Plus I suppose parents with DC in private education are still paying fee's..

FabTab · 20/03/2020 16:22

Really glad an opportunity to sit the exam is being offered if DCs are not happy with the grade they’ve been given.

LIZS · 20/03/2020 17:33

Dd has submitted her firm on UCAS today. Fortunately unconditional as on a post A level gap year, although her plans and job are now up in the air. Not envious of those with exams affected by the disruption and just hope the situation resolves itself before the Autumn,

KingscoteStaff · 20/03/2020 19:42

DS has had a ‘Don’t Worry It’s All Going To Be Fine email from Durham.

honkytonkheroe · 20/03/2020 19:57

DD has also has had the same from Birmingham and Southampton.

MillicentMartha · 20/03/2020 20:22

Opportunity to appeal results and to sit the A level in September/Oct (whenever schools go back) if unhappy with grades awarded. There will be winners and losers as with everything in life but this seems as fair as it could be.

Just wonder weather Unis will remove the insurance option this year in order for them to fulfil the places on courses they may have over offered on...

honkytonkheroe · 20/03/2020 21:06

Did I see prior education would be looked at? I thought I saw something's that indicated GCSE achievement would be looked at and included into a formula.

MillicentMartha · 20/03/2020 21:56

Yes, prior attainment as confirmed by exam boards so GCSEs and maybe AS levels if taken.

We’re going to need a new thread. It’ll take us up to and beyond the end of July grade awards, I expect. How about Uni 2020 :3: The wait for grades and better days ahead?

My son is still starting in sept albeit three first semester will be online.
He is going to our local uni tho so won't be flying the nest.
I'd be happy to help if I can but not sure I'll qualify with him staying home
