@DBML
@puzzledandoissedoff

And anyone else 😊

Wondered if you’d like to continue the Florida discussion?

I’ve not cancelled August yet, I know it’s only a slim chance of going.

Btw I made some pooh bear toast, it was pretty similar and easy to do.

Oooh! Fantasy idea @Pomegranatepompom

Same regarding cancelling. I’m staying hopeful until I really can’t anymore...but even then I’ll just rebook. So, we’ll just have longer to look forward to our holidays!

Pooh bear toast?? What’s that? Sounds good!

We made Giordano’s style pizza pie the other day. It’s so good...!

And I’m not sure if you’re heard of it, but we also have found a recipe for breakfast lasagne (from the Crystal Palace), which I am looking forward to trying! Looks like a lot of work though.

You’ll have to share your recipe for Pooh Bear toast!!!

ABagOfPopcorn · 10/05/2020 16:44

Joining this thread I hope you don't mind. We have a Disney world Florida holiday booked for October but at a complete loss as to what to do next.

Our flights are from Gatwick with Virgin who also just announced they are no longer flying from Gatwick anymore.

Are you just waiting until it gets closer to the time?

DBML · 10/05/2020 16:48

Hi @ABagOfPopcorn

You’re more than welcome to join! We’re a bunch of Disney fanatics and obviously Pomegranate is the biggest Disney nut for setting up the thread!! 😂

Yes, we’re just waiting to see. Living in hope, but with realistic back up plans.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the Gatwick issue at the moment. They could just transfer those flights from Gatwick to Heathrow, as they’ll be plenty of room to do this.

Have you been before? What are you looking forward to most?

Hopefullysmart · 10/05/2020 16:55

Can I join in? We're 60 days out, and I booked my FPs today!! Just for the lols obviously, because tomorrow my deposit is due so I'll be calling to cancel 😫😭

Already have £Ks tied up in flights that I'm hoping we get back, so don't want to chuck anymore money towards a holiday I know I won't go on.

Got all the rides I was after too....😔

ABagOfPopcorn · 10/05/2020 16:57

You're much more positive than me then @DBML Grin

I have no idea whether we will go. We may move the booking.

I was totally looking forward to it but I've lost hope and I can't really see it happening anymore, I've never been before!

We've only paid the deposit at this stage so I'm happy to lose that if needs be.

DBML · 10/05/2020 16:59

@Hopefullysmart

I’m sorry. It’s awful isn’t it. Will they delay payment date at all, so you have a bit more time to see how this pans out?

Pomegranatepompom · 10/05/2020 17:00

Welcome @ABagOfPopcorn is definitely wait and see for October.

I enjoyed our posts so much on the other thread, thought it would be lovely to continue and we all need some positivity?

We go every year, absolutely love our holidays there. We do other holidays as well, enjoy Italy and Cornwall as well. People can be a bit snobby re Florida, not sure why... we do Disney as our DC are small but also been to Miami/the keys etc we were planning to get universal tickets and stay @ Portofino for the 1st time too.

We’re due to go with BA from Gatwick, I think I’m just going to sit tight at the mo, debating moving October or Easter next year.

@DBML it’s the cinnamon french toast @ Crystal Palace. So easy to do with brioche.
I did decide I’d start my diet again tomorrow - just in case we can go.
I’ve not tried those pizzas but heard they are very good.

Pomegranatepompom · 10/05/2020 17:03

Welcome @Hopefullysmart
Who have you booked with? It’s all so miserable, at worst it will just be a few months delay hopefully.

DBML · 10/05/2020 17:03

@ABagOfPopcorn

Well, on the positive side you can rebook and have longer to get excited for your holiday!

It’s such an amazing holiday. We went on our ‘once in a lifetime’ trip as a family in 2008 (though I’d also been as a child). We’ve been about 20 times since...its addictive!

You’ll have such a magical time when you get there. If you want any advice about booking meals (ADRs) or what snacks to look out for; or what to do as a relaxing alternative to the parks, then ask away!
Also, if you haven’t checked out ‘the Dibb’ then google search that too!

DBML · 10/05/2020 17:06

@Pomegranatepompom

I know the toast! Yum!!

We stayed at Portofino Bay last summer! Only one night as it was so expensive and only for the express tickets, but it was such a fabulous hotel! You’ll love it!

Ooh, can I join this thread. We’re booked for August staying at Coronado Springs. We’re debating phoning Disney to change to next year. For our disney fix today, we made Tonga toast for brunch.

Pomegranatepompom · 10/05/2020 17:20

We were thinking of 2or 3 nights, I never add up the total cost of holidays 😂

OP posts:
Hopefullysmart · 10/05/2020 17:21

Hi thanks - flights are with Tui - paid in full in cash 😫😫😫 Everything else direct with Disney - 2 weeks at AKL Savannah view room - was going to be amazing.

I think as we would lose Disney deposit at this stage we would be as well changing date and paying admin fee, but tbh I'm not even sure when would be a good time to rebook. Oh and we had free dining and no clue if that will come available again for next year.

Would love the breakfast lasagne recipe! We had Crystal Palace booked 😬

Pomegranatepompom · 10/05/2020 17:22

Welcome @Pinksaffire very interested in your Tonga toast !

OP posts:

We were supposed to be flying out in 2 weeks time, booked a year ago. We've had everything cancelled and in the process of sorting refunds. I'm gutted. I don't know when we'll rebook it for either so nothing to look forward to.
The only saving grace is that we hadn't told dc's before lockdown as we were planning to surprise them nearer the time, so we haven't had to break the bad news to them
