Earl Grey with Sheila and Brian

A wee dram with Hamish and Morag

Mint tea with Mohammed and......Mustafa

Tapas and fino with Miguel and Margarita

It's all the same.

Enid · 13/10/2005 14:18

it is true that the locals resent them on the whole, unfortunately

OrribleOliveoil · 13/10/2005 14:19

Can we bring this thread back round to what it is about? Ta.

I would like a place in Cornwall please.

moondog · 13/10/2005 14:19

I've never had PMT in my life.
Tourists,yes!!
Second home owners...booo hisssssssss

Enid · 13/10/2005 14:20

OrribleOliveoil · 13/10/2005 14:21

I quite liked The Wicker Man so bring on the badgers.

soapbox · 13/10/2005 14:21

I'm still not sure why anyone else's like or otherwise of me would influence where I holiday????

Afterall its not often that you go on holiday and become best buddies with the waiters is it???

In fact I'm actually very anti-social on holiday so would probably say no if Hamish offered me a malt!!!!

Normandy.
Nice and close and not too foreign.

Enid · 13/10/2005 14:21

yeah but you have to stay in with the locals or the plumber will never come out and see you

hhhhenleyonthames · 13/10/2005 14:22

I don't want to fit in with the locals down Beauchamp Place. I vant to svan around - I vant to shop, theatre, cinema, go to Waitrose on the King's Road, eat at the Gay Hussar. I don't give a flying um, fig, about my neighbours.

I get all the Pastis a girl could drink already, right here

Oh and the Gap, I want the Gap, I want a choice of the Gaps......

QueenVictoria · 13/10/2005 14:25

Is it because of 2nd homers pricing existing residents out of the market moondog/enid? or jealousy/dont like strangers round here type thing?

moondog · 13/10/2005 14:31

I marvel as I said at the insensitivity of people somewhere where they are not wanted or welcome.
(Short holidays don't count-as you say soapbox, noone is going to get in with the dishwasher and his tribe on a long w/end in Barcelona)

Jealous? Me?
Good God no,I could pick and choose my second homes if I wanted one.I've got wads of dosh.

I do make sure I as unpleasant as possible to any second home owners round here in the hope that they'll all p**ss off back to where they came from however.

And on that note,I'm off to school to pick up dd.

soapbox · 13/10/2005 14:34

Moondog - I suspect it would be the same if it was a full time resident though!!
