Hurrah for the finished dining room bessie - these things can linger on for ages. It sounds like it is just in time too. I hope you are pleased with the results.

Keep working away with the 5 min toy tidy. It does rub off. Mine generally keep on top of things downstairs but my slackness last week seems to have been infectious.

I cleaned out the small furries this morning and upstairs is a shocking disgrace.

I have been child free for 2 hours so I have done a massive house blessing to catch up. The house looks and smells much better thank goodness. (and the bathroom bins are emptied and scrubbed.) It was beginning to get depressing but now it feels lovely and routines should be easier to keep up even with the dcs at home now.

I also found 2 towels that my SIL or her bf hid while they were here Hmm I am a bit scared to unfold them and considering just putting them straight into the bin Shock

I didn't tackle upstairs though as I think the dcs need to take some part in that, although I will help with some bits of it. If I do it they don't take care to keep it nice. If it is their work they are more careful.

I am enjoying a bit of a slob out for a while before I do a wee bit more and then go and pick up the dcs.

Hi all, I have been lurking this week since I have been at work but I have managed to keep up with my daily routines and daily missions. I find the bathroom zone an easy zone to work in. I keep it clean with my home blessing and since we dont have a laundry room, this week is easy! I have finished work now for the rest of the easter holidays Smile. I dont know if this means I will get more or less housework done but I do know I intend to have lots of fun with my girls and eat lots of easter eggs Wink.

Hope everybody is well xx

Hi Dosey - good to see you.

I have just been doing basic routines today but have just done a thorough scrub of the inside of my car as it was vile. My ds who is only 6 was moaning about the smell everytime he got into it. I suspect it was his debris and the dog that was causing the stink, coupled with the heat.

I have febreezed it and left all the car doors open on the driveway.

I normally avoid febreeze but I had no idea what else to use. Any tips?

BTW when I cleaned the spare room yesterday I realised there was no hint of a trace of a blood stain anywhere, despite ds making it look like a crime scene, so the salt and cold water tip was definitely a winner!

Afternoon everyone. What have all of you been up to?

It is glorious sunshine here so I have spent a few hours weeding my way round the edge of the lawn. It has taken me 3 massive garden refuse bags to get half way Shock and I am aching all over so I have showered and I am chilling for a bit.

It reminded me of our discussion a while back about flylady for the garden though.

Do all of us have gardens? I don't know whether to start a thread in gardening and see who jumps in or if there are enough of us on here gardening to motivate ourselves in the garden too. What does everyone think?

The house is in severe need of attention btw and we are having visitors this week too. Our schools go back tomorrow for 4 days so I shall be doing a major home blessing starting tomorrow. I hope I don't ache too much!

morning carrots, well done with the weeding yesterday. I hope you are not too sore today. We did mention a flylady for the garden a while back yes. I have a garden which doesnt take much keeping but is in need of tlc. I think a garden thread would be good. My dds are off this school, dp and me are off work this week too so I am hoping to do a little bit a day but still have lots of family fun too.

Lets hope the sun keeps shining, it gets the kids in the garden and keeps the house tidy !

Hi, not much cleaning or gardening being done here as we had a bit of a family get together this weekend. Need to do home blessing this afternoon when DD naps, but will be busy playing until then! Grin

Mine went back to school today and I braced myself for the big tidy up but it only took about 45 mins - I was so relieved.

I have a deep clean to do tomorrow but there is no point until really the day before my visitors come or I will have to do it again and again.

I did our bedroom, the spare room, the lounge and the ensuite today as the visitors won't be in there anyway. I have massively decluttered the kitchen and dusted the massive windowsill ready for scrubbing tomorrow and swished and swiped the main bathroom as I do that every day anyway.

I love flylady - even when I think it is a mess now, it is not actually that bad.

I am off to do a bit of work on ds bedroom as it is a bit out of hand, and the landing. I am itching to do more weeding as it is lovely out there today but I do ache a bit so I don't want to put myself off for weeks. I might set the timer and do 15 minutes if I can get to the bottom of ds room and the landing. I will see how it goes.

Sorry I can't do links as dd has messed about with my toolbar and I can't figure out how to get it back yet.

I am on fire today Grin I have done ds room and the landing and dusted and hoovered it and hoovered the stairs and dusted the intricate ballustrades on the stairs even - I felt I had earned a Tunnock's Tea Cake for my efforts Grin Grin

Dd's room looks really bad now everything else is clean. I will let her do the majority of that though and then go in after her and help with the tricky bits. She is 10 so she is perfectly capable of taking responsibility for it.

