Have just been reading this thread. I don't want to interfere but spookycharlotte please listen to AitchTwoZone she has been giving you good advice all along which has all turned out to be correct.

She is telling you (and she is a NHS direct operator) that you may have an eptopic pregnancy. They can kill. I don't mean to alarm you but if you only live next door to the hospital, please go. Take the children if you have to.

AitchTwoZone · 19/04/2010 16:15

i've had two ectopic pregnancies, by the way, and i know more about them than most doctors, because for a while there i had to, when i realised how badly-educated they are on the subject.

my sympathies to you, of course, but you have to wake up and realise that the more time you spend not dealing with this, the more chance their is that your children might lose their mother. you do get that, don't you?

you have the CLASSIC symptoms of ectopic pregnancy.

belgo · 19/04/2010 16:16

ready this thread is making me feel stressed out.

Please get a scan today SpookyCharloote - listen to Aitch!

I know three women (real like women) who have had ectopic pregnancies - they are not that uncommon!

Brollyflower · 19/04/2010 16:17

Your LMP date would make you 8 weeks, but by your reckoning of when the fumble happened you'd be 5-6 weeks. In either case, ectopic is a real possbility.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

belgo · 19/04/2010 16:17

and I also know someone who had appendicitis during pregnancy, that's another possibility that needs to be ruled out.

AitchTwoZone · 19/04/2010 16:17

nope, it's not me whose the nhs direct operator, but i do know whereof i speak, sadly. i have personally saved the lives of a couple of women on here, according to the doctors who later found them bleeding out in the waiting room at A&E. which i know sounds a bit wanky, but they were pretty grateful when they came back here to tell us. i have lost count of the number of women on here whose doctors have ruled out eps that turned out to be exactly that.

spookycharlotte121 · 19/04/2010 16:18

what should i do who should i contact?

Brollyflower · 19/04/2010 16:18

Which hospital is your epau at. We'll find you the number

Brollyflower · 19/04/2010 16:19

Alternatively just go there right now before they close for the day.

Lulumaam · 19/04/2010 16:20

or phone the docs and ask them to refer you or go to A&E

spookycharlotte121 · 19/04/2010 16:20

i think it would be southmead bristol

DrivenToDistraction · 19/04/2010 16:21

Yes Charlotte, just go to the hospital, NOW.

I'm so sorry you're going through this but you have to get yourself looked at. Your children need their mum.

AitchTwoZone · 19/04/2010 16:22

Southmead Hospital

Southmead Road. Bristol
BS10 5NB.

Clinic Times: 09:00 - 14:30 (Mon-Fri); 10:30-12:30 (Sat & Sun - Once a month -call clinic)

Tel: 0117 9505050 ext 2365 .Fax:

Brollyflower · 19/04/2010 16:23

OK Southmead epau closed at 215pm. Go A&E or ring the gp and ask to be referred as an emergency because of the one-sided pain and you are fearful it's ectopic.

AitchTwoZone · 19/04/2010 16:23

did you ring them, brolly?

ShowOfHands · 19/04/2010 16:23

Yep, closed according to a quick google.

Go straight to a&e, they will refer you up to gynaecology who will scan you.

Brollyflower · 19/04/2010 16:24

Sorry you are frightened and I hope we turn out to be wrong, but this really is a better make a fuss and be safe moment. Take care.

ShowOfHands · 19/04/2010 16:24

answerphone... I just rang.

Brollyflower · 19/04/2010 16:24

No I didn't Aitch. May be worth trying the number.

JannerBird · 19/04/2010 16:26

Sorry AitchTwoZone - I must have got you confused with another poster. However, you have been talking alot of sense.

I will say it again though - Charlotte please go to the hospital even if the clinic isn't open. Someone there will see you.

ADuckCalledBill · 19/04/2010 16:27

Frenchay Hospital
Frenchay Park Road
Frenchay
Bristol
BS16 1LE
0117 970 1212

Your next nearest NHS hosp. I think. Maybe they have an EPU who could help.

AitchTwoZone · 19/04/2010 16:30

just spoke to the scanning unit at southmead. they say get to A&E, they'll get you scanned at gynae. (or phone your gp but if he's the one who says it's not an ep then he's a tosser).

and hurry up.

Brollyflower · 19/04/2010 16:36

I bet you can't think straight now. If you are on your own then you need:
your children
your phone & wallet
nappies & wipes
a book/toy each
grab the nearest handy snack and drink

If you have someone to leave them with then your phone, keys and money should do.

Stick what you need in a bag and go please, now. We'll all be thinking of you.

spookycharlotte121 · 19/04/2010 16:37

ok..... well exp is going to collect ds from nursery and my mum has dd.

off to frenchay a&e now.
