PMSL

I'm so fed up of this holiday lark - think we should just buy somewhere and be done with it!

Either South of France (not right on the coast, but somewhere up in the mountains) or Cape Town

soapbox · 12/10/2005 22:31

Would need to be SW France - DH likes wild windswept beaches with as few people around as possible!!!

Capetown possibly a bit too far- would like to have somewhere we could pop to for just a few days.

soapbox · 12/10/2005 22:33

La Manga, a possibility - is there a decent beach - preferably wind swept

Suffolk is lovely, dh's godparents have a lovely old house there. Wind swept beaches lovely little villages, bird sactuary. Is that more your kind of thing?

soapbox · 12/10/2005 22:33

Do you want to timeshare

ediemaybeabat · 12/10/2005 22:34

Pembrokeshire, SW Italy or Thailand

WickedWitchOfTheWestCountryLas · 12/10/2005 22:35

Either Dorset (Lulworth), France (Loire Valley) or Sri Lanka. Couldn't be more varied!

soapbox · 12/10/2005 22:35

Suffolk a nice idea - could weekend there too!

Would probably slightly prefer somewhere hot though!

soapbox · 12/10/2005 22:40

OP posts:
Blondeinlondon · 12/10/2005 22:43

Southern Sweden

chicagomum · 12/10/2005 22:43

the area of suffolk is around aldebrugh (?sp) there are nice beaches, retaraunts can drive there quite in under 2 hours for the weekend from London. In the summer it has been very hot there on occassions, (but unpredictable like the weather anywhere in uk). TBH with cheap flights nowadays france is just as plausible for the weekend too.

RTKMonherBROOMSTICK · 12/10/2005 22:44

looks good

If it is near zig zag road would get full survey cos of subsidence

puff · 12/10/2005 22:47

Cornwall (Penwith area) or Scilly Isles

South of France

QueenVictoria · 12/10/2005 23:00

La Manga has PRIVATE beach cove with its own fantastic fish restaurant over looking.

Its an absolute must. Check this out......lamangaclub

soapbox · 12/10/2005 23:06

RTKM - its right down on the waterfron - about 10 yards from the beach. So not on Zig Zag road. When we put the offer in it was on the market at £399k adn we offered £350k which they refused, quite rudely!

Not minded to go back now - although maybe should to rub it in!!!!

QV - will look at La Manga and see if the soapy purse strings can stretch that far
