Current passport waiting time

Hi just applied for my passport to be renewed and for my sons first passport, I used check and send through the post office. Does anyone know how long they are taking at the moment? Thank you!

I started a thread on this last week.
Applied online for a renewal on 21/02/22. It says on passport website that it's quicker online and currently taking 4 weeks for renewals.

I sent my kids passports off for renewal through check and send on 31st January.

One came back 2 weeks later. The other one I'm waiting on, but I called yesterday and they told me its being printed, so won't be too much longer. So it varies it seems

We applied for DD's first passport online on 29 Jan and it was delivered yesterday, so around a month. We were v prompt with getting the photo validated and sending off her birth cert so I don't think we could have done it much quickler.

I applied (online) for a renewal for my son on 4 Feb, sending his old passport off on the same day, and his new passport arrived today (as did the old one, albeit separately of course).

All 4 (me, dh and 2 dc) of us applied to renew online around the 23rd of Jan. DH's came back less than 2 weeks later, DC1 about 4 weeks, mine about 5 weeks and DC2 not back yet, but I had to send off his full birth cert to prove I had parental responsibility. So, if it's straightforward and you don't have to send any additional documents, I'd say 4 weeks sounds about right.

I did online renewal exactly 3 weeks ago. Posted passport on the Monday with next day first class signed for. It was exactly 1 week & 1 day later I got a text saying they had it. Passport came through 1 week later so total time for us has been 3 weeks. Expecting passport in our hand tomor.

I sent mine on the 18th February recorded delivery so guaranteed to be delivered by the 21st (Monday). I got a text to say they’d received them on the 3rd March. I knew they already had them but took a while to get to the top of the pile.

Started the whole process on 13th February and they let me know on 10th March that they were sending me the passport.

Mine was approved this morning but I need it on 10 Apr Sad it took a week for them to put the online application together with my passport which I send special delivery. Then my photo was rejected. That added 24 hours... fingers firmly crossed!

I got a text today saying they'd received the application and to expect the passport by 23rd May!

Is it really taking that long for renewals? DS is due to go away on 26th may so panicking a bit, I thought I'd left enough time!

Applied for child’s renewal passport on 16th Feb. It took 3 and a half weeks for passport to arrive.

23rd MAY? Do you mean March?

Wondering if everyone who has their passports had their portal updated at each stage? Ours has been sitting at ‘send your old passport’ for 3 weeks despite having confirmation they were signed for. Wondering if the portal has just stalled but application is still in progress?

It’s just taken 12 calendar days from the date the old passport was signed for to the tracker being updated. I think they re currently saying expect it to take 8 working days for updates to be put on the tracker.

Two adult renewals applied for on Monday 21st Feb, my son’s came back on Monday 7th and mine has been approved and is being printed now. I should have it by the end of the week 👍

Mine took exactly one week to confirm receipt, after I know it was received. I think it is wildly variable

I applied for an adult one and a child one on 16th Feb. Mine turned up yesterday, the child on last Friday. So 3-4 weeks. The child one I had to send to Bootle, this was therefore quicker than the Hemel Hempstead one where I sent mine.

That's very odd. When I sent my sons off I got these messages but never got a definite date. May seems mad 😱

We applied online for my daughter's renewal on February 15th. Our countersignatory did her part the same day.

It was approved March 14th and is on its way to us as we speak/type.

So about a month for us which seems commensurate with some of the above.

My dad had his renewed online 16th of Feb and got it back last week. Took 3 weeks.
