Morning SAF, we've been watching the election coverage in bed since before 6am, the boys didn't wake until 7am (DS1) and 7.30am (DS2) bet that doesn't happen on the weekend!

We've gone blue here, the Labour MP had got caught up in the expenses scandal and had been in for 18 years. I have no idea what will happen now, I don't really understand how it can proceed. Am reading the political threads and hoping that there are more intelligent posters who can explain

I am mostly gutted that I fell asleep during the CHannel 4 election coverage with the luscious David Mitchell

hellsbelles · 07/05/2010 09:00

morning all - I'm hungover & tired...I drunk a glass or two while watching 24 then the election coverage (and then DD decided to wake a few times)

....gutted at the outcome...I do feel like this is the worst of all possibilities.

DreamsInBinary · 07/05/2010 09:03

Ugh - stayed up way too late and then DD decided to wake at 4.15

So now have to entertain two dc for the day feeling like a zombie.

hellsbelles · 07/05/2010 09:08

DIB - sounds like our DD's were in cahoots....

NormaSknockers · 07/05/2010 09:08

Lizzy agree with you, looking more & more like a Hung Parliment! Mind you, don't think that would be a bad thig at all, might even prove to be the best result though there's still time I guess!

Trills I blame you, you have me hooked

Lizzylou · 07/05/2010 09:21

Norma, am just disappointed that the Lib Dems didn't gain more. Not just because I quite fancy Nick Clegg, honest!

Dib, oh no, poor you! Cbeebies??

Hells, I had a fair amount of vino and no dinner, so was bleary eyed this morning and kept asking DH very stupid questions.

It does seem like nothing has been sorted and the confusion continues, which can't be good for the economy.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 07/05/2010 09:26

Morning.

I need tea.

DreamsInBinary · 07/05/2010 09:28

Hooray - Lizzy, we agree on a man

Off to soft play to exhaust entertain the little angels...

MyCatIsABastard · 07/05/2010 09:31

Morning all.

Well, interesting times ahead it seems. Lets see who gets into the political bed with who. We've gone blue in Gloucester this time. Our MP was pretty naughty with the expenses (Labour) so I'm thinking that might have something to do with it. My personal view is that people don't really like David Cameron so conservatives lost out on more votes because of him.

Not all over just yet though so we'll see.

I weighed this am and am 12st 12lb so have lost 7lb. Hurrah! Just another 21lb to go (gulp!) but on the plus side, only another 7lb to go and I'll have lost 5stone (hurrah again!).

I slept from midnight right through til 7am this morning and feel really tired today. Why is it that I feel better when I have to get up in the night? I think I must run better when knackered!

Have a lovely day everyone. x

jetcat · 07/05/2010 09:35

well done mycat

Dib and those others who stayed up/had early mornings, hope you all manage to catch up with some rest

well we have stayed labour - although he did lose quite a few votes - our local hospital is closing I dont quite understand the hung parliament bit - am watching the news trying to fathom it all out

Thanks jet

Jeremy Vine just said on BBC news that at the moment if labour and lib dem formed a coalition it stil isn't enough to form a full parliament. Think I'm going to have to look it all up and work it out. It seems wrong to me though that the party with the most votes might not actually get in .

hellsbelles · 07/05/2010 09:45

we stayed labour too but there was a lot of suggestion there could have been a lib dem upset.

O.k...it's definately hung parliment - it's just been announced as breaking news.

Norma - it's good to hear someone saying that a hung parliment is a positive thing (DH thinks the same but is not very eloquent - well he was drunk - at explaining why). It is interesting to hear many of the commentators saying this is not such an unusual thing globally - just for us.

urghh - I shall start reading the political threads now rather than bore you all here.

SO diet wise - ladies I need you to be strict with me. We're going on holiday in July with supermodel SIL and my brother. This woman is amazzzzzing looking. About 5ft 11, blonde and the most amazing figure. I need to get into shape otherwise on the beach I will just feel so blurghhhh. I'm just going to get birthday weekend out of the way and then it's full on diet mode.

hellsbelles · 07/05/2010 09:46

cheers for Cat - well done!

Just seen that hells re the hung parliament. Wonder what that means now

Lizzylou · 07/05/2010 09:58

Hurray for Mycat, you have done amazingly!
You must feel so proud of yourself.

Hells, I am the same, not long until my holidays and I dn't want to spend them feeling bleurgh, I want to run along the beach like a Baywatch babe

Jet, you and me both! Have no idea what is going on.

hellsbelles · 07/05/2010 10:05

blast - my laptop charger is broken...about to run out of batteries! Do you think I may actually have to do some housework?

Have drunk tea - feeling more awake

Have no idea whether a hung parliament is a good thing or not

MyCat - well done on the loss!

Hells - I have a wedding to go to in July and am refusing to buy an outfit until I can get a smaller size.

Saf - It would be really good to meet up. I live about a ten minute walk from work, in a not very nice area with a stupid name

Hmm, DH has been explaining to me about why he thinks a Hung Parliament is a good thing, Norma. Am in agreement with you both now!

I am amazed it happens so rarely in the UK tbh

DIB, a fellow Nick lover then? He was just fab on the TV.

Hello. I don't know what it is about Nick Clegg that winds me up, but I couldn't bear watching him. He was in drama clubs at Uni I seem to recall hearing and I can always see him 'acting' which does my head in. I hate to see actors 'acting' iyswim anyway.

I think a shake up of the whole political structure in this country is a very good thing. That the Lib Dems got nearly a quarter of votes, and less than 10% of the seats is unacceptable really.

MyCat, you're doing sooooo well!
