Why do some people hate gifted kids?

I really don't understand it. Even on here I've seen so much dislike of children who are born naturally smart. I doubt anyone will own up to it but I thought I would try

Nobody hates gifted kids, it's the way their parents think they're more special than other children that is beyond irritating.

Nothing to do with the parents. Everyone is happy and proud of their childs achievements but it's just the gifted kids who receive the hate

Nothing to do with kids. Everything to do with parents who brag about their children. I am genuinely in awe of truly talented and gifted children. I'm not as bothered about pushy parents who brag about their children who actually aren't gifted or talented at all.

Its the parents. DC has a friend who has been on child genius. Clever child but clearly pushed into things like that by the parents.

I dislike the term "gifted" as it implies innately special and superior. But I don't dislike very bright children at all.
