Current passport waiting time

Hi just applied for my passport to be renewed and for my sons first passport, I used check and send through the post office. Does anyone know how long they are taking at the moment? Thank you!

That's very odd. When I sent my sons off I got these messages but never got a definite date. May seems mad 😱

Not had any dates either I wonder if it’s different if done manually via post office. I would expect online to be quicker.

The time seems to be them receiving the old passport.
Applied on 1st, they received old passport on 11th , got approved yesterday and now gone for printing

Applied for a child passport renewal online on Sat 26 Feb, and sent the old one off on the Monday. This was confirmed received (matched up) last Thursday and the new passport is on its way. So about 2 1/2 weeks.
Once its been matched up its pretty quick.
Obviously a first passport will take a bit longer, as will a paper application.

I applied for two passports start of Feb and both have been in processing since 25 Feb! Taking forever - not helped by the fact that Royal Mail lost a renewal passport en route so taken over a month to change it to lost and that’s still not even confirmed

@Krabby that will be because it’s 10 weeks after your application - which they are saying to expect I think

I did mine online on March 8th and sent my old passport in on the 9th. I got an email today to say it had been approved so looking good so far.

Dh sentbhis off a month ago. He got it back two weeks ago tomorrow.

Update on mine.

I submitted the application on the 13th February and I had the message to tell me it was being sent to me on the 10th March. It finally arrived this morning so 5 weeks.

I applied for dds renewal on the 8th March. Sent her old passport on the 10th it's still saying send old passport.
We don't go away until the 5th June, but I'm getting a bit 😬😬

My passport application was sent on 7th March via the Post Office paper check and send, text message received saying it should be ready by 25th May.

Post office check is a waste of money, much easier and cheaper on line.

Is this a typo😮 because I applied online on 1st, they had to receive my old passport, but it's on the way back now.

Hi, applied for an adult renewal, child renewal and child first application at the end of Jan. I did all applications online which was surprisingly easy. All 3 passports were back within 4 weeks which was inline with the wait times on the website.

This makes me feel better. I applied on the 11th and posted DD old passport back on the 12th and mine still says that too. I hope yours gets acknowledged soon. Can you come back and let me know? I go away 25th May.

It has been 14 working days since my daughters application is saying 'send documents '.Been calling them and its been a nightmare.So stressed...:(

Just under a fortnight.
Child passport renewal (DD15 so no counter signature necessary)
Online application 8/3 and sent old passport in on same date
Received 11/3
Approved 16/3
New passport delivered 21/3.
Awaiting old passport to be returned.

Adult renewal and child renewal, sent both old passports off weds 16th March to different addresses. Received confirmation today that child old passport received, so under a week. Nothing yet on the adult passport. Travelling mid June so hope I've allowed enough time! If I'd had realised timescales were so long I'd have done this ages ago

Mine was approved this morning but I need it on 10 Apr it took a week for them to put the online application together with my passport which I send special delivery. Then my photo was rejected. That added 24 hours... fingers firmly crossed!

When your photo was rejected did you need to get someone to confirm your identity again?

I applied just under 3 weeks ago online. I had a text yesterday to say they've been sent to the courier.

Sent mine to Peterborough on 11/3 for a renewal. No status update online so I called through yesterday and was told it is currently taking 11 working days to update system to confirm receipt. I sent my document via tracking, so I know it has been received.

Goods to know Amani. I posted my daughter's on 12th March and royal mail says was delivered on 15th March but nothing on the passport tracker yet.

I just had a text from passport office to say old passport received. That's 10 days after it was delivered there and 13 days after it was posted.

I sent my dd birth certificate 12 working days ago and no update. Panicking. I don’t know when it was received though
