Shiney I was just wondering where you were!

VinegarTits · 03/05/2010 18:35

Hello shiney, good weekend?

Lizzylou · 03/05/2010 18:35

Good evening Jushi (or one half of), have you had a lovely weekend?

Oooh good time Shiney?

cheers ladies. It just puts all our recent bad luck into perspective.

On a practical level I still have to figure out what the hell to do about the car. The locking nut key is specific to the car, and google search indicates it could take 14 days to get a new one done!

Tomorrow is ok, very unlikely I'll go to work anyway. DS's eyes are not getting better and I'm thinking he's got a bacterial infection that these eyedrops are not even touching. He's got a slight fever now and very snotty nose too. Will take him to GP tomorrow (can walk or get bus) and ask if we can get ointment instead of drops for his eyes. Prying them open with him screaming 4 times a day is not working.

TotalChaos · 03/05/2010 18:44

sad news about your friend Yank, sorry to hear that.

bellavita · 03/05/2010 18:46

Could you not go direct to a dealership Yank?

It is hard when a little one is poorly like that because you are just trying to get them better, but they don't understand...

OP posts:
TotalChaos · 03/05/2010 18:47

yank - sorry that DS is no better, think you are abso right to get him back to docs, whenever DS had conj. docs always said to take it back if it was getting worse. what unfortunate timing him being poorly so soon after you started back.

shiney - well done at being under 11stone! did you stick to that 800 cal thing in the end?

mouseface - welcome back, and happy 1st bday to mini mouseface. Was the bday OK - don't want to sound intrusive, but sometimes when you have a child with SN birthdays can be a bit bittersweet.

bella, yes, will call the dealership in the morning, they are the ones that will have to organise a replacement locking nut key (at a cost I'm sure). Stupid thing is, we were supposed to take it there on Wednesday about the gearbox that keeps failing despite being replaced 6 months ago. But if we can't get the spare wheel on to even make it driveable, that will have to be cancelled.

YanknCock · 03/05/2010 18:56

TC, I know, I've only been back a week! I will try to see it as a positive that DS being ill and the tyre thing are happening at the same time and not separately--at least its only one absence instead of two, right?

bellavita · 03/05/2010 18:56

I think I would rather not thank you very much Shiney...

Fingers crossed you can get it sorted - perhaps they can send one of those recovery trucks out to you and get it to the garage that way.

Lizzylou · 03/05/2010 18:57

All sounds a total ballache Yank. Why are these things so bloody awkward?

The eye does sound bad, DS1 had conjunctivitis when a baby but am almost sure even though he woke up unable to open his eye for gunk it was better almost immediately, there are different types of conjunctivitis I think? Best to go to GPs, poor little thing.

Sorry, Mouseface has missed the bit about there being a birthday celebration, have you had fun?

Shiney, am loving that your food horizons are being expanded by JJ, but then you revert to type once home
Bloody wish I'd had ryvita, am far too stuffed.

YanknCock · 03/05/2010 19:01

Lizzy, yeah, I'd expected his eyes to clear up really quickly with the drops, am surprised they are both still pumping out green/yellow gunk.

DH and I have failed on the healthy eating front tonight. We just had Dominos. Very bad being married to another comfort eater, we really are as bad as each other.

bellavita · 03/05/2010 19:03

Yank, I really think you can let yourself off tonight

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 03/05/2010 19:06

Yank, no it doesn't sound that the drops are working(no shit, stating the obvious, eh?). HOnestly when I went into DS1 one morning in his cot his one eye was almost glued together with yellow gunk, the other not much better. After a few drops from the GP it started clearing up and he was fine almost overnight.
