For people who like to eat a lot of fruit and veg but also need to lose weight. We suggest 10 portions of fruit and veg a day, plus at least 10 mins of extra exercise. Weigh in day is Monday. No Atkins stuff or anything like that please , just healthy eating and exercising.

CoupleofKooks · 14/06/2010 18:38

Sorry. I don't get good scale vibes on a Monday. Too close to the weekend.

pointydog · 14/06/2010 18:58

I am feeling a bit plump just now. Think it's the bread.

weetabix and o juice
banana
scotch pancake (plain)
baked tater with cheese and cloeslaw and salad and beetroot
3 pickled baby beets
2 slices crusty bread
heinz tom soup
lots of cherry toms
houmus
ham
strawberries

Between 7 and 8.

CoupleofKooks · 14/06/2010 20:15

i am sitting here feeling really hungry as i have not had pudding or anything
is it just psychological? i had a good dinner
but am salivating doing my online shopping, everything looks so delicious

you will think i have skipped pudding after your cake sternness
not so
dp and i have a chocolate dipping thing from hotel chocolat that someone bought us, and as soon as the boys are asleep we are going to homph it

dp seems to think this implies some kind of hand rubbing shenanigans will follow
i am just thinking i will eat a load of chocolate and then read my book

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 14/06/2010 20:22

Hi! Sorry. No time to catch up. I have a yogalates dvd to do.

I lost half a lb so still a bit over where I'd got too.

I noticed mention of WI further down. Did I tell you I've joined?!

I'll try to read next time I get on but I'm going to try and have some early nights this week. Take care all

CoupleofKooks · 14/06/2010 20:43

Well done Franzo it's a HUGE achievement. Now you have to keep it up. I'm finding that's the hard part! I need to enter another race to get some motivation!

pointydog · 14/06/2010 22:12

You are confusing your dp, fran. You say you are going to 'homph' the dribbly chocolate and that sounds very like 'hump' so your choice of verbs is cauing mixed messages.

pointydog · 14/06/2010 22:12

Well done on the running race. I do think that is a big achievement.

Guadalupe · 14/06/2010 22:17

WI?? Sorry, do you mean the womens institute? Will you have oasis and everything?

I have been out for dinner and had crab spring rolls with the most delicous dipping sauce and parma wrapped cod in a sort of bbroad bean and asprasag soup that tasted vaguely thai and a splendid rose, one with an accent not a petal.

The puddings sounded duff and I restrained myself with a decaff but sadly stopped at the 7/11 on the way home and bought a dime studded milka and a raspberry ruffle.

pointydog · 14/06/2010 22:30

guad, you are so decadent, eating out on a monday night

CoupleofKooks · 14/06/2010 22:33

ooooeeeeeeeuuuuuuuurgh
that was one sickly sticky chocolate dipping thing
we only heated up half the chocolate, it was obscene, and too sweet - we cut up fruit and dipped that in, instead of the bits of fudge and wotnot in the box

OP posts:
pointydog · 14/06/2010 22:39

shame about your chocolate dip. It could've been so good.

Guadalupe · 15/06/2010 08:11

I didn't really think about what night it was.

Dh has worked away the last four weekends so when my friends daughter was disappointed at having some babysitting cancelled last night I said come to us as dh and I have barely seen each other in the last month. And we nearly didn't get to go because of another work crisis.

That place is the local cafe/bistro thingy so quite handy and good food.

I have had that choc dip thing before. I wasn't too impressed but I didn't want to cloud your experience!

CoupleofKooks · 15/06/2010 08:33

every time we have their stuff i have been disappointed
it looks so good in the catalogue but turns out to be overpriced not fantastic quality IMO
we have saved the white chocolate one, we'll heat that up on fathers day with a big bowl of fruit and the boys can share with us, i think it'll be nicer than all those marshmallow bits

anyway after eating that last night i appear to have lost 1 or 2 lb this morning
my weight doesn't normally go up and down much so i am non-plussed

Don't question the scales, just go with it

Had a good food type day yesterday - won't list as I can't remember, but I do remember it was ok. I then done 2 hours of yoga and was starving when I got in. But I resisted!

Oh crap, gotta go. Shopping has arrived ...

pointydog · 15/06/2010 18:24

bugger. Back to 10st 10 which is what I weighed last Tuesday so 0 in terms of gain/loss but last Friday I was 1lb lighter so I put on a bit over the weekend.

weetabix and o juice
banana
tiny portion sweet n sour chicken with a bit of couscous and cauliflower
breakaway (was starvin)
courgette and mushroom and cashew nut stir fry

Prob over 5 portions as I had so much courgette and mushroom

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/06/2010 20:02

nevermind Pointy Tomorrow is another day

weetaflakes
2 crispbread things with cream cheese, 1/2 scotch egg, cucumber sticks, cherry toms.
2 satsumas
1 banana
1 crumpet (dh fault. It was needed to bridge the gap as we ate dinner late because he went for a run)
asparagus, feta and parma ham things with a salad. Leaves, toms, cucumber, radishes and avocado.
raspberries - no cream or meringue

CoupleofKooks · 15/06/2010 20:14

we're going to that park in Ipswich for a picnic with some friends, lemur
i am planning to lounge under a tree while the dads compete for 'best dad' title by playing football with the children all afternoon

really crap parenting week here
i am finding my children hard work and annoying - ds2 is tough going without a sleep in the day, and he is now taking about half an hour to drop off at bedtime also!!! after 12 hours of being awake aaaargh!!
he is weeing everywhere - does a great impression of someone who has never ever been on a potty
wouldn't eat lunch today then had a (presumably very hungry and very tired) mother of a tantrum in the town, lying on the ground, while everyone i have ever met in my entire life walked past and gawped
i wrestled him into the buggy and banged his head as i did so
completed chores in a state, got home eventually with great relief to find i had left my keys in town and was locked out
ah well tomorrow is another day

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 15/06/2010 20:18

cereal seeds raisins banana peach pineapple
bagel and butter = 4
pizza, veg sausages, carrot sticks, cherry toms, pepper, celery = 1
tiny little fairy cake with chocolate buttons on
nairns oat and berry biscuits
pasta, veg bolognese, cheese, fresh peas, asparagus, green cabbage = 3
LARGE magnum thing

wrt the peas - this was the best bit of the day and stopped me sticking my head in the oven i think
i had some fresh peas in the fridge waiting to be shelled and i got ds2 to sit in his highchair and help me with them
he loved it and we had a nice relaxing half hour together
"i'm a good little pea podder mummy"

Blimey Fra, your day sounds exhausting.

I have days like that. NOTHING seems to go right, so by the end of the day I'm an exhausted and irritable cow. If I feel like that I take myself to bed early with a trashy mag, a chocolate bar and a cup of tea.

lol at LARGE magnum I think you deserve it.

I had one fresh sugar snap pea today. It was from the garden. Just the one mind as that's all there was

DS2 speech sounds amazing Fra. DS puts two words together and that's about it. His favourite word of the moment is stuck. This means everything is stuck.

CoupleofKooks · 15/06/2010 22:12

LOL ds2 throws himself down on the floor and wails "stuck! STUCK!"
his speech is something else and of course with the mind of a 1 year old he comes out with some classics
there was a marching band thing on at the park on sunday and he said very earnestly to dp "i want a bagpipe IN MY HAND"

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 16/06/2010 08:09

i have to add the well known fruits and vegetables:

cheese and biscuits
and
crisps
to my list for yesterday

however the scales are still adamant that i have lost 2 lb since monday
