@DBML
@puzzledandoissedoff

And anyone else 😊

Wondered if you’d like to continue the Florida discussion?

I’ve not cancelled August yet, I know it’s only a slim chance of going.

Btw I made some pooh bear toast, it was pretty similar and easy to do.

I’m booked to go Oct and really don’t know what to do. If I change now the price has gone up massively for next year but don’t want to go and it be ruined due to social distancing measures and wearing masks. I have to pay in July and I’m hoping by then we will have a better idea of what October will be looking like!

hayfeverhellish · 30/05/2020 15:52

We were due to go over spring this year and it was cancelled so we pushed to November this year but with all the news about how the parks will be, booking to get in, social distancing, masks, limited hours etc - we will be cancelling and looking to go again in 2022. I think a lot of measures will be in place next year and I'm also aware WDW might be bringing in new things like paid for fast passes etc. I want to see what happens before committing to anything!

I'm so sad though. We've been planning this holiday for nearly 2 years. Waiting another 2 is devastating.

NotPennysBoat · 30/05/2020 15:58

Sorry to jump on the bandwagon, we were hoping to book for May 2021 and had just be waiting to see if free dining would be released.
Do we think the restrictions announced will still be in place by then??

Pomegranatepompom · 30/05/2020 16:06

It’s really hard to know about restrictions (anything really), there were cheap flights with BA- so we could view as a winter break if parks impossible to do. On balance, I think it’s likely a lot of park activities will be fine - maybe reduced capacity in shows, perhaps no parades or character meets????

What’s the news re paid for FP??

OP posts:
EmotionalFlood · 30/05/2020 23:55

@Pomegranatepompom in total we'll lose around £500, which could be worse... we can't risk going though as DP has underlying health conditions! Sorry to hear about your colleague, it's such an awful time at the moment 😩 I want the world to go back to normal!

macaroniandpizza · 31/05/2020 13:57

Ive just booked flights for 3wks for jan 2021 for ds and i. Only £30 more than may 2020 flights were. Thinking 16wks at avanti an overnight at a universal hotel for express passes then rest of time at disney hotel

whichteaareyou · 31/05/2020 14:03

Jumping on as we've got a trip planned early August! Flying with Norwegian air, booked the Disney tickets etc. Hoping that they cancel so we get a full refund but such a worry!!! Don't know what to do!!!

justforthecake · 31/05/2020 16:56

Disney won't do paid for fastpasses.

They use fastpasses to control guest flow in the park. The places that do paid fast passes are much smaller parks that just don't work in the same way as Disney.

TellerTuesday4EVA · 01/06/2020 18:17

I'm in such a muddle, really don't know what to do so would appreciate any advice.

We're booked for last week October through first week November. Thinking of changing my booking to May 2021.

I've had an email today from Attraction Tickets Direct advising to book park days once the Disney booking system goes live in the next two weeks. Our park tickets are valid through until September 2021 so would be no issues with those but we did buy Disney halloween party tickets which hopefully I could get a refund on.

I'm booked with virgin to make this whole matter worse because I'm expecting them to go bust anytime really.... also people have been told they'll be waiting up to 6 months to receive their refund.

If I cancel the holiday before end of July I will loose the deposit but the May holiday (with Tui) is £1400 cheaper anyway as would be going term time.

I just don't know what to do, if we wait it out and October goes ahead I'm worried that it's too soon with too many restrictions in place, also if there was the 14 quarantine etc we couldn't do that for work etc.

I can pay a £125 pp deposit on the Tui holiday but then I worried that if I cancel the Virgin holiday they end up going bust & I would of got my full amount back deposit included.

What would anyone else do? I honestly wish I'd never booked it in the first place because it's taking up so much headspace

justforthecake · 01/06/2020 18:28

End of Aug booking here
We know we aren't going - it isn't the experience we paid for. We will be refunded our fishing on the lagoon money Disney have confirmed this.

Our quandary is this;
We can cancel or move before the deadline date.
Do we cancel and wait until 2022 to rebook loosing £200 and possible the universal ticket money(bought direct from attraction tickets)
Do we move it to 2021 when we can even if this means loosing the dining plan
Do we wait until Disney offer us a deal for loosing out on the dinning plan and rebook for October next year with the room discount but no dining, photo or gift card?

Or do we spend the money on a different holiday altogether?

We go round and round in circles.

