Evening all

DD and i are much better for doing the horses.

Been to waitrose and picked up some pork and salsa sausages that are being slow roasted with some green and yellow peppers and red onion in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Going to have couscous too. It smells good and i am starving.

Just spoke to DH too, should be home in 5hrs! Only another hour or so til DD is in bed though

MitsubishiWarrioress · 15/05/2010 18:39

Yayyy for Bella ... you deserve them, and Lizzy you are lovely. xx

Alice, you are so not a bad mummy, pregnant, tired and stressed but they need to know about boundaries and little lessons in thinking about other peoples feelings and needs are important. Perhaps you need some you time, is that possible to organise?

I shouted at DS, He gets snarly if I say no to anything, and he does very little to help.

I have just been out and spoilt DD to a load of new clothes, her poor little tushy is just one big chicken pox now and it makes her cry dreadfully . Leggings and tunicky tops (like Mummy - she is still my mini me!) are the order of the day, and I got her a brand new pair of slip on shoes that are gorgeous and had never been worn, from a charity shop for £3

I had a little outfit (casual) from same shop... Cropped jeans (next), Floaty top (next) and some kitten heeled shoes (also never worn) for just over £10

(I have to take DS shoping as he likes to pick his own clothes so may take him to derby soon..he won't miss out)

DC's Dad sat with DD. We have a good relationship for things like that and to be fair to him, he has really turned his relationship with the DC's around. DS actually asked to go and stay with his Dad tonight for the first time since his Dad left. To have gone from being frightened of him to that is an enormous step. Pity the price was so high .

Trills, that sounds like fun

Anything is a good start SAF and best not to start too ambitious.

TotalChaos · 15/05/2010 19:08

Mitts -sorry poor DD is having a bad time of it with the pox. Must be a funny feeling having your ex getting his shit sorted now rather than before it was too late....

SAF - plan out your snacks BEFORE you hit the wine!

Yank - sorry you and DS are still unwell

DEM - did skating go well with DS

Bella and Lizzy - how lovely re:flowers.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 15/05/2010 20:08

Lizzy - you are more than welcome to come and partake in my life anytime. Shall I tell you what we are hopefully going to do for DS's birthday?

I cooked a nice dinner tonight in honour of our anniversary, chicken breasts stuffed with philly cheese, garlic & herbs wrapped in parma ham (yes I got the idea from their ad!) with garlic/onion/herb roasted potatoes, roast carrots and asparagus. We've opened a bottle of wine too.

DS in bed now but still miserable. Really really hope he gets over this on the weekend. DH is saying he can't stay home with him this week as he's got deadlines, but am worried as I've already taken off 3 days to care for ill DS and haven't even been back at work a month! To complicate it more, the car is going in for the gearbox problem, and DH is the only one who can drive the courtesy car (I have too many points) .

Have a nice evening everyone, am off to snuggle with DH and try to salvage this shagging anniversary.

Alicetheinvisible · 15/05/2010 20:36

You are all so nice to me (really don't deserve it)

Mitts - your poor DD. I had cp at 8 and although i don't remember it being that bad i have got a few scars from it still.

DD is snoring away in bed, i think the manicness was down to extreme tiredness. Feel bad now
The bump is kicking the laptop

I have just eaten an enormous plateful of couscous and roasted veg yum yum yum. Now watching BGT after having a good soak in the bath and feeling chilled. Only 3hrs until DH gets in. He has been to the L'occitane shop in paris for me too

DreamsInBinary · 15/05/2010 20:38

Evening

Has been haircutting day today - me this morning (now have a bob - really not sure about it), ds and dd this afternoon (they look gorgeous, natch ).

Bella - at your lovely flowers from the lovely lovely Lizzy.

LL- sorry about your shitty colleagues. They are mental to risk losing you, and I suspect they will be reminded of as such shortly.

Gigi - wooohoooo

Mitts - am so, so pleased that DS and exH are back on track. He may be an arse, but if he can hold that in in front of DS, then that's great.

Trill - I am a sucker for posh olives. Yum.

Bitter - sounds like DS is igetting there with the food stuff. And he is super clever!

DEM - sounds like you are in a crazy place, but great news about DS taking to the ice so well.

TotalChaos · 15/05/2010 20:39

happy shagging yank

alice - pep talk needed. your DD is v. young, about 2 isn't she? this is a trying age in general, never mind if you are heavily PG, so tired, hormonal and achey. you need to cut yourself some slack.

