I am dreading travelling somewhere and realising I have forgotten something, like my contact lenses!!

@SliceOfCakeCupOfTea Seems like your youngest did indeed mature after that experience. Didn't he end up catching the wrong flight a few years later, but managed to stay in a swanky hotel and befriended a homeless woman in a park in New York? 😂

OP- I generally write out a list of items for a longer haul type holiday, even though many things can be bought locally

  • I forgot to take my packet of contraceptive pills with me once
  • DH forgot his shirt for a wedding in a remote location. He managed to borrow a shirt off the groomsman and made cufflinks from my hair ties and earrings!
  • Take tampons (if used) when going to Thailand or other east asian counties, as they aren't as easily available

I thought you said "only bring used tampons". As in, give them to local people to use a second time!!

Oh dear! 😬
I nearly spat out my wine, but I can see how you could read it like that 😂

We went on holiday to Malta in the 80s and my mum forgot her swimming costumes; left them drying on the line at home. Anyone who has been to Malta in the 80s will know that shopping was very limited and incredibly expensive at the time. Anyway we had to go to the only M&S on the island and she paid about 3 times as much for a costume in there than she would have at home. I still remember the drama all these years later.

Power banks. Loving the sound of the multi function cable, off to Google 🙂

In the middle of a month in SE Asia, we had to catch an early morning bus. Got to destination and realised DH had left his laundry bag containing large percentage of his clothes behind . Trying to buy clothes for a 6ft+!18 stone bloke in Vietnam was an experience

Yep a comb . A simple thing but could not continue my holiday until I got one . I had to get on a bus to the nearest town to get one as we were in the middle of nowhere and no shop .

Newly diagnosed with insulin diabetes i forgot my Blood Sugar Meter. Thankfully managed to buy a new one in a chemist.
When dd was little we left her pushchair at an airport. Holiday company rep was useless, and even worse when ds got a ill a few days later and needed a doctor, thankfully the hotel receptionist was really great and got us a lovely doctor who came out to DS.

Forgot my youngest once 😱

Night before we were due to fly to Paris he was being a right pain so I sent him to bed. Stupidly our alarms didn't work in in the morning and we were woken up by the taxi so everything was a bit of a blur. Managed to bundle everything and everyone out of the house but hadn't realised that no one had woken up DS. Didn't realise until we landed!

And your house was broken into while you were away and your youngest fought them off with his ingenious ideas. 😂
