@DBML
@puzzledandoissedoff

And anyone else 😊

Wondered if you’d like to continue the Florida discussion?

I’ve not cancelled August yet, I know it’s only a slim chance of going.

Btw I made some pooh bear toast, it was pretty similar and easy to do.

We had planned to stay at the Beach club as well. The dining plan softened the price....

I looked on us disney site tonight and im amazed at how much choice there is for accommadation compared to the uk site

justforthecake · 10/06/2020 09:32

I think they will do dining plans next year they are just being extra cautious.

notheragain4 · 10/06/2020 11:03

The lack of Disney dining and visibility of perks: fast passes, extra magic hours etc, is the reason we aren't rebooking 2021. I'd really like to stay on site and get all their perks but it just isn't worth the cost of staying onsite if we aren't getting them. So hoping by 2021 some normality to bookings will have returned to enable us to book for 2022, otherwise we will probably look at a villa instead.

discombobulated2020 · 10/06/2020 19:03

Just had an Email. Norwegian Airlines have cancelled flights to Orlando up to the 31st July.

BaconAndAvocado · 10/06/2020 19:33

justforthecake I hope you're right.

Thought this might be the thread to ask advice on our Florida trip, from other Florida lovers. Can I ask wwyd in our situation.

Have trip booked to universal going out 10 September staying in Hard Rock universal, plus a further week on the coast.. Due to pay the balance now.

What is the likelihood of getting out there in September? Does anyone have a crystal ball Grin

Our dilemma is that it’s costing us a small fortune as treating our young adult dc, all of us so excited, and postponing will be difficult as there are quite a few of of us all with different work/uni schedules, commitments etc to work around. Might not be possible to get us all there other than this time.

Would you pay the balance now, have everything crossed to actually go and if cancelled should get money back? (I think we would get money back) Or would you assume Florida holidays won’t be going ahead in September and reschedule for next year, with whoever of our group is still able to come.

Gutted our dream holiday is up in the air like so many of you.

BaconAndAvocado · 11/06/2020 14:42

Ah that's really rubbish ThickandThin for you!

We had a mid August holiday booked and chose to cancel as the experience in the parks (if we can get there in the first place) will be nothing like the real thing.

We will hopefully book for next year.

BaconAndAvocado · 11/06/2020 14:44

An update on Dining Plans.
There are available to BUY ( so no free dining 😔) from the UK Disney Holidays website.

That isn't to say that Free Dining won't be offered nearer the time.

notheragain4 · 11/06/2020 14:47

@BaconAndAvocado thank you, it's good to know they're available. We were thinking we might consider a value hotel and pay for the QSDP if free dining isn't available.

Howcanwehelp · 11/06/2020 15:05

Can i join? We did WDW in 2018, and were thinking of going again next year to see pixar rides and star wars land (it's what I call it, I know it's galaxy edge) but putting it off again for a year or so until things are back to normal. Keep looking at DLP as a stopgap but too worried to actually book anything. I miss disney.

BaconAndAvocado · 11/06/2020 16:02

notthereagain yes I thought about that too but think we would miss waiter service meals.

howcanwehelp I miss Disney too.........

Pomegranatepompom · 11/06/2020 21:41

@throughthinkandthin01 BA are now offering vouchers up to 31st August. Attractions tickets direct are also offering free cancellations (I think), I'm feeling less positive now, I don't think they'd make it so easy to cancel if there was a chance we could go?? Having said that - Universal are ahead of Disney with opening.

@Howcanwehelp DLP is so expensive, I'd wait for WDW in 2021/22

If no doing plans we are much more likely to stay off site or in in moderate hotel

Just been emailed from ATD, 35% room discount for booking this year to compensate for dining plan being cancelled. However much I'd like to go, I think August is looking less feasible.

LollipopViolet · 13/06/2020 08:59

Can I join you please?
I went a bit crazy during lock down and stuck a £50 deposit on a Disney trip!
1st to 15th November 2021 staying at Art of Animation in a Little Mermaid room.
I'm single, childless and still at home at 30 due to caring responsibilities so I just want the chance to be a big kid. Last time I was at Disney I was 18 months old, so this is the first trip I'll remember :)

notheragain4 · 13/06/2020 10:20

@LollipopViolet how exciting Smileyou will have a magical time!

Abi128 · 14/06/2020 23:49

There were some comments from the US today about it being unlikely in the next few months that they will let Brits in.

LyndaLaHughes · 15/06/2020 00:41

I've amended my August Disney trip to a split Disney and Universal trip next August instead.

Ringonrighthand · 18/06/2020 03:02

Hi all, can I join please and ask for advice? We were due to go to Florida in March, flying the day we went into lockdown so obvs didn't happen. Travel consultant advised us to rebook not cancel so we did for September (9 nights coronado springs, 5 nights endless summer at universal with upgraded Disney dining plan) but it's looking less likely now plus the holiday is nothing like we imagined (or dreamed about and planned for). We got "th

Ringonrighthand · 18/06/2020 03:08

Sorry posted too soon!

We got "the call" yesterday with our options which are a. Stick with booking, dining plan refunded and 35% room credit. B. Rebook for next year. C. Credit note with travel agent to be used by December 2022.

None of these options appeal, we would rather d. Get a full refund or even refund less deposit but this isn't being offered. My head is churning with it all, feel so deflated and gutted but also financially it feels off as I would never have paid so far in advance for a holiday I'm not going on for over a year or that's not even booked. Tempted to hold out for September in the hope the travel ban doesn't lift and then they have no choice but to cancel us. Its all just so stressful and taken away the magic completely!

BaconAndAvocado · 18/06/2020 21:05

Ring I completely get where you're coming from!

Yesterday would have been the day I booked our Fastpasses!

We are probably going to rebook for 2021 but it will be a lot more expensive without the dining plan.....

innitsmashing · 22/06/2020 11:58

I'm so disappointed with Virgin. We're due to go October half term, it was a once and once only trip but the restrictions and removal of a lot of the magic makes it a worthless trip. We cannot go next year due to other commitments, and after that my daughter will be charged an adult price making it unaffordable. Virgin are saying the changes do not constitute to a significant change, so it's either move to next year or lose our £800 deposit.

As I say, we can't do Disney next year so we even looked at the other destinations but the prices for those are just extortionate and simply won't compare to the Disney magic for the kids. Luckily, we didn't tell them. We just want the deposit back so we can put it towards something else, but for us our Disney dream is over Sad

EmotionalFlood · 22/06/2020 16:00

We're still not sure what to do with our booking, going this September with the 35% discount isn't really an option due to health concerns.

So do we postpone to next year, September 2021 (even though there may be no 21 day tickets or possibility of paying for the DDP) or take the full refund 🤷🏼‍♀️

Right now I'm swaying to the full refund? And once the world is back to normal try Disney in another part of the world??

BaconAndAvocado · 24/06/2020 18:57

So difficult to make decisions when everything is uncertain.

That said, I do think things will be back to the normal of the Before Times by August next year when a lot of Brits usually go to Florida.

Have booked villa today......keeping fingers crossed for some sort of offer from Disney to justify some onsite time.

Pomegranatepompom · 04/07/2020 15:37

Our flights have been cancelled for August and BA have refunded us. I give February will be ok.
