Morning

Have just got rid of my guests... I can relax now!

Alice - wow what a worry for you yesterday. Are you ok today? Maybe do a little bit of a tidy then rest eh?

Sorry for all the illing children

Yank, good plan that with the dealership. Don't forget to dye your hair. FWIW - I have loads of grey which is showing through dreadfully at the moment. I am at the hairdressers on the 5th June to have my roots done. So on Sunday, BoF will see my grey!!

Have just had some porridge and there is half a red grapefuit left, so may have that in a bit. A Mitts style chopped salad for lunch and a salad for tea. The menfolk are having toad in the hole

Morning Bella

Alice, put you feet up today, you deserve a little TLC.

Saf, I know what you mean.I am pretty sure that our family is complete, but can't bear to say that for definite as I hate the idea of never being pregnant again

Not that we could really afford another baby anyway.

NormaSknockers · 17/05/2010 09:09

Thanks girls Feeling the affects of it today though, I have aches in places I;d rather not think about!

Oh Alice that must have been a bit scary, fingers crossed it was just baby having shift around good on for the big bar of Galaxy How are you feeling today? I agree with Bella, just have a little tidy if you feel you must but make sure you rest up.

Bella toad in the hole delish, especially if it's made by your fair hands I bet it's extra delish!

Norma, maybe a hot bath is in order tonight for your aches?

Bitter - do you do the home shopping? I used to do that for ASDA five years ago 3 evenings a week 7 till midnight - I loved that job. Then somebody thought it would be a good idea to make everyone work the same shift 5am till 10am and I couldn't cope getting up at 4 in the morning.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/05/2010 09:18

Good morning.

Alice how rotten. I never got BH, but I can imagine how worrying they can get! Good that you're more comfy now though, eh?

Have had shreddies, plus my oj + spatone, and coffee. To be followed shortly by ibuprofen and strepsil.

NormaSknockers · 17/05/2010 09:23

I think you're right Bella! DH is on lates so I will get the DC into bed & have a nice hot bath with a good book

Actually Bella I have a (very dumb) baking question for you. I have bought some sweetner that I thought I could use in baking instead of caster sugar to help keep the points down. Now in weight it is incredibly light so if the recipe has 6oz of caster sugar do I use 6oz of sweetner (as that would be an awful lot) or would I say halve that? Sorry I know I sound incredibly dumb right now!

Fanny don't be sorry, you ok this morning?

YanknCock · 17/05/2010 09:27

Arrrrrgggggghhhhhhh

DS slept through (yay!) but woke up very very wheezy (boo!) so after lots of umming and errring decided I will stay home and take him to GP (for millionth time) and also try to go get my ear syringed.

Just called and got appt, but they said they won't syringe today, will just be looking at it and drops have to be going in for a week!

DH says I should just be grateful I will eventually hear again, should spare a thought for those who can't hear permanently. (But get Mr Pessimistic looking on the bright side for once, obviously I am rubbing off on him a bit!)

Alice, how scary! Glad all seems to be well now though.

Norma, am not surprised you are feeling it, feet up day for you too.

Bitter, I am the opposite, I HATE the thought of being pregnant again (but still want more squishy babies). Not sure how that's going to work

YanknCock · 17/05/2010 09:31

ooh, and I've lost .8 of a pound. Not sure how, barely been tracking and eaten lots of crap recently. Maybe worrying does burn calories?

NormaSknockers · 17/05/2010 09:40

Yank tell them a little fib, tell them you'd been olive oil in your ears for a week or so before you were given the drops & they might just do it then (have to get mine done a few times a year) it's awful & it makes you feel all funny when you can't hear properly doesn't it. Poor DS hope the docs can help a bit

Yay for weight loss Yank!

Norma - I think it depends on what sweetner you have bought. Even though it may be incredibly light, it could be 200 x plus more sweeter than sugar. Does it say anything on the packet? It may well be that you have to play around with the quantities and do say half sugar and have sweetner or maybe two thirds sweetner and a third sugar.

Fanny, there is no need whatsoever to be sorry! It is your flippin' BIL that needs to be sorry

NormaSknockers · 17/05/2010 09:54
hellsbelles · 17/05/2010 09:55

oh yank - that's rubbish - poor you.

Norma - those are aches to be proud of

Mitts -

hellsbelles · 17/05/2010 09:56

Fanny I missed a big face at that idiots behaviour. Is there anything to be done (I could drive back out there and make good our original plan )

NormaSknockers · 17/05/2010 09:56

Ok it says nearly 90% less cals then sugar but then says one level teaspoon gives the same sweetness as one level teaspoon of sugar So that would say to me to just use the same amounts of sweetner as I would sugar?

Alicetheinvisible · 17/05/2010 09:58

Fanny - don't you dare apologise! Nothing to be sorry for!

Bella - i would not have the will power to have salad when everyone else was having toad in the hole!

Yank - no advice but for you and bloody GP's. You may want to mention to Dr about DS having calprofen as it can trigger asthma attacks on those with asthma (you mention he is wheezy) So sorry it has gone on for so long.

SAF - could you make some healthy fruit loaf/muffins that you could toast for breakfast?

Norma - i would start a thread wrt sweetner, someone may know something?

I have done a couple of small jobs and i am now drinking a pint of iced water with frozen orange slices in. DD is being lazy again today.

NormaSknockers · 17/05/2010 10:01

hells don't apologise, sometimes it's good to write these things down to see them in black and white. You're not being selfish, you are concerned for her health but at the same time you're left with trying to figure out a solution.

Are there any local childminders that you could find out about, see of they're any good as a temporary solution?

Alicetheinvisible · 17/05/2010 10:02

Helles - a friend of mine is 'casually' nannying for some lady she met through a friend just for a couple of hours a couple of days a week while my friend is pregnant and until the woman can get a more permanent nanny. It seems to be working well. Do you know anyone willing to help out a couple of hours a day until your nanny is better? Someone on maternity or a student for example? I am sorry i am not closer!
