Seville and Rome.
did not like Barcelona, Prague and Munich

Bubblyb00b · 16/05/2023 21:28

And really dislike Paris, too ))

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 17/05/2023 07:31

Krakow

I’m surprised so many people dislike Barcelona. I’m a scaredy cat but have been many times and found it bustling but not particularly threatening.
Love the old town and parks.
Similarly also loved Amsterdam, thought it quaint and charming. Never felt intimidated.
Maybe I just like ultra touristy places, but they’re popular for a reason. Also love Salzburg and Venice.

Bubblyb00b · 17/05/2023 20:57

I dislike Barcelona because its dusty, hot, huge, relentless and full of annoying rude people. And bad food. I never felt unsafe there though - that would be Paris ))

Bubblyb00b · 17/05/2023 20:59

Did not like Prague because its gone all touristy and commercial; And Munich was just had a boring drab Eastern European vibe.

Paris is though... dirty, nasty, crowded, overpriced, overhyped - yuk.

Bubblyb00b · 17/05/2023 21:01

I also absolutely hated Sitges - not a major city but still quite famous.

CalmConfident · 17/05/2023 21:04

Lived in Vienna for a year in mid 90s - it was magic ☺️

OrangeBananaFish · 17/05/2023 21:08

Cannes
Monaco
London

Not a huge fan of Venice. It was just a bit run down and dirty, but it was many years ago.

Haven't been anywhere else yet, but me and DH have lots of plans when the DCs are old enough to leave at home (youngest is 11 now so we're getting there)

Less keen on Barcelona, Prague, Vienna (to grand and formal)

San Sebastián
Palma
Ortigia
Valladolid
Madrid

Nice - not massively touristy, and although it doesn’t have obvious sites like Paris or Rome is very continental.

Preferred Florence to Venice, although both very crowded. Actually disappointed with Venice.

Going to Christmas markets in Prague in December.

Malaga also nice, fairly laid back.

Lisbon was a bit scary - went with my daughter, lots of unwanted male attention.

AuntieMarys · 06/10/2023 09:35

Krakow. Absolutely loved it, especially away from the main square