We booked with a good company that I'm not worried about loosing out with.
We were flying with BA from Gatwick so should get a refund.

Pomegranatepompom · 01/06/2020 19:25

@justforthecake that pretty much sums up where we are. I’ll post later as just about to get the train.

Hi all, just popping in as a way of getting Florida updates. We were booked for our first family trip in May; Coronado springs 11 nights, hard rock hotel 4 nights. Thankfully got nearly all our money back (just waiting on universal ticket refund from Kenwood)

No idea what to do at this point. Would like to try next year, but want to stay on site with Disney benefits, so can't do anything with their recent announcement and don't want to go with social distancing and masks etc, would like free dining too! So keeping an eye out...

justforthecake · 01/06/2020 21:16

Got our first email from Disney today about our first cancelled table service booking. :(

macaroniandpizza · 01/06/2020 23:03

Ive went ahead and booked 21 nights at homewood suites through booking.com which is pay at property on arrival so gives me breathing room. Have booked DC with seaworld aquatica and busch gardens. Will get universal tickets and see if i can upgrade them to last us the 3wks. I genuinely dont know what to do about disney... will things be more "normal" by then? Disney tickets are a massive chunk of the holiday cost and id rather not pay £££ for an experience thats not fully there. Having to reserve a place in the parks even on top of a paid ticket and not getting in if no reservation is a bit shit imo

underneaththeash · 03/06/2020 17:48

@justforthecake - so have I. I've just gone on to mydisney experience and none of my reservations including hotel are showing up. Is yours?
I've tried calling and they're not accepting calls.

underneaththeash · 03/06/2020 17:49

We're October half term, after a re-scheduled cruise (which will be interesting)........

Pootle40 · 04/06/2020 18:51

Had an email from virgin holidays today saying our Disney holiday was going ahead (October) asking us to confirm by Monday if we want to go or free reschedule until Dec 2021. We're rescheduling as don't want the experience Disney are currently suggesting

notheragain4 · 04/06/2020 19:00

We've made the decision to not rebook for 2021, we had a European holiday booked for August 2021 already so going to keep that. This is our first Florida break as a family and I just don't want to risk it being half an experience, and the build up to it is half the fun, so going to book next year for 2022 and hope things are better then, hopefully with the return of Disney dining!

BaconAndAvocado · 09/06/2020 16:56

We decided to cancel our August 2020 Floriday with a view to rebooking for 2021 but now that there won't be the Dining Plan we're not sure......

We'd already rebooked due to Thomas Cook going under, think this holiday may be jinxed!

notheragain my head agrees with you re 2022, my heart wants to go next year!

Pomegranatepompom · 09/06/2020 17:09

@BaconandAvocado

No dining plan for next year???

OP posts:
justforthecake · 09/06/2020 17:14

We're going to rebook for 2021 although without the dinning plan we will be looking at a Disney villa so we can cook.
Dd has a double allergy and Disney really is the safest place for her to eat, if we don't have the dining plan we will cook. It's going to bump our costs but we will be missing a holiday so will have some money to play with IYKWIM.
I love the dinning plan because I love the snacks and my dh is more tight with money if we are paying at the till. Plus it isn't really a holiday if you have to cook etc. Finest is full on enough without thinking about cooking.
So so upset still.

I want a caramel mickey apple, churros, Peter Pan float, mickey elephant cinnamon roll from AK!

Pomegranatepompom · 09/06/2020 17:49

@justforthecake Good to make a decision. Is there no chance of free dining next year?

We haven't moved our holiday yet - hoping to get the email update this week from attraction tickets direct. We'll probably lose £650 in deposits, I will try not forget about this....

I'd like chilli cheese fries of the hot fudge sundae (no whipped cream) from the plaza.

discombobulated2020 · 09/06/2020 18:03

Can I join too? Was due to go end of July with Norwegian Air.

Like others, long-awaited trip.

No idea about flights yet as I believe airline have just been bailed out. Hoping they cancel so we have a refund and prob think about going in 2022.

BaconAndAvocado · 09/06/2020 20:42

pomegranate yes, according to the Disney experts on the Dibb, there are no Dining Plans for this or next year 😟

We had planned to stay at the Beach Club which, for 5 nights would be £2325 WITHOUT any food. I also calculated how much eating out at Disney restaurants would cost ( by this year's prices) and it came to a whopping £2000 !
