Just wondering what people are booking and at what price? If anyones found any real bargains!

Today I have booked..

10 nights in the Balearic Islands.
hotel is beach front and it includes bed and breakfast at £1,845
flights for 2 adult, 2 children is £855 via easyJet.
Going in July 2 days before schools break up so flights were still a bit high but not as much as a few days later.
so approx 2.7K

I didn’t think it was too bad as a school mum told me they are paying 6k to go to Spain next year! They have 1 extra child though!

Would love to book something really cheap in aug but I doubt that will happen!

4 weeks San Fran to Chicago Route 66 Road Trip. My 50th and DH retirement.

Flights - zero, used BA vouchers from our postponed 2020 holiday, business class treat

Hotels - mixture of historical small hotels, chains, motels and marriott vacation club hotels in cities, no more than £90 a night with breakfast. So about £2500 in total

Car Hire, SUV - £1500, partly paid with BA vouchers again.

Other costs - petrol and food, mainly diners and small chains. We're not fussy.

So first we were going to Greece with my brother and sister-in-law in June then my sister-in-law and I both got pregnant so that had to be cancelled. Then I had another missed miscarriage so decided to just choose and book something to cheer myself up.

Currently the sum total of my random holiday is £2k.

We're going to Palermo for six days at the start of June and then spending an additional two days at the beach in San Vito lo Capo. The price includes spending money, flights for two adults and a toddler, a simple self catering apartment in Palermo and a fancy bed and breakfast in San Vito lo Capo :)

Booked a week skiing in Austria 2 adults 2 children half board £3500. A week in a holiday home in Devon in summer holidays £1900 and 4 nights camping in Cornwall £160.

Lancasterel · 15/01/2023 10:25

Summer road trip to center parcs in Germany! 3 nights there, 5 nights getting there and back - Belgium and Luxembourg on the way down, Austria, Switzerland, France on the way back! Think the kids - 9 and 6 - will be so excited by all the different countries.

8 nights accommodation, eurotunnel, diesel = £2.2K. Spending/food around £1k I estimate.

nc8975 · 15/01/2023 10:33

@Lancasterel that sounds amazing, we love a road trip, I think we are going to steal this idea for next year!

Off to the Middle East to see DH in feb. It's around Valentine's Day so planning to go camping in the desert. Flying business so £3k as I'm only there for six days.

Haven't booked yet but looking for a good price for flights and hotel for 5 nights in Boston with DS. Pretty flexible on dates so will be spring or summer.

Will do a trip with DH at some point. Not sure where but will be flying from the ME

We did this a few years ago. Week at Center Parcs in Belgium, the 3 nights in Brussels, 3 Nights in Cologne and one night in Lille. We stopped in Oxofrd for one night on the way down as live up north. Awesome holiday.

This is good to hear! We booked some parts last night and were wavering a bit but glad to hear you had a great time!
We’ve now added an extra night in Luxembourg too, so we don’t have too many consecutive driving days and can explore the country a bit.
Hoping it’ll be a good balance of driving/touring/sight-seeing, and not being in the car too much 😂

piddocktrumperiness · 17/01/2023 08:56

Which websites are you all using- some of the offers I am reading on here seem too good to be true!

DressingForRevenge · 17/01/2023 09:41

I’m going with TUI @piddocktrumperiness - I think I’ve got a good deal, but I booked in April last year and the same holiday for next summer is nearly £2k more. Just a sign of the times I think. For me it was sheer luck, not strategic brilliance. 🤷‍♀️

TheBirdintheCave · 17/01/2023 10:23

@piddocktrumperiness I do everything by myself and book it all individually. I've always found you get the best deals that way even if it takes a little more work :)

Chittering · 17/01/2023 12:38

@piddocktrumperiness I booked flights as soon as they came out and then spent a lot of time searching for accommodation. I took a chance with the villa and booked direct with the owner at a cheaper price than the booking platforms. (My friend works for a bank and was horrified we did this - but I think i can see enough out there to convince me it is legit...fingers crossed...)

Howabsolutelyfanfuckingtastic · 20/01/2023 23:58

We've booked the canary islands (Lanzarote) in August, it's costing us £5200 for 2 adults and 5 children.
We're going for 14 nights.

Howabsolutelyfanfuckingtastic · 21/01/2023 00:00

Forgot to add that we're going all inclusive this year too and the cost includes hotel, flights, transfers, luggage and cabin luggage.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 21/01/2023 00:45

We’re doing an AI this year in Greece which has cost about £3200 for the three of us.

Sounds a lot but that is all in, on the beach and 5*

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 21/01/2023 00:45

Sorry that’s 7 nights