Now the debate is dog walking or weeding? I think the dog wins Grin

Dosey and bessie I hope you are having fun with your families. I miss mine today. I love the holidays!

I have started a gardening thread <a class="break-all" href="//awww.mumsnet.com/Talk/gardening/1196913-Reluctant-Gardeners-sign-up-here-gardening-flylady-style" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">here to try and keep us motivated in the garden, the same way we have been in the house.

Please come and join in so that I don't look like a complete pratt we can get the thread going.

gardening thread sounds like a great idea carrots, but I think I'm going to be reliant on my parents to keep the weeds under control for the next few weeks/months!

damn baby still hasn't arrived! (40+4) perhaps some dead-heading will help?

Ha ha! A long time friend of mine had a beautiful baby girl last week. She was overdue, uncomfortable and impatient too. I told her what worked for us and she was not impressed. Her dd arrived very soon after though Wink.

I hope your bump gets moving soon. I am really excited and Envy.

Hi everybody, Carrots you wear me out, all that work in the house and garden and two threads on the go, how do you do it!!!! I have been pottering in the garden most of the day today so nowI am going to have a whiz around the house to get my routines done before I go to Zumba.

Bessie I hope things happen too, we also used the same system as Carrots when ours were over due!!! I did also try pineapple and a vindaloo!!!! I am not quite sure which one of them did the trick but after that lot things moved pretty fast!!!!

Hmmm... I could be tempted by another curry (had one at the weekend!)

I had a sweep this afternoon, have more reflexology booked for thurs & if all else fails, i'm booked in for an induction next weds... it just seems so bizarre after DD came so early! (33+5)

Anyway, I finished my home blessing today & have done some dead heading & weeded the asparagus bed. DH is "working from home" this arvo so we've just been out for a walk Grin & I am now knackered! DD will be home from her GPs soon so had better find some energy from somewhere!!

Raspberry leaf tea is rumoured to have an impact too bessie and the walking, which you have obviously tried. Bouncing is supposed to help too but that sounds a bit dangerous to me. Fingers crossed you have some exciting news for us soon.

I have only done basic routines today as I have been baking and failing today. Dh will be pleased as he can have all the rejects Grin. I need to do a thorough hoover too of the kitchen and hallway. I tried the vanish all over carpet method this morning. I will report back on results after the hoovering.

I am not sure what my visitors are going to eat though.

Dosey the very word Zumba scares me - and you accuse me of wearing you out? Grin

I am waiting for Cauldron sausages to cook - on your recommendation bessie so I hope I like them.

I think raspberry leaf tea is supposed to make your labour shorter, rather than making it start sooner. I've been drinking it for 3 weeks anyway! I don't have anything to bounce on, so can't try that! Have sent DH out for a curry though as I really fancy one now!

I wish I could be bothered to do some baking... perhaps tomorrow!

Zumba looks like great fun dosey, have you been doung it long? I'm looking forward to giving it a go when I am a bit more mobile & able to leave the house for more than a couple of hours!!

Are you still waiting bessie?

I was up early today as I couldn't sleep, so the house has been hoovered thoroughly - the Vanish on the bit of carpet I did worked quite well surprisingly. The worktops are scrubbed, the dishwasher has been dealt with, the table is set for coffee...I have even done some more dusting.

I do need to do a final check on the main bathroom before people arrive though

hi everybody. Well so far this morning, all I have done is play with play dough with my girls. I will check flylady to see what I am supposed to be doing.

Bessie how are you. I drank raspberry leaf tea with both my pregnancies and I had very short labours. I have been doing zumba for six weeks and I love it. I am not too good at some of the moves but I get a buzz from doing it and it seems to give me a boost for a couple days afterwards.

Hope we are well and enjoying this weather. We are all going out for a pub lunch and a play in a pub garden. I cant wait!!!

Can you go and stand in M&S? Do they still give women vouchers if their waters break in there? What is your favourite shop? Try waiting there and see if they will give you some freebies if things start moving along.

Hi! DD2 arrived at 520 Thursday morning weighing 8lb 12oz. Came back home that afternoon & is settling in nicely Grin

Think I'll be fluttering rather than flying for a while, but will be back once we've found ourselves some kind of routine! Am determined to keep the sink shiney, but that'll probably do for now! Grin
