swanriver · 24/11/2010 11:41

jas were you really? [nosy emoticon - rushes back to thread again..actually no, haven't got time as am for once doing some routinesWink

Serious organising this morning, following on from last night.
Done
Ds back to school first shower for 2 weeks Shock and had to steal ds2's tie, and give ds2 the elastic one Blush
sorted out tombola prizes in icy PTA shed with another mum
sink
dw
floor
made two beds/bedrooms tidied
2 loads of laundry
supper - pie, need to make filling but have ingredients
put out scout clothes
several kitchen hotspots

Still a lot of mess to deal with, but now going to crack on with piano practice -lesson later

Wendy very aggravating. Still I suppose baby has its own ideas about timing...

SatinShoes · 24/11/2010 12:41

Isnt it lovely to reminisce?

T is having an equally hard time of a different nature at the moment. She has a thread in parenting so is obviously still around. I dont cross paths with her much either though.

I was so big on flylady then - it was all the nesting instincts I had through DD2s pregnancy. My cleaner has got another job. so I may need to get my backside into gear again.

Good luck wendy.

SatinShoes · 24/11/2010 17:32

swanriver · 24/11/2010 17:32

Hi all just read this thread and look at my first posts. I think I lurked for a while then jumped in. It was May of last year when I got a weekend to myself and did the garden. I think I'm now very obessive about ..posting...not housework! Mad seemed to be a big part of it then. Maybe she is still here but keeping a lower profile
I couldn't keep up with all her craft ideas [smiles]
Right lost 5lbs this week probably by being angry! No, really by skipping cooking a few big evening meals during the week!
Wendy Break a leg and dget the show on the road.
Swan yes, it is freezing and my office has no heating (long story and cut backs) but no fun snow for the likes of us.
OFM going to take a page out of your book and get some exercise. Yep! Panto tickets booked too!
Right off to swimming before the boys get back!

OverflowingMum · 24/11/2010 18:57

evening all

wendy cuddling babay yet?????

nutty hope you enjoyed swimming. I wa smeant to go to gym, but seem to have opted for a glass of wine and left over oven chips instead Blush

swan you're sounding organised today...freezing here too...

am feeling quite bleeeeeuuuurrrggghhh today

DS is still REALLY upset every day I drop him off to nursery...am trying to rationalise that on the whole I do feel it is a decent nursery, but he clearly hates it Sad
I sobbed all the way to work...

was my full day today though, so easier than my short days Wink
Work went fairly well
dd's moaning niw though that they done't like after school club....
also seems now that I have the chance to increase my hours at work from Feb/March...not that I really want to, but consultant wants me too...complicated...but need to ponder

I think I like the job itsel...just not all the stress and guilt and hassle that goes with childcare etc...
and we need the money...as in really NEED, so I have no choice but to work....but HATE seeing my littlest boy so sad every day....Sad

anyway...long waffly post....am just feeling sorry for myself...
am praying for snow and a day off for allWink

House in moderate chaos as always...but thank flip tomorrow's Thursday!

BBtomorrow

scattyspice · 24/11/2010 19:33

Oh no ofm hope ds gets used to it Sad.
ss I remember you when you were FGS/EV Smile.

Lots of snow here Shock. Very difficult Rainbows/Beavers/Sainsburys/Rainbows/Beavers run in a blizzard!!

wendy start doing star jumps now or you'll be having a snow baby Grin.

OverflowingMum · 24/11/2010 19:59

oh gosh scatty where abouts are you? (cant rmemeber)

OverflowingMum · 24/11/2010 20:01

remember even!

scattyspice · 24/11/2010 20:02

Newcastle (brrr)!

