bellavita · 05/05/2010 22:34

See, I even posted twice...

no one

CrispyTheCrisp · 05/05/2010 22:34

Vinny you did not escape:

VT - do not eat that cake.

You will have to do a lot more than run up a few stairs to shift the calories.

Is it hard to say no to yourself, or hard to say no to the people offering?

This is fun

DidEinsteinsMum · 05/05/2010 22:36

You are only as old as the person you feel, or at least that seems to be the philosopy of the elderly lady from next door who appears to have found herself a nice young elderly gentlemen to walk her back from the pub.

almost let me see if i can think about a title and linky you.

CrispyTheCrisp · 05/05/2010 22:36

And Shiney.....

Shiney - you've been doing so well so don't give yourself a hard time.

Instead of panicking and feeling shit, just stay calm and in control.

Say yes, you're allowing yourself cake today with your DC's and a nice natter. Don't let it roll into 3 slices.

Don't over compensate by eating nothing tonight, just take it in your stride and think "hey, I've just eaten a bit of cake like a normal person would perhaps, sometimes, enjoy a piece of cake with a friend and then, you know, just go back to eating well".

Rather than what we would all normally do which is eat one slice, think fuck it, go home and empty the biscuit barrel for good measure cos fuck it right, I'm blown the day now anyway....sort of idea.

That goes for you too VT!

Will try and find a memory for you Bella

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 05/05/2010 22:37

Alright, alright, bella, I'll stop the bossiness, no need to post twice!

How old are you?

If it makes you feel better, I smoke, so I look at least a decade older than I am.

CrispyTheCrisp · 05/05/2010 22:39

Bella, actually you were being a very good girl by the looks of it last June.

Shiney on the other hand........ This is my final C&P but the sentiments certainly hold for some of us:

RRRRRRIGHT Shineon.

I want you to go to the freezer right now and take that ice cream and those cakes and put them in a bag and give them to your neigbhours.

NOW!

If they aren't in, you're to PUT THEM IN THE BIN. And you're to think "good - I AM NOT A DUSTBIN, I DON'T PUT FOOD INTO MYSELF JUST BECAUSE IT WILL BE A "WASTE"."

Now - forget today. What's done is done and there is absolutely no point beating yourself up. Just learn from it what you can.

I would hazard a guess the lesson is "old habits die hard" and that once your body had a sugar rush like the old days of 3 weeks ago, it triggered cravings of monumental scale.

So this is what we learn from today: Perhaps there is no such thing as one slice of cake - one biscuit, one slice of white bread for the likes of us eh?

Perhaps we have a way to go in learning moderation and not reacting to sugar like it's a line of cocaine...

So tomorrow I think the best thing is just to forget today happened, but keep the information you learned about the day starting with an innocent enough piece of cake.

Right - is that enough of a talking to or do you need more? I got both guns loaded here and I'm not afraid to use 'em

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 05/05/2010 22:41

Ooh, I want to be that bossy!

hellsbelles · 05/05/2010 22:41

there there...you must be very sad about syc...all that posting.

Not sure about actually birthday...Monday is the shite day for eating out in London (everything is closed)...so I think we are going out on Thursday instead (it's supposed to be a surprise though

Bitter - I'm on 6. Milo (who is the oddly similar to my younger brother - though brother doesn't have horrible highlights and is also very similar to Adrian Brody) has just died to save the midget Nadia. Ricky Shroder is like a Jack Bauer 'lite' and is seeing far too much action....and Jack's Dad is negotiating with the president....save all of America in return for incredibly irritating grandson...and they are making it out it is a hard decision. Oh how I love it. I keep drafting my application to MI5 I am also really enjoying the fact that our new telephone rings in teh office are very very like CTU!! Sad but true.

DidEinsteinsMum · 05/05/2010 22:42

fuck... that so applys right now. this is why she is missed. that and her goey, sticky love bombs.

Crispy, I remember that post well - Shiney did go and give the stuff to her neighbours too. Blimey, this has made me laugh. Do you know I thought she was actually Davina McCall at one point!

Bitter - I will be 45 in August or middle aged as DS2 said to me last week.

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 05/05/2010 22:45

OMG - can we campaign to get Syc back. I feel like I've been here for ages but I've only 'met' Syc in passing. I want a kicking from her too now...

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 05/05/2010 22:49

That's a good series hells!

We are watching the last series, I'm not going to give you any spoilers.

I have the CTU ringtone on my mobile, but they have now changed it!

BitOfFun · 05/05/2010 22:50

I have read the last few posts and am smiling fondly about Sycamore as though she is dead

Gone, but not forgotten...

I am cream-crackered tonight as I've been on the go all day and pretty much away from the laptop. Was tutoring an A level student tonight, so my brain is fried too. Have resisted wine so far. And vodka.

DidEinsteinsMum · 05/05/2010 22:51

Dont think i have even seen her about on mn, so not sure that there is that option. I suddenly feel very old remonissing.

Didnt know that bella, must have been before i defected over to the shiney cult.

Iggiepitomisesvacuity · 05/05/2010 22:52

I think MNHQ should put those quotes into a book, The MN guide to Healthy Eating or sommat.
Possibly shouldn't give them any ideas.

bellavita · 05/05/2010 22:53

Shiney did have her e-mail address. Perhaps she can mail her?

OP posts:
CrispyTheCrisp · 05/05/2010 22:53

I know i said that i was done, but i have been reading some old threads and this one made me spit my tea out:

By Sycamoretreeisvile Mon 22-Jun-09 20:49:32
Right, I am JUST through the door - still panting. How long have I been running for?????

I am shagged.

AND, I swallowed a pernicious midge. Fucking calories I'll never get back!

ROFL at Shiney being Davina

And with that, i am off to bed. Night all

Night Crispy- we are but ships that have passed...

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 05/05/2010 22:57

Double - I will give up, but there are no calories in cigarettes

Bella - Meh, that is no age at all. I bet you look younger than stinky, prematurely aged me.

Bof, do you want me to stroke your lovely silky ears?

Dem- were you not impressed by my hug by stealth earlier?

DidEinsteinsMum · 05/05/2010 22:58

wastingaway · 05/05/2010 22:58

Hello Bof. What do you tutor?

Iggiepitomisesvacuity · 05/05/2010 22:58

Well done with the swimming Korma. Can't go through with it myself, but admire it in others!

bellavita · 05/05/2010 23:02

Poor DS Korma
