizarre reason I decided to wade through a pile of ironing this morning. I haven't finished it as I have a wonky arm and it was aching but I got a lot of it done.

Other than that it has been dishwashing and washing machine stuff mostly. We have also decluttered the same areas we decluttered yesterday [buhmm]

I am itching to hoover but the dcs have an elaborate farm set up all over the kitchen floor so I don't want to wreck it.

Dd is currently upstairs tidying her bedroom [bushock] and what is even more surprising is that she wasn't asked to [bushock] [bushock]

I am slightly concerned about the pile of clothes I spied when passing the door but I am trying hard to wipe that from memory.

Carrots -well done on the ironing. What's wrong with your arm? And it sounds like you are on top of things if you have been decluttering. We have been out all day on a steam train with DC - had a fab day.
Am now packing for the 9 hour journey home Hmm

Happy Easter to flyers everywhere

Safe journey Sharon - your day sounds far more exciting than mine. Envy

I am not sure what I have done to my arm. A nursey friend thinks I have fractured it but surely I couldn't have walked around for 2 weeks, weeding and scrubbing and hoovering etc with a fractured arm.

I thought it was getting better and started doing more and now it is achey again so I will have to relent and see the doctor. I am not sure what I expect him to do though.

Dh seems to have finally realised that working long hours doesn't allow him to swan about all weekend and leave all to me (Hurrah!) so we have got on top of laundry folding and dishes etc.

I have also decluttered most of the Malteser egg that dh gave me this morning - although dh did help a great deal with this project. I still have the fun sized packets and one little bit of shell to motivate me through house blessings etc this week though [bugrin]

bessie I hope all is going well with you and your family.

Morning (just) everyone.

Who is on holiday today? My dcs have school today Confused

I have done the majority of my home blessing this morning. I have got stuck, as usual, at the kitchen.

I have cleaned out the fridge though and baked a cake too - sadly not for us though.

Today's mission is here

The zone this week seems to be the living room which suits me fine as I have just cleaned ours. I should probably adapt the instructions to suit our kitchen though as that is where we sit and watch tv etc.

I have also scrubbed my worktops and dealt with a load of washing.

Once I have revived I will dust the kitchen, pick up the toys, declutter and hoover it. [phew]

What is everyone else up to?

Carrotsandcelery · 25/04/2011 12:03

This is the detailed cleaning list for the lounge here if anyone needs it.

Report
Carrotsandcelery · 25/04/2011 13:22

Well the kitchen is dusted and mostly decluttered (AGAIN) but I am sitting beside another basket of unfolded dry laundry and trying to summon it to sort it out.

Is there no one else out there today?

Hello there everyone - hopefully you'll remember me! Hope you had a good Easter and lots of chocolate.

My back's a little better - I had a steroid injection into my spine which made a real difference. But the house is pretty much back to where it was before I started flying. I'm contemplating doing some of the baby steps again... I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and the amount I'm able to do at the moment is - well, I'm not able to do what I was, put it that way.

Report
Carrotsandcelery · 25/04/2011 19:18

Long - great to see you are still with us. I hope your back continues to improve. An injection into your spine sounds a bit Shock

I would be up for a proper revision of babysteps from step one onwards. I think some of my routines are a bit hit or miss at the moment. We could go back to basics if you like but only if you promise to take it easy - no rummaging under the bed or anything.

Report
SharonGless · 25/04/2011 21:23

Hi long - I have been mia for a while so would be happy to go back to babysteps with you. Just travelled 9 hours to get home and unpacked two cases. 2nd load of washing in and dishwasher on. SINK IS SHINY ladies. So that is babystep one completed.
Bring it on (again Wink)

Report
Longtalljosie · 25/04/2011 21:36

Oh that would be fab! Smile I didn't think I'd have company, I just thought I'd be discreetly re-babystepping!

Shall we start tomorrow with step 6? Steps 1-5 are all about the sinks and the shoes and we know all about that Wink

Report
SharonGless · 25/04/2011 21:37

Yep that sounds good to me. Step 6 it is then. I may try and do a few of other tasks as I am going along but need to get back in the routine

Carrotsandcelery · 25/04/2011 22:13

Step 6 here as well then - that works brilliantly for me.

You have my sympathies Dosey - I love it when the dcs are off. We have a 5 day weekend coming up though and dh will be off too so I am risking being excited!

Report
Longtalljosie · 26/04/2011 11:55

Thanks Dosey... ooh Zumba, I really want to do that but will have to wait a month or three... Is it all Latin music or other stuff too? I used to do a workout called BodyJam but they don't do it where I live now.

Two minute hotspot done... It's amazing how much you can do in 2 mins!
