I'm having a wobble, I'm not sure the colour of the walls is working with the floor tiles in the family bathroom - thoughts?

And if it doesn't work any suggestions?

Can you try a lavender? Dark dusty pink?

GatoradesDream · 08/08/2017 20:34

Ignore radiator, it can't be moved at the minute as it's paint is wet

Warm grey = greige

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 08/08/2017 20:36

I wouldn't do olive, you need some contrast.

LuckySaint · 08/08/2017 20:36

I think it works and I'm now envious of your radiator!

GatoradesDream · 08/08/2017 20:37

I think I'll paint up a few sheets of papers with these suggestions when I get a chance to pick up some sample pots as my doubt makes me think it probably doesn't quite work.... disappointing

True, your second pic looks better.

LittleMissMankyPants · 08/08/2017 20:38

The lack of consensus about whether your Blue is warm or not aside, look at what F&B suggest putting with one of their warm blues. Greige!! It's a nice, calming, peaceful yet sophisticated look IMO.

No I don't think it works, while the colour and the tiles are lovely separately
The blue makes the tiles look browny/greeny
I'd go for an olivey colour too ... But then will that make the tiles look grey/blue and you'll be in the reverse dilemma? Hmm

Dulux Overtly Olive

I think a green would blend in too much and make the whole thing very samey.

LittleMissMankyPants · 08/08/2017 20:45

If you want something with a bit more umph how about a nice rich blue like F&B Stiffkey Blue? (No I don't work for them!).

See in these photos how well it goes with warm greigey colours?

Still calm and sophisticated but also striking.

It looks lovely, keep it!

GatoradesDream · 08/08/2017 20:48

Stiffkey is lovely but my ensuite is going to be that exact shade and I want them to be different. I didn't realise how tricky colour matching is.

Annie Sloan Aubusson Blue?

LittleMissMankyPants · 08/08/2017 20:50

Or a rich teal?

I really do it think it looks lovely. I wouldn't bother changing it unless it was for a strong navy/teal/aubergine/emerald.

GatoradesDream · 08/08/2017 21:00

I think I'll get a tester pot of the teal as well (maybe a little bold for me but I do like it). I'll live with it for a week as it is and see how I feel.

It's lovely. Really restful combination of colours without being dull.

GatoradesDream · 08/08/2017 21:02

And thank you for the help and all the suggestions...I love the thought of decorating and refurbishing but I hate the process

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 08/08/2017 21:06

It's great fun OP.

But one thing, don't think of it as matching, look at colour with an open mind.

Heroicallylost · 08/08/2017 21:08

I adore your tiles, jealous!

Hunkle · 08/08/2017 21:11

Yes.

And I'm very very fussy never wrong.
