I did it yonks ago (origional threads Wink) , have drunk alot of tea slipped since then and really want to start it again as it really seemed to work for me :) I am going to blitz as much as I can before the 1st (tree/decs away tonight etc.) so I am starting as much as I can with a clean sheet :) Anyone a lapsed flyer (or whatever we call ourselves) or wants to be a domestic goddess (Hmm) as of the 1st? I've done my back in! Although wierdly, it doesn't hurt there, but it feels like someone is drilling into my thigh with one of those bore things they built the Channel Tunnel with Hmm But the doctor says back, so back it is.

So the house is going to go to rack and ruin. Oh well...

Carrotsandcelery · 26/01/2011 11:52

Oh no Long that sounds hideous Shock - what has the doc suggested to treat it?
We will be here to motivate you when it has healed. I wouldn't worry about it for now - the house won't fall down. Get well soon.

Longtalljosie · 26/01/2011 12:02

Thank you! Ibuprofen for the swelling to encourage the trapped nerve to sort itself out, and co-codomol for the pain. Oddly, now I know what the problem is, I'm less upset by it. Still as painful but not as upsetting if you know what I mean. Pain's a funny old thing.

Afternoon All....

Thanks for all the update emails - I have been sticking to my routines but haven't found time for the 15 min decluttering or daily missions. Hoping that I can catch up with the daily missions this afternoon (I spookily cleared out my underwear / sock / tights drawer last week and threw out a large carrier bag of stuff).

I'm finding the routines really good, especially the night-time routine, I normally just leave the house as it is and collapse into bed but now feel good about getting up to go to bed earlier and getting organised for the day ahead.

Wasting time re-cleaning stuff from the dishwasher so cleaned out all the dishwasher jets last night - fingers crossed it works. Used a paperclip - not sure if thats recommended?

Unloaded my sainsburys online shop and found a free bottle of Sambuca and JS Basics Whisky - maybe the guy thought I needed a drink??!!

Well done everyone - babysteps nearly finished - what happens next??

Carrots Your DD sounds delightful! Lets hope my two DSs start helping out soon!

planestrainsautomobiles · 26/01/2011 15:08

Get well soon Josie - missed your post. Ouch - sounds painful but hope that the drugs are knocking the pain out.

Curlybrunette · 26/01/2011 20:48

Yay carrots finding the money, and plains for the drinks. I love a freebie!

Long, take it easy, hope your back/thigh feels better soon

x

Thursday's baby step

Thursday's mission

Morning everyone. Long I hope you are feeling better today.
planes did your dishwasher/paperclip efforts work?
noeyedear your post didn't show on my page last night Hmm I hope it tasted good.

I forgot to do yesterday's mission (I got carried away with my drawer clearing) so I have to add that to today's list. I also need to clean the towel rail in the bathroom. I noticed today it was looking a bit suspect. Then I have ironing to do. I haven't done it as regularly as last week as I have been out quite a lot Grin so I am a little scared to look. I am on top of washing/drying/folding though at least.

Have a great day everyone - let us know what you get up to and keep us motivated.

Dosey · 27/01/2011 12:24

Morining

thank you carrots for the thread, nothing too daunting for today. Though I still have to clean under the bed and wash my pillows. I dont have a tumble dryer so will have to rely on the airing cupboard.

I am currently thinking about eating well while I scoffing chocolate cornflakes!!!!! Hope we are all well xxx

Carrotsandcelery · 27/01/2011 12:44

Eating well may be a step too far for me - for now anyway. It is definitely not my forte. I have to admit, having little cleaning projects and routines to follow when I am in the house does ease the yawning boredom and get me busy rather than raiding the cupboard (she says while sipping a Pepsi Max - in my defense I have been up half the night with ds)
My towel rail is now clean, I have dusted the tops of the doors etc and I have done the ironing (there wasn't that much so now I am wondering where the ds have hidden their dirty clothes this time Shock)
Someone give me a massive boot and send my flying back into my study now please - I haven't touched it all week Blush

Curlybrunette · 27/01/2011 14:00

Hi everyone,

I had a really productive half an hour this morning and cleared 4 binliners of clothes from ds's bedrooms. I've also done the usual swish and swipe, straight up, showered and dressed, floors swept (going to mop in a mo)and the kitchen is looking very tidy.

I had a good look through all the paperwork that needed dealing with and I sorted that on Sunday so unexpectedly I am a bit ahead for today!

Smile
Curlybrunette · 27/01/2011 14:05

Just noticed the email I got today is different to the link you've put on carrots. Mine said something about Thursday being errand day so write a list of all the appointments and things that need sorting. That's what I did on Sunday!

I will wash my pillowss later!

Curlybrunette · 27/01/2011 14:06

'pillows'

Longtalljosie · 27/01/2011 17:24

Be careful, pillow-washers... If they're feather ones and you can't get them bone dry afterwards they go all manky...

Dosey · 27/01/2011 21:16

carrots hope you got your arse into that study and did a good fifteen minutes. You were doing so well in there. No more excuses fifteen minutes tomorrow as well!!!

