Curious, I know it’s nosey.

We are looking at a package deal for just over £2000, all in, all inclusive and for 5 days. 4 years ago we only paid £1300 for something very similar and think we stayed an extra night. Is this the normal kind of price hike that everyone else has been finding when booking too? We don’t have to think about school hols either just yet which I know is very lucky - I was looking for a week in later spring and it was obvious very quickly which one was half term.

@oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends were those prices for eating at your hotel? We stayed near Dubrovnik last year and went into the city centre a few times but I don’t recall thinking that anywhere was particularly expensive (and I would consider over €100 for two people to be an expensive meal)

Just one v.expensive dinner at the hotel when it was tipping it down !
Just a sarnie & wine/beer for lunch was £60-70 - + 10% tip.
Dinner was usually a shared starter, main, no pud, & a bottle of local plonk.
Couldn't believe how much it all cost.

£94, four nights self catering at butlins. The kids love it there.

Same, £98 for Skegness Butlins. Not been before but I suspect our son will love it

Me and 2 DC, Interrailing for 18 days in August. Koln, Berlin, Romania, Bulgaria, Vienna, then back through Germany. About £1700 for travel and accommodation.

JBJ · 08/04/2025 19:06

£550 for a week in a cottage in Yorkshire in June. £38 each for 4 nights in Lincolnshire in October abs Wales in November through the Sun holidays. £250 total for a few rallies and festivals (camping).

Silsatrip · 08/04/2025 19:11

Approx £4k for 2 adults, 1 teen, 1 child.

Mid July

8 nights, 7 of which are Norwegian cruise - all inclusive.

Bucketlist holiday for us, and we had no holiday last year. Always wanted to see Norway.

Family of 4 (plus baby bump!). We are doing to Disneyland Paris next week for 5 days (probably more like 4 after travel etc). Before getting there, we have spent £3000 on flights and hotel with the tickets (which are so expensive and was cheaper to stay in a Disney hotel with tickets than a B&B and buy tickets separately). Have paid for breakfast too. We have budgeted £1200 for spending money and other meals. Very excited for it but due to rain the whole time Sad

Did 3k AI for a week in the Canaries in March (2A + 2C non school age)

5k for 6A + 2C in May for villa in Ibiza, flights and car hire.

10k for Australia in November/December business class.

Who did you do the Ibiza holiday through?

Crikeyalmighty · 08/04/2025 19:27

@oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends lovely place but I too thought Croatia was very expensive - and the food wasn’t that great either - it all felt a bit of a cash in - whereas we were getting away with 28 euros for 2 fantastic toasties with Greek salad and fries plus beer or wine on one of the poshest ‘non package’ Greek islands in mid July

North87 · 08/04/2025 19:28

£2000 for 10 nights in a lodge on the Yorkshire coast in the August school hols.

kirinm · 08/04/2025 19:40

Air BnB in the south of France. Self catering. Flights and air BnB were about £3200 for 2 adults and 1 child. Going in late August.

shonapop · 08/04/2025 20:02

£1600 for 2 All inclusive to Rhodes, start of September. This is actually cheaper than last 2 years at same time in Rhodes, but that's unusual. Our Lanzarote and Gran Canaria holidays are creeping up year on year, £400-500 more.

GreenMarigold · 08/04/2025 20:03

£1,000 for 7 nights in August in a self catering cottage in Yorkshire with an indoor pool.

HelloNeighbour2021 · 08/04/2025 20:07

Sams time last year but booked 5 days before departure we paid £1200 for 10 nights all inclusive for the 4 of us to Turkey!

Albania for 2 weeks, all self booked.
Flights for 2 adults £350
Car hire £300 for 2 weeks
14 nights in various accommodation coming in at about £700
So £1350 for 2 weeks

I really fancy Albania!

TinyLittleLion · 08/04/2025 20:10

£5855 for Tokyo for 19 days in November for for of us - that’s the price for hotel, flights and tickets to Disney.

Thinking about taking 6.5k for spends (not sure yet though)

Hayley1256 · 08/04/2025 20:11

TeenLifeMum · 08/04/2025 20:15

One week in Greece on the mainland by the sea in a 5* AI hotel for 5 “adults” (dc are 13, 13 and 17 so all count as adults). 7k all in.

Deadringer · 08/04/2025 20:22

We are going to prague for a week in July, 3 adults and a teen, flights were about 160 each, hotel in central Prague with breakfast is 1300, that's for 2 rooms. So just about 2k for basically 4 adults.

TizerorFizz · 08/04/2025 20:35

@suburberphobe I think the tree lions have gone.

We are going to Denver then into the Rockies and on to Grand Teton and Yellowstone in late May. Costing a fortune. However we’ve been wanting to do it for a long time. We won’t be talking politics! July it’s Iceland and a cruise to the Westfjords area. Then Nepal and Bhutan in October. We are busy this year!

Who did you do the Ibiza holiday through?

Jet2 Villas. A lot of the same villas are on Solmar Villas with more pictures/floorplans but better deals with Jet2.

Whataninterestinglookingpotato · 08/04/2025 21:25

Crete beginning of September.
£2500 for 4 adults in 2 rooms AI.

PoppyBaxter · 08/04/2025 21:32

2 week driving holiday in the US. We've spent about £5k booking everything, and will allocate £2k spending money for food, drinks, fuel, experiences etc. This is for 2 adults.

Tisfortired · 08/04/2025 21:43

We’re going to Cornwall for a week in July, £700 for the 4 of us in a caravan. We alternate going abroad and doing a UK break each year, last year we went to Majorca all inclusive for 10 nights.

Really looking forward to Cornwall, I just hope we get the weather! I haven’t been since I was a child.