OverflowingMum · 24/11/2010 20:13

oooh...just send it a tiny bit further south!
would soooo love a day off tomorrow....

wendy still thinking of you......

swanriver · 24/11/2010 20:44

OFM oh dear Sad There's no solution really. Do you think once you've gone he quite enjoys it, perhaps it's just parting that upsets him? A friend said her three children all cried without fail when she left them at day nursery, and it was almost like a ritual they went through every morning, for years...And like you, she said it was a lovely nursery (BBC nursery so no room for error.. all those journalists)

Horrendously badly organised evening, have now given up all attempts at good parenting, boys watching some football match, dd in bath eating snack a jacks. We have walked/bused for miles backwards and forwards on Beaver/Brownie run, all because I was too useless to cancel/scrounge a lift/dropoff. Dh is out to dinner for first time in ages, so didn't seem fair to tell him he had to come back just to babysit.

Note to self: ALWAYS ASK OTHERS FOR HELP IN ADVANCE!

OverflowingMum · 24/11/2010 20:53

awww swan I too am always useless at asking for help with things like that. Although have been much better this year and have arranged for a friends of dd1s Mum to drop dd1 and 2 home after singing club on Thurs - she is more than happy to do it, it is on her way home and it is SO much easier for me not to have to do 2 pick ups on Thurs...but it was a massive thing for me to accept her offer at first Hmm but then when her FIL passed away I droppped her dd off home once or twice and was glad to help...so I think people do like helping out when they can...if we can swallow pride and accept help....Hmm
anyway...snack-a-jacks in bath sounds fun, and I have long since given up pretence of good parenting! LOL

really should go to bed ....bbtomorrow Grin

all children at school Yay
with violins and gloves double yay!

determined to plod on this morning with some basics bbl, think I am slightly losing my grip Hmm

Nuttybear · 25/11/2010 10:54

Morning all
Swan small things make us happy. I have loads of kids over for playdates o lots of Mum's now owe me. make friend's with only kids, I love having kids over (except the clever clogs who made my lad feel inadequate last week 'cause he is the best in EVERYTHING! SadBragging is not an attractive quality. I love his Mum (I like him too!)I know its nothing to do with parenting! Hmm
OFM Ds used to cry going to nursery at different stages. The longer I stayed the worse it got. 5mins later he was playing with friends. he doesn't remeber anything bad about nursery now. The heart break of being a parent.
Decided not to be so obsessive about housework and branch out a little. So.. decided to pop in to see neighbour who has M.E. 1 1/2 hour later.. I could find a spot where she drew breath so, I could say I must be going now Shock I planned 30mins tops.
So now need to dash about but need to post list Hmm I never figure out why!
So here goes
W/M booted done
Tidy kitchen
make beds
blitz the house by making it look tidy
Look for rocketship quilt cover I can't figure out where it is????
Go to Maths workshop in school
DS on playdate
Collect DS fom playdate and had over to Mum to babysit.
Go to school shopping thingy
have make-over ha!ha!
get home and pay for cab for MUM!
DH is having Parents evening and will want to go to the pub!!!! So we are paying lots of money for Mum to get home Hmm
See you later in the tea break

swanriver · 25/11/2010 11:44

I've bought some new loo-seats! To avoid cleaning existing Blush

Nutty strangely the onlies round here have rather un-helpful parents, well not exactly unhelpful just very very scheduled, so unlikely to take kindly to casual requests for rescue. Also no-one wants to have my children for playdates at 8pm Shock. No, I need a teenager who wants to earn a few bob here and there. Have rung one up.

Have been on a long walk, amazing how it clears your head, although it would have been more efficient to drive...now feel much more focused.

swanriver · 25/11/2010 11:50

Nutty still lovely mum is the best babysitter - lucky you, tho' very annoying isn't it when two lots of evenings clash unavoidably.

Could Mum stay the night even?

Seeing my parents this evening (babysitting problems with that and all Hmm at brother's. Dad has just rung me to tell me to provide birthday cake? Her birthday was 10 days ago Shock I'm not panicking. I can make one. I have all day after all Wink and nothing to do WinkWinkmuch.

Nuttybear · 25/11/2010 12:49

Right posting before maths workshop. I hope I can hide my lack of education Blush South London School with a very frudulant Maths teacher. I know this to be true as he worked at DH's school (he had just started teaching) then go sick then work at our school! True story!