All well here, managed to wash two pillows, Long they are not feather ones so hopefully they wont go manky, they have just gone extremely lumpy. I have never washed pillows before.Blush DP will be chuntering tonight when he goes to bed. Have done my routines in fact by half seven the kids were in bed, the clothes out, packups done, sink shined and I was in the bath reading my magazine. A treat I've not had in ages Smile

Carrotsandcelery · 27/01/2011 21:24

Sorry Dosey I designated the hour that ds was at his club up at the school to the study and when I dropped him off I was told I was on duty Shock. A little prior warning would have been nice but it was great fun. Grin
It has been all go since then though as I had to go over to my parents, then feed the dcs and staighten up for the babysitter so I could go to a meeting. [yawn emoticon]
I am not sure where the time will come from tomorrow but I will try to get in there and do some desperately needed filing.
For now, my sink is shined, bags are packed, clothes are sorted and I am about to scoff a Galaxy caramel egg Grin Grin
Well done everyone.
Good luck Dosey on the lumpy pillow front - I have done that before and had to buy new pillows. Shock

bessie26 · 27/01/2011 22:47

Any ideas why the pillows go lumpy? I was going to try washing one tomorrow.

Have been at work, and went out last night, so have been doing the bare minimum, but hope to catch up on cleaning & missions tomorrow.

carrots look fwd to hearing what progress you make in the study tomorrow! Wink

planestrainsautomobiles · 27/01/2011 23:18

Night everyone - off to bed now (whoops missed my bedtime)

Had a really busy week (been out 2 nights and I never go out!) plus I have a cold just hope that it clears up before Sunday / Monday for DS1's birthday treat and birthday party!! Went to see a Paediatric Dietician this afternoon about DS1's very fussy eating.....feeling really good about it all now though as have a clear action plan (such a relief).

I'm sticking to my routines and very happy today as had my tumble dryer and oven fixed - they've both been fairly temperamental (had the engineer out 3 times now) but fingers crossed they seem to be working now.

Luckily our house is fairly minimalist its just when you dig deeper you can uncover the clutter but trying to do a little decluttering everyday.

Food is very important to me, become a shaky mess if I don't eat very regular so today's babystep is a very easy one!

Carrots - here's a boot from me, remember, set your timer for 15 mins only and stop when its finished. Easy peasy!

SharonGless · 28/01/2011 08:19

daily mission
Friday's babystep
Kelly's mission

Morning can't believe I am first to post but am off today so motivating myself first thing. I like the babystep!
Thought I would post the Friday mission which is a good habit to get into as I end up leaving car until it is grim then tell DH it is his responsibility lol.

Dosey · 28/01/2011 13:01

Thank you sharon for todays mission. Daily missions???? When did they sneak in???? Well todays baby step and Kelly's misson are simple so might be able to manage a daily misson xxx

planestrainsautomobiles · 28/01/2011 15:42

Thanks Sharon....so now we have two missions per day?? Agree the babystep is a good one - I did that last Friday and went for nails and eyebrow threading (not sure I'm feeling up for it today though).

I'm completely behind with the Master Bedroom missions but think I could get through them in 30 mins (I'll wait for DH to get home, promised he'll be home early tonight)

Still full of a stinking cold :-(

I've managed to iron (sat down) for at least two hours and only have a small pile left AND clean out all the oven. Last time I got a professional in to do it, but they had a 4 wk wait so decided to do it myself this time.

noeyedear · 28/01/2011 18:50

I've been really rubbish today, as I've been out all day but i really need to do that mission- My car is awful! Its to dark now, but will def. do it tomorrow!

Curlybrunette · 28/01/2011 20:42

Hi girls,

I had a spare 5 minutes waiting for a friend at school pick up time on Wednesday so I picked up all the rubbish then, though it could do with a dust and wipe down.
I haven't sorted my bag out but I did do it a couple of weeks ago so it isn't too bad.

I cleared my dresser last Sunday, it was so cluttered and the dust was embarrasingly horrific. Since Sunday I have felt literally 100 times better every time I walk in to my bedroom.

Think I might not bother with the pillow washing if lumpiness may occur. 1 of mine is a memory foam one anyway which wouldn't fit in the washer.

Have a great weekend,
x

Carrotsandcelery · 28/01/2011 21:09

Evening ladies - thanks for posting the links Sharon.
I hope your cold takes a hike in time for the festivities planes.
I need to do/like all the tasks for today but frankly they will have to wait. All I have done today is swish the bathrooms. My day has lurched from one crisis to the next and all I will be doing tonight is trying to sedate myself with camomile tea and junk food. Sad
I will pick myself up and dust myself down and get back in the saddle but not right now.
Keep it going girls - I will join you again tomorrow.

cerealqueen · 28/01/2011 21:16

I signed up for flylady a while ago but it just seems to be about people talking about shining up their sinks, how does it actually work?
(the emails have since been marked as spam as there were sooo many of them) Blush

noeyedear · 29/01/2011 08:38

Cerealqueen I found that too- I just stick to this thread. Much more manageable!

Carrots Hope crisises (crises?) over now!
