I have had horrible pains all day..... they feel like periiod pains. As the day has progressed they have been getting worse and worse.

Nurofen isnt touching it. Im totally exhausted by it and just want to sleep. Im sat here crying because I dont know what to do. I took painkillers nearly an hour ago anf they just arent working and I just want to sleep.

Wow. I have nothing to add. Just flabbergasted at how badly she was treated.

With Charlotte's permission, is there any reason why this thread shouldn't be forwarded to the media? I think the coverage would help flag it up as an important issue. A MN campaign would be fab, too.

Have been following the thread and wish Charlotte a speedy recovery. Very it took so long to sort the correct care, but thankful for the invaluable support of the wise women of MN who helped Charlotte. Well worth a complaint to GP, hospital and every other health professional who provided sub standard care.

Been watching since Monday night. So glad Charlotte has finally been treated. It's a bit of a disgrace that she had to fight for it though- thank goodness for bossy MNers!

I've been pregnant twice and knew next to nothing about ectopic pregnancies before reading this thread. A campaign to raise awareness amongst women would be a start- there should be posters up at the GPs/ ante natal clinics etc. warning of typical ep symptoms.

Flowers and online shopping vouchers are great but if there's enough can we also do a treat for her too? Those of you who know her would be better put to say what but maybe a facial or manicure or summink in a few weeks time? I know it's a bit silly/ extravagent but it might lift her spirits a bit.

spookyc had pain. aitch and others suggested ectopic. gp / hospital poopooed and were wrong. spooky didn't want to make fuss but was carried off by mum/sister + much posting on thread. has ectopic, is recovering from op.

so she may well hvae died without mn.

AF - basically weekend SC was in pain, posted on here, MNers recognised symptoms of eptopic pregancy, she went back and forth to the hospital/NHS direct etc, they basically fobbed her off despite her symptoms and a + pregnancy test, eventually she went back last night (took some persausion as she felt she was being a nuiscance). Today they finally scanned and her diagnosed..........yep EP, had sugery late this afternoon.

AF - charlotte posts about severe abdo pain. Lots of to-ing and fro-ing with HCP, (GP, NHS direct, EPU). Not asked relevant questions re symptoms, not scanned at EPU.

Heroic and knowledgeable MNers accurately assess her symptoms as indicative of an ectopic pg. Tell her to go back to A&E, where, sadly it is an ectopic. She has had an operation and is in considerable pain.

Have I missed anything?

Lewis - DH has Paypal. A/C

Spooky has bad abdo pain, possible pregnancy confirmed by +ve test but low HcG levels.

MNetters suspect possible ectopic pg and strongly encourage Spooky to go to A and E.

Local hospital admits and then sends home suggesting early miscarriage, without scanning her to rule out EP.

Spooky still in agony and now feels she can't go back because she is 'wasting hospital's time'.

MNetters again strongly encourage her into going back in, with many recounting their symptoms of EP and misdiagnosis stories.

Spooky goes back in, waits 12 hrs for a scan, which DOES confirm EP and then goes in for emergency surgery.

Toc -do you know if her tube had ruptured? I hope not and that she hasn't lost one and/or too much blood .