DreamsInBinary · 15/05/2010 20:39

Alice - you need and deserve a giant treat. You must get one pronto!

To everyone else - mwah!

Alicetheinvisible · 15/05/2010 20:44

Stop being so nice!

Quite enjoying laughing at the losers on BGT

FiveGoMadInDorset · 15/05/2010 20:49

Mitts - your shopping spree sounded very good

FiveGoMadInDorset · 15/05/2010 20:50

Oh and Aloce I love L'Occitane stuff. Happy counting down.

total - i was very impressed. he found the noise a bit difficult and with drew himself to sit on his own quietly at the top of the viewing area. But came back full of gusto and love it. I think i have a buding hockey boy on my hand. first time on the ice and he check stops (hockey stops), spins and jumps. but he was wearing double blade sledges. But he wanted to go back on for the early afternoon session. I suspect he'll be wanting to go back. He disappeared for best part of an hour. he was "taught" by a hockey player for a little bit and a figure skater wanted to borrow him as he is cute. I am seriously going to have to watch him. Ds definetly likes the older blondes .

It was nice to skate but also nice that he was happy just being. meant i could practice a little bit and mess about a bit. I got dumped onthe ice so have a mild ice burn on my arm, which itches.

I did get moving a bit, cooked tea, baked a cake, finally iced my birthday cake and made a rhubarb crumble. Ds is in the bath, chilling. I m aching as i did some off ice jump practice whilst he shot up and down the road on his bike. He's not really old enough or trustable enough for me to watch from the window. So i know i will get plenty of off ice practice now weather is nicer. Which is fab timing since i am going back to jumps. Just need to crack the spins but that is core strength and sleep. so now have the motviation to actually do the pilates dvd i bought and reassemble the situp aid. Which i'll need to use for a bit.

Feeling virtuous for the exercise. stiff. but a bit yuck from the rubbish i ate last week when it all kicked off with ds. I took him this weekend to challenge the noise aspect, because he was concentrating on something else he coped, and it was outside of his comfort zone but not as loud as monday will be. So hopefully it will bridge the noise jump a bit and he will cope. At least that is the theory.

Toad of ds has had a deep bath so no hot water for me to grab on for an hour or so. I guess ironing it is...

DEM sounds like you and DS are spending some good time together.

DidEinsteinsMum · 15/05/2010 20:59

we have need to enjoy each others company again. it has been a while.

OP posts:
Alicetheinvisible · 15/05/2010 21:02

DEM - so pleased for you. You sound happy and relaxed. I get the feeling from your post that skating makes you feel how i feel about my horses, and sadly very few people ever experience that.

Do i have a choc ice?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 15/05/2010 21:03

It is a release and escapism, I loved my horses when I had them.

wastingaway · 15/05/2010 21:09

Wotcha.

Party went well, DS and DN were fighting over the (pink) toy buggy a lot though.
Only saw one ant today and squashed it and DS went to bed really well, which was s big relief. Bedtimes have been crap all week since DH got back, but all was calm.

Lizzy, you're so awesome. The estate agents don't deserve you, but Bella does.

Hope you're having a fab fay Bella.

Yank, hope the poor little fella gets better quick.

Mitts, hope DD starts to feel a little more comfortable.
I have chicken pox scars on my face. They only show up when I lose weight though, so not seen them in a bit.
If I see them again, they'll be accompanied by lines and wrinkles this time, but I'll still be happy to see them.

Fanny, that sounds like a lovely ramble, hope the job-hunting goes well, librarians kick ass.

Bitter, what a wonderful thing to do for your neighbour! Enjoy your spends.

DEM, hope you can turn your weird mood positive. How do you pronounce your DS name?

Alice, it sounds like you're really trying your best with her. I don't think cbeebies is bad when you need it. I've said it before, but in more 'traditional' societies, we;d have lots of extended family around us all the time to entertain toddlers when we were busy or tired, and Sid and Andy et al fulfill that role in our nuclear families.

We're having a couple of glasses of rose with cheese and biscuits while watching Top Gun.

Alicetheinvisible · 15/05/2010 21:15

Wasting - i like that! Sid and Andy are just extended family doing their bit of babysitting? Perfect! wouldn't mind being babysat-- by Andy

Sod it, i am going to have a choc ice ...
