Curious, I know it’s nosey.

We are looking at a package deal for just over £2000, all in, all inclusive and for 5 days. 4 years ago we only paid £1300 for something very similar and think we stayed an extra night. Is this the normal kind of price hike that everyone else has been finding when booking too? We don’t have to think about school hols either just yet which I know is very lucky - I was looking for a week in later spring and it was obvious very quickly which one was half term.

Just come back from Budapest. 4 nights £330 including all I spent on food, museums, 3 trips to the baths etc. Helped by a 250 Euro refund after a flight delay. So would have been about £540. That’s with a hotel room to myself.

15k, 3 weeks in Tanzania in August, 2 weeksish on safari etc northern and southern serengeti and 10 days Zanzibar. I feel a bit sick at the cost to be honest but we haven't had a holiday together in 4 years and have both suffered significant bereavements over the last year. Not to be repeated though sadly!

@Snail01

I'm sorry for your loss.

But I went (solo) on safari to Tanzania - Serengeti, Ngorogoro, Lake Manyara - lions hanging about in the trees - and Tarangire - Elephant sanctuary. Then had a week in Zanzibar - returned for a week there a few years later because it is so fabulous.

You will love Tanzania, I'm sure. Amazing nature, lovely people, very laid back, no political turmoil.... I love Africa.

Yuja · 08/04/2025 17:55

We have just booked 7 nights in Alcudia, all inclusive, 2 adults and 2 kids for £1600. Last year was the same but in Marmaris and cost £1200.

BeCalmNavyDreamer · 08/04/2025 18:19

£2k Disneyland Paris in Feb

£600 caravan holiday park in summer hols.

oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends · 08/04/2025 18:20

Just returned from Dubrovnik, £1800 for 2 people for 6 days at a very good hotel, including made-to-order breakfast.
Biggest shock was lunch & dinner (nothing fancy) costing c.£200 per day.
I last went there when it was Yugoslavia, & it was a very cheap holiday.

littlepopp · 08/04/2025 18:21

£1300 5 nights in Normandy eurocamp, last week of august. Ferry from Portsmouth. Can’t wait!
2young DC, myself and DH.

iseethembloom · 08/04/2025 18:23

Seven nights in Tunisia at the end of this month - going alone. It’s an Iberostar hotel, if that is a good thing? 5*s (apparently) and very well reviewed on Trip Advisor. Breakfast, dinner and transfer from airport included, for £525. Paid an extra £55 to take an extra bag out and back, and secure a window seat on the way out, so £580 total.

Same holiday is double the cost from mid-June through to November.

TheFairyCaravan · 08/04/2025 18:26

£2300 for 11nights AI in Menorca for me and DH in September. We booked it last year, but if I book now for next year, similar dates, it’s £1900 so it does pay to book early.

We’ve, also, paid £250 for car hire.

Heading to Sweden soon for a week, it costs £3k for business class flights and hotel. Our south of France holiday in summer costs £7k, and our trip to the Asian winter sun costs £5k. None of this includes spending when there, I estimate another £1-2k on top. Thank god for the Amex points I earn, next years hols will be cheaper - I hope!

Well, you don’t need to go business class to Sweden!! And hotels in Sweden are relatively cheap.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 08/04/2025 18:34

@oncemoreuntothebeachdearfriends were those prices for eating at your hotel? We stayed near Dubrovnik last year and went into the city centre a few times but I don’t recall thinking that anywhere was particularly expensive (and I would consider over €100 for two people to be an expensive meal)

Scottishskifun · 08/04/2025 18:41

£1600 for flights, apartment and hire car in Northern Italy for 3 adults 2 children in early July self catering apartment has a pool. Flights and hire car booked in a sale though and got lucky on apartment!

Will probably spend about £800 whilst there on excursions and dinner out each evening. Lunches will be picnic each day.

WhoAreYouTalkingTo · 08/04/2025 18:42

Morocco in January all Inc for a week for two £800, Asia for 2.5 weeks in February flights, hotels and spending money £4.5k. Flights to USA in Summer £900 each!!!

tastethestrongbow · 08/04/2025 18:45

Spain in September. £1400 each including hire car. AI for a week.
More than I’d usually spend but I haven’t been away for a few years.
