University Offers for 2022 Start

I've heard universities are being more cautious this year, with some stating that they are not going to make most offers until the January deadline, when they can see a clearer picture - because of the over-subscription that happened for last year's students.

I thought it might be interesting to see which universities are making offers for which subjects.

We've only heard from York so far, for Computer Science. York University do seem to be making early offers.

Anyone else heard from any universities? Think it would be good to know what is happening out there :)

Oh I thought offer holder days were for those who have received an offer and want to view the uni?

Lots of unis put candidates on hold or wait for all applications to come in and don’t start offering until Feb or March so @boxcar don’t worry. I know it’s hard for them. With first child he was rejected from 3 unis and offered for two in December then suddenly one of the places that rejected came back phoning him at college one day in feb and asking for an interview. He did the interview online that night and then was offered ?! My DD is waiting on Durham since early November. Not expecting anything either way until late Feb. We are booked for York and Sheffield uni offer days but it’s 29th jan and 12th Feb so not sure it will happen as some unis already back online.

@NCTDN that’s what offer days are for - looking round in a lot more depth often experiencing mini lectures and an opportunity for the uni to sell itself to you as they need you to choose them as 1st or 2nd. Often a nice buffet for the parents snd children.

Fruitygal : that's some glimmer of hope. DS applied for Economics in October. He's had his exam and interviews with Cambridge but no news since from them or any of the other universities. He tells me he checks every day. I'm planning on sitting tight until the end of the week, to allow for Christmas holiday time. But will insist on looking at his UCAS account tomorrow in case there are links he hasn't noticed.

Any UCL economics offers?

Have many people heard about offer holder days? So far dd has only heard from Bristol.

Dd only from Nottingham. We are really hoping Bath will give her a date soon so she can firm her place. 99% sure it will be Bath firm & Nottingham insurance if she's rejected from Cambridge on the 25th.

He is aware I assume that he will not hear from Cambridge until 25 January?

Hi, my dd has applied for Psychology and has four offers (waiting on Bath). She has offer holder days booked at Southampton, York and Nottingham. Manchester only seem to be doing online days.

My daughter received 4 offers in the week before Christmas-Lincoln, Gloucester, Edge Hill, Solent and this week Plymouth Marjon. She is so chuffed! Solent will be her firm and Gloucester her insurance.

Does anyone know when Bath will offer? It's my DD 4th choice but the only one she's waiting for.

@Linneasweet My DD had an offer from Bath in November but I have read that the vast majority of their offers do not happen until after the January deadline. DD was pleased as its her first choice (after Cambridge).

@whatsnext2 fab. Swansea and Reading offered the next day and York took two weeks (this was back at the end of Nov).

Mine finally pressed submit just before
Christmas and has one offer for English & Drama and nothing yet from the others except random things like christmas cards and feedback surveys!

DD only applied for 4 - York, Lancaster (favourite), Sheffield & Man Met - Man Met being her insurance probably.

English Language & Linguistics

She hasn't accepted yet, but has booked on offer holder days at Lancaster & York. Sheffield and Man Met have not sent out any information on offer holder days - she really needs to have a look round Man Met as it was the one she put on as she was sure she would meet course requirements.

Should have added - she has places confirmed at all of them Lancaster York Sheffield AAB (dropping to ABB if firmed) and Man Met BCC.

DD (Biology) has offers from Nottingham, York, Loughborough, Sheffield & Sheffield Hallam. She now has to decide which she prefers the most. Insurance was going to be Sheffield Hallam but York has offered her a good contexual offer so it will be that. She is definitely leaning towards Nottingham (was always preferred) but hasn't seen Loughborough or Sheffield.

Has anyone heard about nursing? DD has 2 interviews so far but got her application in quite late!

DS has now booked biology offer holder days at Nottingham, Sheffield and York. So far all are planned to be in person.

Offers in for DS from Newcastle and Heriot Watt so far. Waiting to hear from Cambridge, Edinburgh and Durham.
